He got into yet another a standoff with my 7 year old last week. Usually they go 2 or 3 minutes. This time he spent, and I am not kidding, 7 or 8 minutes of lesson time repeating the same question over and over. «What did I say about this note?» «I don’t know» (40 seconds of silence) «What did I say about this note?» «I don’t remember» (1 minute of silence) over and over. Couple of things to know. You kids are not allowed to turn around and look at you, you’re not allowed to speak to your kid during lessons(I called my son’s name out on two occasions and Joe flipped), and he fully expects to keep money for lessons he cancels. His enthusiasm made up for his quirks up until last week. We are off to greener pastures.

Joe is a great teacher and I was able to learn a lot from his lessons. This was my first piano lessons as an adult and he had very helpful tips that allowed me to learn faster than I anticipated. That helped motivate me more to take on more challenging pieces I never though I could do. Another additional bonus is that you can still get help from him outside the lessons. He’s always happy to answer any questions about piano through email between lessons. Also, if you do not have a proper piano at home, he allows students to use his piano at anytime that it is not being used by others.

It’s rare to come across standout talent like Joe. I have had the pleasure of having Joe as my client. I’ve worked with him for the past few months on several projects, and have also had the pleasure of hearing him play the piano on several occasions! I was particularly impressed by Joe’s professionalism and attentiveness, as well as enthusiasm – it is such an ease to work with him. Talk about a great client! If I would ever pick up playing the piano, Manassas Joe would be the place for me to go!
