We hired the Grout Medic to repair some grout in our MBR shower and floor. As it turns out there was significant water damage. Throughout the project, the Grout Medic team was extremely professional, took pride in their work, communicated clearly, and kept us informed. We ended up retiling the entire shower, replaced the floor, and base board tiles. We would certainly hire again, if needed.

They just regrouted and recaulked our shower after my disastrous DIY job, and we were very pleased with their work. A bit expensive but worth it. They were professional, hard-working, and trustworthy again. If I ever botch a job that badly again, nice to know they’ll be there.

I wish that I could give this place more than 3 stars, because the job was well done in the end. However, I have to knock a couple of stars off because it did take multiple visits to get the job done as well as it is. I’ll start at the beginning. I contacted Grout Medic, and they came and gave me a free estimate. The price was quite fair, the people who did the estimate were polite, professional, on time, and thorough. I was very happy with my estimate. A week later, 3 men arrived to do the job: replace 2 rows of tile in my shower, re-grout and re-caulk the master shower, and re-grout/re-caulk the guest shower. The men arrived on time, were polite, and did the job in good time. Unfortunately, I was in the middle of a teleconference when they were done, and I didn’t have time to thoroughly review the job before they left. In my Master bathroom, caulk had been smeared all over the floor, and a place where there’d been a leak had been poorly sealed — it was still cracked. In my guest bath, they had used white caulk around the fixtures instead of the standard clear(which they used in the Master bath). They had also cracked a tile and chipped a couple other ones — nothing had been said to me. Fortunately, Grout Medic was very responsive when I called to alert them to what had happened. They sent someone out the next day to fix things; unfortunately, he was unable to replace the cracked tile, but Grout Medic sent someone again the day after that to replace the tile. In the end, the job was well done, and I appreciate that they came back out to fix the mistakes. Every technician was polite and on time. The price I was quoted was exactly what I paid. I would recommend The Grout Medic to others, but I would also recommend that you closely check any work you have done just to be sure everything is up to par. I believe the mistakes were made by only one of the men who was working on my bathrooms.

My rental property was having big issues with the Master bath. The previous owner’s did a terrible blotch job with the bath remodel and I was paying for it. The grout of the tiled shower floor kept chipping up in big pieces and wouldn’t cure currently no matter what I did. I had a contractor chip away all the old grout and re-grout between and around the tiles and let it dry for at least 48 hours, but within a week, the grout was chipping up again. This is when I started to call a few tile contractors to help resolve the issue. I wanted to redo the entire tile floor of the shower since it wasn’t even leveled completely. I had received 2 other quotes and they were ridiculously high. I finally called The Grout Medic and David came out to give me an estimate. Right off the bat, David was polite, friendly and on time. He put on little booties before coming into the house, which is very considerate. The Grout Medic’s quote came in about half of the other quotes so I decided to go ahead with them. The day the work was to be performed; the technical came on time and went immediately to work. He torn up all the old tile carefully and notified me that the wrong glue was used, which is why the grout kept chipping up. He worked for about 5 hours straight and the floor now looks beautiful and leveled correctly. The technician even cleaned up after himself. I even received 10% my total because I had an Angie’s List account. I decided to write this review on Unilocal because the company wasn’t listed on here yet and with my experience, I would definitely use them again. Their customer service, timeliness, and work were all excellent.

We’ve had the Grout Medic come into our house twice now to do some work. The first time was just over 3 years ago. The grout around the tile in tub area had given way in one spot which sprung a leak. When we saw the water stain on the ceiling right below the tub, we knew it was time to do something about it. The«Clipper» magazine that comes in the mail had an ad for the Grout Medic along with a coupon. So, we decided to give them a call and have them take a look at the bathroom. The owner of the franchise nearest to us, David Muirhead, came exactly when he said he would come. After looking over the bathroom, he came up with 2 separate plans to deal with fixing the problem. We told him we would discuss it and get back to him. Once we chose a plan of attack, he set up a time when his employees could come and do the work. They, too, showed up at the expected time. The job took 4 days and we were pleased with the work overall. We got the bathroom floor retiled, along with new tiles in the tub area, but one floor tile didn’t sit well. The guys came back to fix it. The one downside — the tile still didn’t sit right but we let it slide. Last month, seeing that the«Clipper» had another coupon, we decided to finally retile the other bathroom floors. Again, David Muirhead came out to take a look, describe how the work would be done and tell us the cost. This, too, was a 4 day job and the two guys who came out did a fantastic job. Plus, we finally got that loose tile properly fixed — and at no extra cost to us. If you need work done in your bathroom, I highly recommend calling the Grout Medic. When we first called them 3 or so years back, we called the Manassas office directly. Now a Canadian company owns the Grout Medic and the procedure is different. You call the 800 number and the Grout Medic closest to you is contacted.
