I stumbled on to this historic spot. There is a parking area in front of a pond. I spotted a deer in the grass. After reading about the fort I headed down the short path. Saw to benches on the way. The path started to be covered with leaves and I saw one area is closed for wildlife. The other area ends in a leafy covered circle with benches. There was a camping tent in the middle that was not completely set up. No one was around. Was not clear if someone is staying in the tent or if it was just left there. There was no fort foundation to see. There is no bathroom here and it is near the highway and airport so small planes are low overhead and you can hear cars going by. The area needs some upkeep! Highlight of my visit was seeing the deer and a Bald Eagle.
