Nice rink, but in dire need of better adult supervision. The kid who was the ice Marshall was so wrapped up in braiding his girlfriends hair that the little hockey wannabes were tearing up the ice and ruining the family fun with their incessant rough housing.

Centreville, VA
The Harris Pavilion is a great spot to relax at during the weekends. Take a trip to the near by farmers market on a Saturday morning and pick up a little lunch to take and enjoy by the pavilion. There are many events held at the pavilion throughout the summer season and in the winter you can enjoy I’ve skating.

The farmers market is open for the season Thursday morning.
One winery, two butchers more than three bakeries, two produce vendors one selling plants for your garden.
The almond croissant was divine, the red velvet donuts were kind of Heavy. Out of all the olive oils garlic was my favorite.
Here you can buy the world’s biggest carrots which make excellent casino size chips. I will try the coffee next time.
Very good showing for the beginning of the year.

I gotta give Manassas some credit for attempting an outdoor skating rink when winter temperatures aren’t always remotely near the freezing point of water. I’ve been twice, once when it was actually cold enough to have ice, and once when the ice was about 30% liquid. The price is a little high (8 $ for an adult, without a rental) and the surface can be questionable, but I’ve always had a fun time skating here.

Harris Pavilion is located in downtown Manassas and functions as the cities civic center. It is the site of a farmers market on Thursday mornings, and many free concerts are scheduled on summer afternoons and weekends. It’s a good place to go with friends for an evenings entertainment. In my mind, it’s a good use of civic space and funds.

Family fun on the ice! The Harris Pavilion is turned into an ice rink from November to March. Christmas music and a nice family atmosphere when we visited on Dec 20. Good prices for skating and skate rentals.
