Ran into Stellar one morning on the way to the mountain, and grabbed a carrot cake muffin and a dirty chai. Best dirty chai I’ve had since college, and a really great muffin with a nice outer crust. Let’s be real — it was a cupcake. Sweet moist center, thick layer of cream cheese icing… I think they just call it a muffin so noone feels guilty eating it for breakfast ;) I’ll definitely stop by this place again the next time I’m in Mammoth!

My husband and I stopped here before starting our day. I ordered a chicken sandwich and he ordered a omelette made with egg whites and cheese. Both meals were good. The service was good.

Lots of healthy options. Cute little place. Nice décor but overpriced — 12 dollars for a wrap!

Most people think I come to mammoth mountain to ski but easily 50% of it is because I love stellar brew. They have the most outstanding gluten-free muffins and breads and the breakfast here is my favorite. They are totally patient with you when you design your own smoothies and usually it’s epic. Today Jessie made us a basin bowl and custom smoothie. I think it powered one of the better ski days I have in memory. Stellar is stellar. My favorite place in Mammoth besides Skadi. :) love you guys.

Stopped in here real quick to get a drink on our way out of town. I got a chai tea and it was delicious. I especially like when coffee shops showcase little local vendors by giving them space in their store. While you wait for your drink you can check out some jewelry or maple syrup from a family farm. Wish we could have hung out here for longer.

I come here every time I’m in mammoth. Great coffee. Good flavor and fresh with a choice of medium or dark brew. Of course I get the dark. That’s how I live! Mocha’s are great too. Not to sweet. They also sell local jewelry and stuff. The atmosphere is cozy but decorated nicely. Has the local coffee shop vibe goin on. Also has outside seating so you can breath this nice brisk mountain air. :-)

OMG I had the best dirty chai tea latte with almond milk ever here! I made my fiancé & friend try it and they both normally dislike this beverage, but thought this one was a delight! I wish I lived in mammoth just to have this beverage. I also had the vegan/gluten free chocolate chip cookie, which was very tasty. The staff was super friendly & very quick! Cute coffee shop and right off the Main Street, so very easy to get to. It’s a must stop if you’re in the area.

Hit or miss. Sometimes this place is pretty good. Once I found an eggshell(lots of it) in my breakfast burrito and when I went to return it, the staff seemed not to give a hoot. Now that food cache is open, there’s really no reason to eat here. Coffee is good which is why I give it 3 stars, the owner is nice and I get that the staff turnover rate is high but a litte more empathy wouldve gone a long way on that burrito.

Stellar is a great spot in Mammoth if you’re looking for a healthy breakfast or lunch. I recently were there with friends after a long day of skiing and discovered their plant based, fruits and veggies protein shakes. Aside from shakes, they make a mean flavored latte and offer an array of different espresso based drinks, coffees and teas. For lunch, they serve lots of different fresh wraps, sandwiches(hot or cold) and with every lunch order, they include an almond flour, vegan, gluten-free chocolate chip cookie(redic, you definitely won’t miss the dairy). I really like the little things they sell in their store… hipster duck-taped wallets(yes, this is a thing and they actually look super cool even though I’d never sport one), amethyst necklaces and earrings, unique coffee mugs, etc. I’d certainly go back the next time I’m in Mammoth and am hankering something clean and healthy.

I love love love this place! They have amazing vegan and vegetarian options if you or anyone in your group is, which came in extremely handy for our group since a couple people were. But their non-vegan options are SOGOOD. The #5 wrap is to die for and the dirty vanilla chai is so freaking good; I have never had a dirty chai that good. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the décor is great! It’s the perfect little cozy coffee shop/deli in the whole town. We went here all 3 days we stayed and every time was great. Thank you Stellar Brew for making our trip awesome!

A great coffee shop with good coffee and healthy tasty food. Ordered their«Cabin Style» oatmeal. Organic oats topped with Blueberries, Almonds, Sunflower Seeds, and Hemp Seeds, Sprinkled with Cinnamon and Cardamom. Yum!

Very cool little shop with baked goods and a limited selection of breakfast burrito style sandwiches. The coffee is good but super expensive. Twice what I pay for Starbucks and just as good. There is outdoor seating and a couple tables inside. There’s a coffee shop across the street that I heard wasn’t as good as this place. The service was friendly and all in all it was a great cup of coffee on a snowy day.

My favorite café in Mammoth! I love the vibes here so much I would come here almost every week! Wooden tables, indie music, young hip friendly staff. The espresso drinks aren’t my favorite because I really like the taste of strong coffee. The espresso drinks usually are too milky for me so my go-to is black coffee or espresso. They serve Black Sheep Coffee(from Bishop) which I love!!! The vanilla chai is way too sweet for me(I’m not a sweet tooth) but the spiced chai is perfect! Pastries are on point but unpredictable selection every day. You just gotta try whatever they have that day; they’re all really good. If you can, get the chocolate chip pecan banana bread! The front patio is great to chill, write, paint, chat, pet dogs, etc especially when the sun is out. Never had their food but after coming to this place for 6 months it seems like everyone came here for the food. Overall: great vibes, great coffee, friendly staff!

