Love Taverna Tony’s. So delicious and authentic. Appetizers are great, but the flaming saganaki cheese and pita bread are the way to go. If you have a large party then splitting the Vegetarian’s Paradise as an appetizer could be a good idea as it is essentially a sampler dish of hummus, tzatziki, melitzanosalata, tabouli, spanakopita, tiropita, feta cheese and horta. The only thing on the menu that I was not a fan of were the salads. Go for the soup, pasta or a main dish and all is great. Some nights there is live music and dancing, a very fun and unique taste of the culture!

Been going to Tony’s since 1996. The quality of food is always great and consistent. The house dip with pita bread is a must have! The chicken soup, flaming cheese, Greek salad, giant grilled prawns, rack of lamp are just few of my favorite regular dishes.

My friend brought me here for a belated birthday lunch. We were so extremely disappointed. They brought us bread & red caviar hummus. I told them we were allergic to fish can they bring plain hummus. The charged us full price plus $ 4.00& tax for pita bread. I asked for a refill on my Diet Coke(small glass by the way) and they charge $ 3.00 plus tax for it. My friend told them it was my birthday and they said we will give you a candle, you pay for dessert. Lunch was«eh». So many better restaurants in Malibu. I have no reason to come back here!

Best hummus everrrr! Great service, upbeat staff and the fresh bread and hummus were amazing. Shrimp in the shrimp cocktail were the freshest, most meaty and biggest shrimp I have ever had. Great quality food and fun atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back!

We had a great experience. The only thing that really bothered me is that the person who dropped off the bread and dip in the beginning didn’t tell us that the dip had seafood/caviar in the dip. We’re lacto-vegetarians, and that really bothered us strongly.

Incredible tender slow cooked items. Best cheesecake in the known Universe. Gargantuan fireplace WITH a gorgeous fire going in the evening. Basically, I could live here.

It’s always unfortunate when the waiter starts off by not telling you the specials(I wouldn’t have even known there were any if it weren’t for the table next to me)…and then when you ask for a recommendation, they just shrug and say everything… Definitely disappointed in the service of this particular waiter. On the other hand, I was seated promptly as a single — a nice touch on a busy Saturday night. After reading the reviews on here, I decided on the traditional combination platter — the waiter was then nice enough to… say, «so you know what everything is?»…odd…so I asked for him to tell me, although I actually did since I had remembered my dishes from a trip to Greece a few years prior…(a fact I did not tell him — our conversation was limited to what I wanted to drink and what I mentioned above). During my meal, the waiter came by only once, hardly said a word, and it was around 20 minutes(no joke) after I had finished when he plopped down a dessert menu and left my table without saying a word. This after he had come to the table next to me, as well as the one across from me, around 4 – 5 times each, without stopping at my table once. I had already had to ask one of the bus boys to get me a box, whom was very nice and quick to do so. It is important to note that we had not had any bad interactions outside of a disappointed look on my face after he could not give any suggestions — I had not said a word regarding my true feelings about the service or anything. I’m usually a generous tipper, so I felt what I did give him is likely more than what someone else with the same experience would have given. As for the food, it really was wonderful– the baby lamb kleftiko in particular was perfectly cooked, moist, and falling off the bone — if I return, I would likely have this as a meal. The dolmathes were probably the best I’ve had stateside. The eggplant in the mousakka was slightly underdone, but still enjoyable. With a small side, this dish would be enough for two. I finished my meal off with a piece of the baklava that was so recommended — however I was so put out with the service that I took it to go. The atmosphere was lively — a live band and a belly dancer made it very upbeat and fun. The guests were dancing in the aisles and in the small dance area they had in front of the band. If not for my unfortunate experience with the service, I likely would have rated this place 5 stars; however, service being a large part of how I rate an establishment, I could not rate it very highly. So, come for the food, not the service.

