Great food at Tipicos. I’ve been here a few times and, each time, ordered something different. Each plate came out with plenty of food, great taste, and very filling. The location is in a slightly odd place right off Sudley. Almost sits in a residential area right behind the Bank of America.

This restaurant will prepare the food fresh as you order. Everything, including the tortillas are freshly made right after you order. The Queso Fundido is an awesome appetizer. The Lomo Salteado is a great dish.

Tipicos Los Reyes = the familiar kings. Very good authentic tex-mex. I had the Tacos Los Reyes, chicken, beef & chorizo with refries & rice. It was a nice meal for lunch @ $ 14.95. I really liked the addition of a fresh slice of avocado on each taco. In the space that was formerly Gunni’s Restaurant & Grill. It’s a nice open and well lit dining room with several large tables and a few booths. They have several wide screen HD’s for watching LaLiga soccer. The service is really good, even though it was the height of lunch time on a Saturday, i was immediately seated and given chips and salsa. I also like the festive traditional music on the sound system. The salsa was good, it has a nice smoky kind of flavor. A little more than casual, not quite upscale. More like 3 ½ stars over all.

I have tried all the tacos here and can testify that they are all on point — 5 stars. The lomo saltado was meh — 3 stars. I have ordered take out here on many occasions. I call ahead expecting to pick up a hot meal but usually they do not start cooking and preparing my food until I arrive at the restaurant. The inside of the restaurant is clean and this family run restaurant has consistently provided me with a smile and a full belly. The flan is delish!
