Good service, good atmosphere, disgustingly bland and aged food. Although made in house, the peanut sauce and curry sauces tasted like the came straight out of the refrigerator and tasted as bland as white bread. We ordered 5 star spice for both of our dishes… one came out with no spice, the other with some thing close to search sauce. Totally UN impressed with the kitchen and their ability to produce consistent, tasty food. Will never return.

Should have read the review before I ate here. Don’t claim to serve authentic Thai food when u use linguini noodles for pad see ew. What an embarrassment! Don’t eat here. Go to Roberto’s and have some Mexican food instead. I opted to eat left overs Mexican food I had last night instead of this crappy(not)Thai food

Don’t waste time getting here. Food was very bad. Tofu were stinking. My wife ordered Pad Thai which was also disappointing. I would say try other restaurants in town.

Went here about a year ago and it was significantly better than our meal today. For $ 15 the portion of curry was way too small. Barely enough for one person. Not to mention the wings and curry lacked the flavor that we enjoyed last time and instead tasted bland. To top it off we were charged extra for some more rice to go with the minuscule amount we were given. Not sure what changed but unfortunately will not be eating here again.

One of the worse meals I’ve eaten. And the prices for the dishes, outrageous. $ 13.50 for a bowl of tasteless Pad Thai that doesn’t include rice. A bowl of fried rice so salty we couldn’t eat it and had to mix it with plain white rice. Over cooked salmon. The house salad with wilted lettuce. My pad Thai and salad cost me $ 20. Seriously highway robbery for tasteless food. I’ve had better Thai for less in Thai town in Hollywood to Venice, CA. The menu and the chef need an overhaul. I can’t believe some reviews who raved about the food. There must be a secret menu or something for these folks to give it a good review. Or they just don’t have taste buds. Stay away.

Don’t believe all the crazy reviews left by pretentious people who have hilarious demands. This place is WONDERFUL! Yes. All caps. Normally I don’t go anywhere without reading Unilocal first. Sort of lame, I know. But we were driving around looking for something good and the place I Unilocaled was EMPTY. That’s never a good sign, so we ended up at Thai’d Up and the place was full of Mammoth locals. The food is fresh and flavorful and the portions are good. They were knowledgable about food allergies. Many food items are GLUTENFREE. The curries and soups and salads were all delicious and the best thing is the coconut ginger sorbet made in house! Can’t wait to come back to Mammoth and enjoy it again!

I wish I had read some of the reviews before going. We went there with high hopes. We were told it gets packed at opening with a long wait if you miss the initial seating. They were up front stating it would be a 25 – 30 minute wait and the food would take longer because the kitchen is backed up. So we placed our order while we waited for our table. The pork shank was very good and I would highly recommend it. However, everything else went downhill from there. The shredded coconut and basil covered chicken strips(kid’s meal) were a bit over cooked. The coconut shreds were black. The flavor was decent for adults but not for kids. The Pad Thai shouldn’t be labeled as that. It wasn’t even recognizable as Pad Thai. It’s more like noodles drenched in soy sauce with garlic chips on top. Pad Thai is a basic dish for a Thai restaurant. To not able cook it right it’s like a burger place not knowing how to make a burger! Very shocking. The«Friday/Saturday special» Sticky Mango Rice was another disappointment. It was served COLD. Never have I had it cold. On the menu it was labeled as steamed rice with mango chunks and cream. I assumed it would be severed warm like any other Thai restaurants. We let the first waitress know the Pad Thai noodle was nothing close to a real Pad Thai. She just politely said okay and walked away. When it came time to pay the bill, the second waitress came at the end and said she could have taken it off the bill«if we hadn’t eaten most of it». Obviously no communication. Most good restaurants I’ve been to have always offered to take off the dish or replace with another if there is truly something wrong there. We ate some because we waited closed to an hour to get our food. If we’d put in a new order, we’d had to wait another 45 minutes. We discovered that after were were done the restaurant was pretty empty. So they get hit with a full crowd right at opening, but by 7:30−8pm it’s empty with nobody waiting. Hopefully they can figure out Thai food, but this sure isn’t Thai food.

