As an actual library, it’s just ok and yes a little run down but what we love is the children’s area. It’s cordoned off so my kids have somewhat of a freedom to explore in this area plus the toys and magnetic wall are awesome. Nice alternative to mall play area or pricey play areas in my opinion.

Very rude and harsh librarians, especially to children. There is no quiet area in the library. Cell phone conversations are allowed and so are meetings. Even the librarians are loud. If you study here, take ear plugs. I wish there was a better library, but this is closest to my house. Bull Run is not convenient for us.

Definitely a little run down. The selection isn’t that great, but they can order books from other branches, so that’s good. My biggest complaint would be the crabby librarians. They are begrudgingly helpful, and borderline rude. This might sound«ageist» but the crabbiness is something I would expect from an older person, but the median age here had got to be around 40. If I have time, I try to hit up Bull Run Library. They librarians are marginally less crabby, but the facility is much nicer.

During a typical weekday, there is no quiet place in the library. I suppose this is normal in the modern world devoid of respect or discretion(or rules). It is not quiet near the stacks nor back in the periodicals area. I guess it depends on what one considers to be «appropriately quiet.» Rather loud conversations between people who find this a nifty meeting place to talk about business or legal issues, or cell phone talkers, can be quite irritating and forces one to wear earphones or otherwise block out the kind of noise one used to go to the library to avoid. Yes, there is plenty of parking, checkout of books is fast and easy, and it’s not terribly crowded during the weekday. The selection of books is appropriately meager for a branch like this.