This place was honestly just OK. The coffee was just OK and the breakfast sandwich(that for some reason I thought would be made to order was instead pulled from a heated display case) was barely OK. I came through to grab a quick bfast on my way up to Devil’s Postpile, but I have to say I was underwhelmed, especially for the pricepoint. I hate to say this, especially about small business coffeehouses, but I could have gotten a better iced americano from SBucks for less. I guess maybe I just didn’t order to their strongsuit, but while some of the things on their menu looked fantastic, I was a bit put-off that a place that is spouting a healthy natural vibe would give me an overpriced bagel breakfast sandwich from under a heatlamp wrapped in aluminum foil? In any case, I was just passing through and maybe my experience was a one off…

It’s okay. I had their quesadilla on a spinach tortilla and it had way too much cheese in ratio to the veggies, so it did not feel«healthy» at all. It needed salt or something. Kinda bland. A dinky potion of salsa comes with and a burnt Chocolate cookie. All for $ 12. They weren’t the friendliest. I had no clue if they would even tell me if my food was ready or bring it out to my table. Getting a to-go box was a bit of an ordeal that seemed to overwhelm the clerk, who continued with cleaning a bowl and then, talking to herself, «oh yeah a to go box» while I’m standing there the whole time.

Great Healthy vegan & non vegan food options here if that’s what you’re looking to start your day off with. Acai bowl: 3.5 stars Fresh & fruity way to start the day, this need more fruits though. Basin bowl: 4 stars Very fresh veggies in this bowl but needed more variety of veggies. Atmosphere: homey, cozy comfy cabin feel. Tip: Free WiFi & Very dog friendly place. =)

Stelar brew deserves a stelar review. This is one of the few places in Mammoth offering healthy, vegan friendly food. While most restaurants do not even offer a vegetarian option, stelar brew has a delicious vegan friendly seitan sandwich. The smoothies are also delicious but the standout is definitely the baked goods. The coffee shop vibes and selection of home made jewelry, make this a good spot to grab a light lunch while catching up with friends. I left with 3 big cookies in hand and they were the best treat on the long car ride back to San Diego. I will defiantly be coming back to stelar brew next time I am in Mammoth.

DESSERTINCLUDED Free wi-fi. Free cookie with your lunch order. Healthy menu. Coffee and smoothies. The blended ice coffee was great on a hot day. The sandwiches were too«healthy» aka bland for me a bit dry. But I loved my order– the stellardilla or something like that. It’s basically a quesadilla with spinach, carrots, red onions and it’s DELICIOUS! You can get wheat or spinach tortilla. I got the spinach it was very tasty.

Upgrade: Gets another star for a great sandwich. Except they ran out of bread, so it’s a wrap. I had only been here once for an average breakfast burrito, but a local coworker raved about the sandwiches, so she brought me back. I order the«carnivore» sandwich, which had to be a wrap because they were out of bread. Of course they blamed the bakery that provides the bread. I did think it was a little weird that a regular turkey, bacon, cheese sandwich would be called the ‘carnivore’. There’s nothing especially meaty about it. I guess when you have lots of vegan items on your menu, a sandwich that has 2 kinds of meat must be pretty barbaric. The coconut cookie that we split was good, and the apple juice was standard. Maybe I’d stop in again, but I’m not much of a coffee person, so most of that appeal here is lost on me.

The Skinny: great chai latte, okay on the food but love the fact that they try to offer healthier organic options(3.5) service: counter service(3) value: it is nice that they open early(5:30am) for your caffeine fix. Food is healthy satisfying option and good value for small town.(3.5 stars). We stayed overnight in Mammoth so we could get to Yosemite early to hike Cloud’s Rest. Wanting to leave early, we were looking for a joint that serves a hearty breakfast before setting off on a 14+ mile hike. Tucked away beside a gas station, Stellar Brew is hard to find in the dark. But find it we did! We picked out a few grab and go items to try. Chai latte(spicy version): lovely spices and creamy. They do use a premix but the barista did such a great job of making it, I didn’t really mind at all. A little sweet but went well with the items we ordered. Way better than Starbucks version and definitely highly recommend. Burritos: they have a little heating cabinet that holds some premade burritos warm at the counter. We got ours early in the morning so they tasted pretty fresh. I am not sure if others may have the same experience though if they come later. The bacon/cheese/egg combination was solid and reasonably priced around $ 6. The vegan(tofu/potato/kale/onion/carrot) was a tad on the sweet side but good. The potatoes could have been parboiled a bit longer as texturally they were a bit too firm for my taste. Overall, for $ 7, this was a really filling meal and satisfying enough to last me all day. FYI — the burritos went well with the organic ketchup. Muffins: freshly baked on premises and still warm from the oven when we ate them. Blueberry bran was alright — it needed more blueberries and perhaps a tad more sweetness. It was a bit bland in flavor(needs more vanilla or spices). Morning glory muffin was good. More dense and moist than the blueberry muffin, this was loaded with carrot/apple/raisins. Had a nice crust on top as well. Would recommend this over the blueberry. Overall, this place is a good value for what it is and I was happy we were able to find it open so early. The food is okay and definitely better than the highly processed food you’d get at Starbucks.(3.5 star review)