This place is so gross. Not thai at all! Waited 1 hr to give them my money… The girl working the front was rude… Then she apologizes when you pick up the food but at that point it really doesn’t matter anymore. Not even run by Thai people, nor asians. This place is so gross. Not thai at all! Not even run by Thai people, nor asians. Ordered the 2 soups(tom yum and tom kha) and both were not sour(obviously lemon grass was non existent) and there was broccoli in the tom yum soup… so weird. My pineapple fried rice had no flavor and didn’t have a hint of being Thai. Also ordered a couple pad thai’s and shrimp fried rice. All a miserable fail. So glad our airbnb condo had siracha to save everyone from going hungry…

Quick friendly service, excellent tasting dishes, best of all Singha Beer! After a long day of POW’ing, we got Thai’d up and are extremely happy. Not the best Thai food compared to Portland or Bangkok but definitely better than Thai Spice! Small restaurant with only 7 tables so come early, come hungry, and leave satisfied! Looking forward to another day of awesome powder! Cheers!

A person in our party recommended Thai’d Up for dinner. So naturally, I Unilocaled That’d Up and was hesitant about coming here. Note: Thai’d Up is the only Thai restaurant in Mammoth. The restaurant itself is pretty small that can probably accommodate about 15 – 20 people. I asked the hostess how long the wait was and she said 30 minutes for dining in and 2+ hours for take out. It was a pretty obvious choice and we all opted for dine in. We ordered spring rolls and Tom Yum soup for starters. For entrees, we ordered the panang chicken curry and pineapple chicken fried rice. Within 15 minutes of ordering, our spring rolls and Tom Yum soup arrived. To be honest, it was pretty terrible. The spring rolls were lukewarm and very very bland. Even with the dipping sauce that it came in, it was terrible! The Tom Yum soup was also lukewarm as well. The soup was watery, diluted and unflavored. 15 minutes passed by after our starters were served and we still didn’t receive our entrees. Half an hour passed by and still no entrees. I waved down the waitress to question our entrees and she just said«We’re busy, it’s coming!». It took approximately 45 minutes to receive our entrees. The panang chicken curry was decent, but for some reason the chicken seemed off. The pineapple fried rice was just terrible. No flavor and skimpy chicken. I have to agree with most of the Unilocalers here and won’t be coming back.

This place is Chinese food. Just know that going in. The food is pretty good for what it is. A couple other points: — The reviews about long wait time is no joke and not a fluke. We ordered pick up on New Year’s Day at 5 pm and took 2.5 hrs to be ready. 2.5 hours!!! — Lettuce wraps, cashew chicken and parang curry chicken all were good options — although wayyyy more Chinese flavors than Thai. They don’t have brown rice :(Spice level 4 and 5 were good spicy, not crazy. If you go just have the right expectations and a lot of time!

Don’t be fooled by the small interior. This place served a fantastic lunch! Our service was prompt. The food came out hot and quickly.(Can’t say that for any of the other restaurants we’ve visited in Mammoth this week. We were starting to think it was impossible to be served warm food here.) We ordered a spring roll app, Tom Kah soup, the oyster stir fry, and the yellow massaman. All were fantastic! Beautiful fresh herbs and seasoned just right. Spectacular views too!

Horrible, just horrible!!! They sat our family with 2 little kids right away and then made us wait an hour for our food. Kids were going nuts from hunger and their response when we complained was basically too bad, were busy. Even the owner had an attitude and didn’t care that we were waiting for so long. They didn’t offer any food right away to appease our hungry kids nor did they offer to comp anything, not even our 2 beers when we got the check. We used to come here all the time, but never again!!! More over the discourteous and unprofessional way they handle our wait than for the wait itself…

Wow I wouldn’t call this place disgusting, that’s a little harsh. Yes, service is slow, the food isn’t authentic & it’s a bit overpriced, but it was a pretty decent meal. We ordered the khao soi, pad thai, and the ribs. The khao soi was bland. The level 5 spicy pad thai was not spicy. I got the green tea & they served me a tazo tea bag. I was really hoping for jasmine tea. If you feel like thai food, definitely stop by but if you’re starving go somewhere else.

