We stumbled upon this place this weekend as we wanted to get some ice cream. Turned out it’s a pretty awesome toy shop with all kinds of good stuff. While you can always get something cheaper online, you can have it right there, just in time for a 5.5 hour drive to keep the kids occupied. Well worth the small markup to keep them in business. Their ice cream wasn’t bad either. The two guys working there were super nice… probably the owner(s).

Kid’s delight with several square feet of toys and random odd ball gadgets. It’s a fun place, thus the name, fun shop. Came here with a large group to try the ice cream. It was a Sunday evening and the person helping us was very nice and accommodating, even after we tasted several samples. In any event, the ice cream is from Oregon, but it was decadent and not overly sweet. I tried the Kona Coffee and Wild Mountain Berry. Yummy! The cones, which are handmade, and toppings are inclusive, so no binge charging like other ice cream shops. Next time you’re in town, check this place out. There’s always room for ice cream, in the summer AND winter.

Although their ice cream is mediocre, they carry the weirdest odds and ends I have ever seen in a shop this small. For the most part, their ‘toys’ are quite novel and therefore pretty much serves as a paperweight or minute-long entertainment. They have quite the selection of cute items which many will totally adore.

It’s a small little shop in Mammoth with a lot of little knick knacks here and there. A lot of things that kids want to get that you can easily find online for a lot cheaper. The issue I had was I came in 3 times during my trip and each time the girls that worked there weren’t happy or seemed like they really wanted our business. To be honest the girl giving us ice cream samples was pretty much tired of our questions, but we aren’t local so we had to ask. The green tea ice cream tasted so artificial and gross. Guess be cones are handmade but it was weird cause the girl had to walk to the back to get it and seemed upset when I asked about the size difference. Anyways for a fun shop, they weren’t that fun. I don’t know how I feel because we were supposed to get free toppings on our overpriced ice cream sundae and she didn’t even offer or mention it. Just overall poor service and experience here.

this place is exactly what it reads: a fun shop! i always see and pass this up on the way into mammoth, and i finally went in for a visit. i has a shitload of fun stuff. i went yesterday(12÷06÷15), and had some great christmas ornaments/displays, star wars garb like darth vader/r2d2 clocks, shot glasses, old school toys like see n say, socks(i got socks that say«pizza»), wine bottle decorations, flasks, stuffed woolly mammoths and bears, and… ice cream! it literally is… a fun place to visit! very festive. i was thoroughly entertained.

Absolute coolest store in Mammoth! I work in hospitality and have recommended the Fun Shop as a must-see for souvenirs to every guest. The store has all those great gifts for the hard-to-shop wacky people in your life. Super friendly owners that remind you why Mammoth is your favorite small town :) I hear their ice cream is to die for too

Not only is this store an absolute blast to browse, the people working there(I’m assuming the owners) are absolutely delightful. So friendly and kind. We bought a few little toys and trinkets, and I won’t be surprised if we go back again.

The Fun Shop promises and delivers FUN! True to it’s name, kids of all ages(adults too!) will have a blast in this store. Part ice cream parlor and part toy store, it’s the ultimate«kid in a candy store» destination. My husband described it best as, «it contains everything you want but don’t necessarily need in your life.» Hey, life is too short. Have a little fun and treat yourself in The Fun Shop.

This is an amazing combination of a fun, educational toy/game store for our 8 year old, a fun quirky store for adults and a really tasty ice cream shop. All that and the prices are fair and the staff are nice!

GREATEST. STORE. EVER. I could spend a lot of time and money in this place. They have everything cool and fun under one roof: retro board games, obscure games, scratch n sniff stickers, kites, giant pinwheels, a washboard neck tie(comes with a thimble to play it), and, of course, ice cream. We came here for ice cream, because, for some lame reason, mammoth has always had a dearth of ice cream shops. This place is in the old Kentucky Fried location. GO! It’s amazing. I got two pinwheels for my patio, a giant pencil for my nephew, scratch n sniff stickers, and drumstick pencils, as well as ice cream. I could’ve hung out in there all day. Even my dad loved it and he’s old. This is a store for everyone.

This is every child’s dream store! They have everything from candy, to games, stuffed animals, ice cream, etc. There is so much to look at that they won’t know where to start! They also have Mammoth souvenirs like magnets, cups, postcards, etc. Don’t forget about the adults! They have nostalgic candy and other novelty items that the«big kids» will enjoy!

Not even kidding… I am a 26 year old mother, and I LOVETHISPLACE! You’ll find everything here, from old fashioned candies to children’s toys to gag gifts to an ice cream station where they make root beer floats and have a ton of toppings. This place is fabulous and the owners are super knowledgable and the sweetest people you’ll ever meet. I work at a preschool and I love coming here looking for gifts for the children, but I’ve also come here for a little treat for my son and a goofy gift for my husband. This is the best one stop shop ever!

We had the pleasure of stopping by the Mammoth Fun Shop after a recommendation from the front desk people at the Mammoth Mtn Inn. We were looking for some games to keep us entertained when we were not on the slopes. We found what we were looking for and a whole lot more! We were greeted by the(beautiful) owner, Camille who turned us on to some Tropical Sherbet… which was to die for. It was so good, we came back for more the next day! I would highly recommend stopping by and grabbing a game or a toy or some ice cream when in Mammoth. Oh, and Camille is super hospitable and sweet!

Dangerous place to bring your kids. Tons of packaged candy and a good amount of games and toys. They also have a decent selection of ice cream, which is constantly changing and they have home made whip cream.
