Please before hiring a Nanny from this corp, please review the following petition made from one of their Employees, this«review» has nothing against this particular branch but against the main corporation, if they cannot treat humanly their co workers, do you think they could treat you it your kids well? Up to you to consider it and think about that Thanks,

I don’t think the agency prepares the au pairs well and some of them come not really knowing what to expect. We are very disappointed and will probably never use an au pair again and certainly not from this agency. Our au pair left to return home prematurely with very short notice. Agency handles these situations very poorly and does a bad job mediating conflicts. We liked our au pair but it became clear he did not want to nor know how to work with a tween. And he never learned the english language well enough to be able to effectively communicate with our son, nor really cared enough to establish a relationship(to do this you have to understand that an 11 or 12 year old is different from a 7 or 8 year old). When he decided to return home, we were relieved but distressed at how much money we had to forfeit to the agency if we chose not to replace the au pair or to work through this particular agency. The contract does state that there is no reimbursement of fees after 6 months. Rather, your only choice is to lose the rest of your fee or be forced to choose another au pair and get a «discount» on future agency fees. I think the agency should reimburse a family on a pro rata basis if the au pair chooses to leave early. Perhaps this would incentivize the company to do a better job preparing the au pairs and really making sure everything is ok once they are placed. We feel cheated.

I cannot say enough negative things about AupairCare. My aupair has to leave the country unexpectedly in 3 days. I have been given the choice of 10 – 12 «in country» aupairs immediately available to replace her-most of these are rematching because their host families had safety concerns for their children or have such profound language limitations that they cannot communicate. I am told that, if I choose one, I am responsible for the costs of flying her to my region. If I choose to wait, rather than endanger my children, then I get a credit(no refund) for the remaining time(3 ½ months) toward the next aupair. I caution any parent considering Aupaircare. If you think this option is more flexible/cheaper/enriching/rewarding than having a regular, mature nanny I can only tell you that using this agency was the biggest mistake I have made with respect to my children.