Customers beware: Unfortunately i had to give an undeserving 1 star in order to make a review about this place. The experience was definitely below standard. I felt like they should’ve just served us the food for free with that long wait, and poorly handled customer service. We were in for some late nite foodie run hoping to find an asian fusion flare around town. We saw their sign and decided to check it out. The place was small, and looked like a slow nite(Sunday around 7ish). We were then greeted by a female waitress. She immediately took our order and the rest went downhill from there. We waited for an agonizing 30 mins. of unattended attention from the staff. At first she took our order and i asked for hot water and my daughter wanted hot green tea. I was disappointed when she brought us warm green tea and lukewarm water. I was eager to call her out on it but my husband told me to disregard the complaint. The other staff later confirmed when he offered a refill that they microwave their water. Immediately i was flabbergasted at the idea of serving microwaved water. That kind of practice would warrant a de-service to the customers and raise an eyebrow to fellow asian restaurants. The overall quality of service was sub par. The servers spent a lot time chit-chatting among themselves including the staff in the kitchen. At the time we were still waiting for our food. The other server offered me a refill on my lukewarm water but later on forgot to bring it back after I called over to his attention while chatting away with the other staff. I often looked over at the kitchen and I saw two chefs or should I say inexperienced cooks just doing nothing just lolly-gagging and staring at other customers.(No wonder the lack of attention to the quality of food). By that time our order nearly took 40 mins. after my poor husband had to politely asked to check in our order. Absolutely NO customer relations from the staff and unapologetic about long wait. To add insult to injury, the total bill was a let down after we payed $ 57+ for 3 simple to make dishes, an appetizer, a pot of green tea, not to mention my lukewarm water. We ordered pad se-ew. Yes it was ewww disgusting. The noodles used was not meant for the dish and the flavor was awful. It was like the whole bottle of soy sauce accidentally poured into the dish! The pad thai needed rescue. The 10 pcs. buffalo wings were served cold and way spicy than what we requested. The chicken panang, lets just say I’ve had better ones. And the steamed rice was old and dry. I felt so bad for this place. Its too bad its the only establishment that serves thai cuisine: that means no competition, therefore no choice if you’re like me craving for some good rad-na or pad thai. I dont think I would be eating here again. Just saying

I rarely give one star reviews but this place seriously doesn’t even deserve a star. How is this place even still in business? I’m so serious. My friends and I visited Mammoth for the day before heading out to Yosemite the next morning. We decided to grab some Thai food(we all love Thai food) and placed an order to go to head back to our condo. Little did we know, we would have to wait an hour for our food and when we finally got back to eat it… it was DISGUSTING! There’s no over exaggerating just how bad it was. I couldn’t even finish eating it. I’ve never had Thai food that tasted so bad. It was like someone literally opened up a box of one of those Thai noodle bowls you can make at home and threw it in a to go box. The curry looked like beef stroganoff no lie. The pai thai noodles were dried with no flavor. Just because you sprinkle peanuts and throw a lime on noodles doesn’t make it pai thai. And the worst was the jasmine rice that was burned and hard at the bottom. How do you mess up rice? Rice?! They even have the nerve to charge extra for the«preparation» of their curries because they«make everything fresh». BS! It’s another way for them to get another dollar or two out of you. While I waiting for an entire hour for my food, I watched the two guys in the back(I won’t even call them Chefs) fumble around with pots and pan. I never saw anything made fresh. LOCATION Thai’d Up is a hole in the wall location in a little strip mall. I think there max capacity was like 20 people including all employees. You will literally be touching the other party at the next table it’s so small in there. PARKING The parking lot was so empty with plenty of open spots. I should’ve known something was wrong when the parking lot was that empty. CUSTOMERSERVICE The two ladies working the front were nice and did their best to continue telling us «your food is almost ready» for over an hour but after their second attempt, I was regretting even stepping into that crappy restaurant and shoving them my money. All I can say is don’t be fooled by the Thailand photo slide show or the cultural art they have on the walls. This is no Thai restaurant and if I was from Thailand, I would be so embarrassed and upset that they are calling the crap they cook and sell to the public authentic Thai food because it’s clearly nothing even near the delicious and flavorful Thai food I’ve had in the past. You think I’m not giving this place a fair shake? Drive over and try it for yourself. And to all the people on Unilocal saying this place is great have NEVER had real Thai food. Your tastebuds deserve better and so do you. Don’t get«Thai’d Up» here… skip it and try something better.