YUM. This restaurant served Greek food. I definitely recommend this place… our waiter was super nice and really entertaining. We were a party of 8. For guests 8 or more it is a set menu per person. So, I got to try MOST of the appetizers and entrees on the menu. Everything was delicious I didn’t get to have a taste of all of it because there was a great variety, but no one on our table seemed to complain about the food. The restaurant is located inside the shopping center make sure you park near the restaurant or you will be walking around the shopping center looking for this restaurant. It might help for you to know the restaurant is located across urban outfitters. I would definitely go back if I am in the area. Also, keep in mind you don’t get a ocean view from this restaurant. It is walking distance to the beach though.

Came here for my friend’s graduation party with with a huge group of people. We were seated outside on a bright and beautiful spring day. Loved the flowers and plants they had out on the patio. Their food was delicious. Especially the Greek salad and dolmathes. They have a live band that plays inside and belly dancers. However, I’m not sure if they have this during the week days. Overall, we had a great time listening to good music and eating yummy food. I took a star off because the floors were extremely slippery on my way to the restroom. Both my friend and I almost slipped and we weren’t even wearing heels.

My favorite Greek restaurant. We love coming here for great Greek food. The owner is a very nice and sweet man. My husband enjoys speaking with him cause it’s the only time he get to speak Greek. The food is amazing. Love the atmosphere. It feels like we are in Greece eating at a taverna. The octopus is on point. All the dishes I’ve eaten were delicious.

Great service. Yummy food. A lovely patio. Dancers. Accommodating bartenders. What’s not to love? This has become a go-to place for a friend and me. Tony’s allows us to order a few appetizers and chat on the patio until they close. We’re not hassled or rushed. My favorite menu items: Taramosalata —(caviar dip) It’s listed on the appetizer menu but is served free at the table with bread. I always feel bad that we order so much of it instead of entrees but it’s addictive! Melintzanosalata —(eggplant dip) And it’s worth ordering a basket of fresh pita bread for an extra few dollars to enjoy it even more. Kefethes —(meatballs) A blend of lamb, beef and herbs. Flaming Cheese — Amazingness in molten kefalograyere and cognac form Spanikopita — a little heavy on the dill but delicious nonetheless Tony’s also has a great selection of Greek wines. While awaiting our table one night, a bartender obliged me with tasting a few reds. They are all delicious and hard to choose from! Belly dancers perform and live bands play indoors on weekends. It can get crowded and loud inside so I suggest a patio table if you’d prefer to hear your friends.

I’ve been coming here for years — always know you’ll get good service, delicious food and a quiet place for lunch. The best part is the atmosphere — it feels like you’re in Greece by the sea — with the blue and white décor. If you order food, they always bring you warm bread with taramosalata spread. The temptation is to order loads of food, but if you’re not a robot, you will likely overeat on this first step and not have room for those three entrees you and your friends want to share. I generally try to order something lighter or share a couple small dishes. My favorite is probably the lentil soup. It’s hearty and chunky with tomatoes, carrots, celery and herbs and spices, but since lentils are protein, it’s actually not too carby or heavy. It’s rich and flavorful without being super spicy. The other soups are good too — I think I need to start ordering them for more variety, but the lentil is simply so good! I also rather like the dolmathes — the grape leaf stuffed with beef and rice. You get four for a serving, so be sure to share! They’re made just right, not too heavy. The spanakopita is the classic, and they do it just right. Crispy outer shell, and gooeey spinach interior. I also like the Greek Peasant Salad — simple, light and has all the right ingredients. It’s with light lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, bell peppers, spring onions, and of course the best part is the feta and the olives! So yummy and light! If you’re there with a larger group or simply want to sample a lot of things — try one of their platters. It’s very authentic Greek food. If you eat meat, try the Taverna Combination platter with Dolmathes, Moussaka, Pastichio, Spanakopita, Tiropita, and Baby Lamb. But don’t forget to order some veggies with that — it’s pretty heavy! The Vegetarian Platter has a lot of variety too — Hummus, Tzatziki, Melitzanosalata, Tabouli, Spanakopita, Tiropita, Feta Cheese, and Horta. Love it! Finally, service is always great — attentive and helpful without being overly pushy. Great place for a quiet lunch if you want some peace and quiet and privacy. I’ve seen a few celebs there over the years — they may have the same idea!

