This place is great but you have to accept it for what it is — a grocery store catering to the large Latino population in the area — a less affluent, likely first/second generation American population. So to me it’s nothing but authentic and a lot of fun. It’s super busy on the weekends and the reason is that the selection is great, produce is way above average, and prices are low. Don’t forget to grab a frozen chocolate dipped banana at the front for just $ 1(last I checked).

This place is now called«Mega Mart». The ownership has changed again. It is now targeted to Latinos. It used to be like a global place that attempted to stock food for various cultures, but now it’s only targeted to Latinos in the area. I’m guessing it was a good move because the place is packed on the weekends. We try to pick a time to go to places when they’re not so crowded. On a Friday night most grocery stores are empty. But not Mega Mart. It’s even more packed on a Saturday afternoon. And Saturday afternoon is the time I prefer to go. «What?» you say, «but you just said you try to avoid crowds.» I do try to avoid crowds, but I like this crowd. It’s fun. There are a lot of pretty Latinas and a lot of cute kids. The fruits and vegetables area is much larger than most grocery stores. In addition to regular food that Americans like they have tropical pleasures like mangos and baby bananas and more varieties of peppers than one could ever imagine. They have a lot of fresh fish from live tilapia swimming in tanks to red snapper, live crabs, a half dozen varieties of shrimp and more, all fresh. They have a little restaurant to the left of the fish place. They have things like fried chicken or roasted chicken. It’s a small place with a small eating area. They have a tortilla bar. Some ladies are back there making tortillas by hand. They also bake a lot of cakes back in there. They have a half dozen workers making cakes. You can order a cake to your specifications if you want or you can take one off the shelf. They also bake bread and corn chips fresh. Another place is a meat and cheese counter where you can get fresh meats and various cheeses. The rest of the place is similar to other large supermarkets. They have a lot of workers for customer service. They always have somebody there bagging at each open cash register. All in all I give it a thumbs up. This review would not be complete without mentioning the Atol de Elote. I was in Honduras a few years ago when we stopped at a roadside business. Precious and her sister got a couple of styrofoam cups with a warm liquid. It smelled pretty good. When we got home, their dad wanted some, but they refused to give him any. He was mad. What was in there? Gold? Yes, Gold, Jerry. Gold! It was«Atol de Elote». Elote means corn and atol means mixture or something like that. Atol de Elote is a beverage served hot. It’s like a cross between a corn milk shake and corn pudding. It might not sound like the best drink ever, but Dios Mio it is delicious. And they serve this right in the front next to the door. If anyone reads this, try it, and then come back and thank me.

this isn’t my typical grocery that i would come to normally. this store reminds me of centreville branch where they just left old shoppers racks, orange tiles, and re owned it. I was craving for tofu for some reason but they don’t have any! whoah no tofu first time that ever occurred to me. mainly i saw was Goya, Latinos goods and 30 percent of asian products. Produce looks ok, meat, bakery, and seafood section. at least its cheap and good location right of route 28 pass yorkshire cvs. so i won’t come here if i have too. but prices are cheaper than other groceries. most stuff i bought was under $ 5! there’s no odor just typical grand-mart or MS Grand. i wish they would remodel someday, its a bit dirty folks and price labels arn’t there so u need to look around carefully.

The first thing you notice as you enter the store is a very powerful odor of something. I am not sure what it is, but you will definitely smell it. They didn’t do much renovation from the old versions of Shopper’s Food Warehouse. It still looks old and dingy. But everything seems to be fresh food wise. The milk and eggs prices are super good. I hope they stay. With the opening of this store and another international store close by. I hope to be able to expand the types of meals I prepare since the ingredients will be easily available.
