Let me start by saying I am a medical professional, registered nurse specializing for 12 years in in-patient obstetrics. This practice was recommended to me by another medical professional. I am new to the area and wanted to make a new patient appt. That being said I called the office and was asked immediately what insurance I have. Which is standard today. After only stating my first insurance as I have 3 Susan immediately stated they didn’t take that insurance and would not make me an appt. I tried to explain I was covered on two other carriers as well as would be willing to self pay and bill insurance myself, but before I could I was placed on hold again. By then I was becoming frustrated, when she returned she said she would transfer me to the business office for what I’m not sure, then after being on hold for another 5 minutes comes back on the line. I begin to try and tell her I know how the system works and asked if the office took money? She then transferred me to the clinical manager who heard what I had to say and apologized for Susan’s behavior. The sad thing is I had already made up my mind they didn’t need my business. Susan in the front office is completely inappropriate and incompetent. The sad thing is the doctors are probably wonderful but when u can’t get passed the unprofessional receptionist it doesn’t matter how great they are.