Tony’s is by far my favorite restaurant — ever. I could eat their delicious Greek food every day. I have been to Tony’s a few times and have always left extremely happy. Their Taramosalata dip is addicting. We were going to town on it and our waiter was so kind as to bring us another round on the house. Make sure you order their pita to go with it! It is so soft and fluffy! Spanakopita — Extremely tasty! But probably wouldn’t order again just because the Tatamosalata always fills me up and I can barely ever finish my entrée. Seriously, I have no will power around that delicious dip! Jumbo Shrimps Taverna Style — I live for this dish. The shrimps are big and juicy and swim in a flavorful tomato sauce. A must if you are a shrimp lover! Chicken and Lamb Souvlaki — Perfectly seasoned, light and refreshing. The service here is grade A. Servers are attentive and take good care of you! The restaurant is extremely cute, it feels like you are in Greece! They have cute outside patio seating and live music inside!

Yucky. This place is a disaster. First off, I am a little embarrassed for even giving it shot because I am Greek, but when you have that itch for avgolemeno & there are pretty good Unilocal reviews… you gotta gave it a shot, so I did. Where to start… sloppy all around, from the décor to the food presentation. The food isn’t authentic. The calamari came with Kraft cocktail sauce. The keftedes were deep fried. No Yiayia would approve. If you respect quality of food, don’t visit this«Greek» place. And it’s ridiculously overpriced.

My family came here for Christmas dinner and we had a great time! The ambiance of this place is awesome — live music, the owner coming around to chat with everyone all adds to it. Our food came out about 5 minutes after we ordered, which was a little worrying(everything must have been pre made). But the Vegetarian Paradise was still delicious and is absolutely a must-try for everyone. It’s a giant portion(came out on two packed plates) of various dips and bites for everyone to try. Everything tasted super authentic, although the potato wedges were sadly over salted. We also ordered a lamb dish that had clearly suffered from being pre made. It had good flavor, but had turned a little dry and tough. Plan on sharing the baklava — it’s a giant portion and while tasty, is toothachingly sweet! The Turkish coffee is also a nice cap on the meal.

Drinks, food, service, ambiance was amazingly. I would be happy with the octopus, drinks and the bread and dip that they serve you. These were the few things that were amazing. All of our main dishes were good also. Live music and plate breaking later in the evening.

Great food and Great fun! I had been to Tony’s twice and each time is a very memorable experience. I ordered the grilled jumbo prawn the first time. It came with 5 grilled jumbo prawns on one plate and veggie/rice on a separate plate. The portions were huge and you definitely got your money’s worth even though most dishes were in $ 30 range. I ordered a chocolate cake for dessert and the portion was huge as well. If you are going with a date, you should consider splitting a dessert. On my second visit, I ordered the grilled halibut. The fish was done to perfection and it came with sides of veggies and rice. There was live Greek music playing and some customers were dancing on chairs and on the main restaurant floor. I don’t speak any Greek but it was very enjoyable watching a huge group of people dancing to Greek music. It was as festive as it could get. Highly recommend this place. Be sure to get a reservation if you are going on a Saturday night.

Have wanted to come here for years and years and finally made it, for Annie’s birthday. The location is so pretty, in the Malibu Country Mart with acres of shopping! A bougainvillea covered patio awaits you, with lovely Greek decorations, blue table cloths and a great festive crowd. The food is terrific! Annie and I both had the Vegetarian Paradise($ 25 each); we could have just ordered one and split it. it’s a ton of food! They put everything vegetarian on two plates: Hummus, eggplant dip, Tzaziki(yogurt with cukes and onion), spanakopita(spinach pastry), sauteed green beans with garlic and oil, a roasted potato, bitter greens, a deelicious buttery pastry with melted feta inside and so much more. It was heavenly and we took our time tasting all the delicious delicacies. Couldn’t resist also ordering the saganaki(flaming cheese, $ 12). They do it at your table, pour cognac over the white cheese and set it on fire. Melty, wonderful deliciousness. This place is just so fabulous I couldn’t believe I haven’t been here before. Will definitely be going back. And the patio is dog-friendly!
