Met some friends at the new BadWolf location on Kao Drive. What a difference in size from the original location on Center Street which is still open and doing small batch experimental beers. The new location is at least ten times bigger… the bar is enormous and is made in the same style with hundreds of beer caps and other small objects of interest to contemplate while enjoying a pint. They had plenty of large tables available, but they fill up quick. Their new brew system is ten barrel and quite impressive. Tours are available and very educational and you can keep the cool pint glass. They have ten beers on tap plus on the weekends they open a firken. With so many choices we went with a six beer flight and ordered a pizza to be delivered. Loved Clair’s Vanilla Porter and the Monument Coffee Stout. The AK-47 was also a winner. It was a great evening catching up with our friends and enjoying some outstanding craft beers. This place has hit a home run in our book. We’ll be back…

Yesterday was my first visit to BadWolf. Even though I’m not a huge fan of beer I really enjoyed it and I would definitely return. The brewery is tucked away in a very obscure location… An industrial park off of Euclid ave. in Manassas… Right next to OP high school. I got super lost but eventually found it. They don’t open until 4pm on weekdays… But they opened the doors 15 mins early for my group(much appreciated)! Once inside I was impressed… The space is huge inside with large tanks for brewing beer. There are a number of wooden tables, some couches, and shelves with dozens of games. The tables have quotes and pictures drawn on them with sharpies. There are white lights strung up, and there is bar seating for tastings. I don’t like IPA beers and they had a lot of them… However I was still able to enjoy a full tasting(6 mini glasses) with lighter, less hoppy beers. Our server made some great suggestions! I enjoyed most of them! Some were crisp with a fruity finish, others were heavier with a vanilla and coffee flavors. I recommend doing full tasting so you can see what you like. They will even fill up growlers so you can take some home. My only disappointment was that they didn’t have any food except for chips(this explains my 4 star rating). I did love the super spicy Route 11 habanero chips… But would have loved to have more to eat after all that beer. They do allow you to order food for delivery(they provide you with menus) and sometimes they have food trucks. Overall cool spot, hidden gem I’ll be back!

Once again they have done it! BadWolf time and time again continues to deliver fantastic beer at a great price. The new location is bigger, better, and even more fun than the last. I can’t wait to see what awesomeness comes from this location!

10 different hand made beers in a simple industrial style setting. Loved the coffee stout.

Stop in and take a seat and check out the brews at BadWolf Brewing. I did and there were no regrets. =)

This place should be a destination for anyone looking to try some good local beers/breweries in the DC area. This place originally opened in the same shopping center as my friend and I bought our ingredients for home brew. We decided to check this brewery out during one of those trips and were very surprised with how good the beers were. We were not expecting to find such a good brewery in a shopping center, but the beers there were outstanding. I’ve since made it a go-to spot for grabbing a good beer whenever I’m out in Manassas. They’re constantly rotating the beers that they brew at this place and each of them are equally as good, which is a surprise considering the number of styles that they do. Although, I preferred the intimacy of the old location, they did a very good job with the new location and it is definitely more spacious and lively.

Big Bad Wolf The original location of this place is a tiny little outlet about a mile away. This location is much bigger with seating and a much larger selection of beers. They even have keg service at this location. It’s a very big, cavernous place. It’s open. From the door you can see the bar, tables as well as the production area. It’s spacious. It’s like a warehouse. They serve some snacks, but it’s not much. They let you bring in food from outside if you want. One guy brought a pizza. How cliché. I’ve been there to pick up some growlers. They have this Jalapeño IPA which is without a doubt the best beverage I have ever had in my 10 years of being a beer drinker. I love this stuff. At the smaller Badwolf they had it every now and then, but at this location it seems to be a standard. It is so good. There are many different varieties, something for everybody. I’ve also been there on a Friday night or two just sitting, drinking and joking and jiving. They had a live band. It was just a three piece: drums, acoustic guitar and electric guitar. I have hearing damage in my left ear so the sound was almost overwhelming for me but not quite. The band played until I don’t know… 9 or 10 p.m. It was nice. Not too crowded. I drank a few pints of my beloved Jalapeño IPA.

Grand opening on Friday 8÷14÷2015. James & I stopped in on Saturday to check out the Big BadWolf. It’s 6,000 square feet of brewing space that is open and airy with a nice huge bar and plenty of open seating. This new operation has a 10 barrel brewing system with rotating brews. I had the Citra Saison which seems to be a regular favorite, James has the ESB, Extra Special Bitters. Claire is always bubbly and pleasant and gave us the scoop on the new location. They plan to have live acoustic entertainment inside and will have outdoor bands outside in the back. Really good beer in an exceptional space, they even have a foosball table!
