This is my second experience with SolaTube skylights. LOVE the quality of the product and results! Called Amazing Skylights to help with my West-facing kitchen and a dark bathroom. Rich and his team did a superb job! Two skylights were put in the kitchen, one routing sunlight from the South-East exposure and another South-West, so my kitchen is filled with a ton of light starting first thing in the morning and into the evening. Before these, we had to have lights on at all times, and now, no need to burn electricity! One of the kitchen skylights has a light kit as well. Bathroom skylight was installed with a fan, looks and works great! They even found and fixed a leak on our roof for one of the rusted vents. I also chose OptiView fixtures for my skylights and they look gorgeous. If you want it done right, call Amazing Skylights. They have been doing this for many years and SolaTube product is top notch. No leaks, no problems, and way cheaper and brighter than a traditional skylight. My kitchen has a traditional ceiling skylight and the amount of light it brings in does not come close to a 14 inch tubular skylight.

Well, it’s aptly named… and you will LOVE the result. I had long known about solar tubes and called this company because I couldn’t reach the other skylight specialist I had previously used. I wanted to try a solar tube for the top of the basement staircase. Ohmigosh, you should see the difference… TRY not to say amazing. You won’t be able to… A friend called them for an estimate based on my recommendation, she was nothing less than thrilled with the result. TRY not to say amazing. This thing will make a huge difference in your home, nothing pleases more or refreshes a room, than does natural overhead light. The installation depends completely on how the roof is configured. In my case the estimator didn’t indicate that there would be a problem, but when the installers came, they said: ‘maybe not’, because without drilling a hole, they didn’t know if the old roof and the addition’s roof would tie in. If it didn’t, there would be a $ 75 charge to restore the ceiling with a patch. The minute he cut, he announced we had a winner, and did we ever. TRY not to say amazing. In my friends case, they have a townhouse of certain vintage and when the installers cut, they found a firewall. Instead of an overhead, they got the solar tube light to a sidewall, it makes a huge welcome difference to the top of the staircase. The cost for the self– contained solar tube with installation is more than reasonable. The installers took less than half an hour, cleaned up everything. Shane is the woman in the office, she is knowledgeable and pleasant to work with — -a joy, really. My next call to Amazing Skylights will be to get a solar tube from the roof to the ceiling of the overhang created by the addition. This will enliven the area by bringing not just light, but visual interest. I’ll have to give up closet space due to the configuration of living space which is ‘in the way’, but 14″ isn’t much of a give –up …the result for the money is totally worth it. Call these good folks at Amazing Skylights… treat yourself to a simple, low cost, buy– it-once and forget it, home improvement. Like my friend and me — -you will go around the house looking for another place to install… kitchen? carport or garage? Dressing closet? shower stall? Hallway? Kids room? Check out Amazing Skylights website for ‘before and after’ pics and information about federal tax credits for some models. Take a look at my pictures of how my installation turned out… amazing…there, I’ve said it.
