I originally stopped by the dive shop around January of 2014 to inquire about obtaining my Open Water Certification. Shortly thereafter I registered for classes and met a good group of individuals and have learned a tremendous amount from each of them. The staff are always eager to answer questions and recommend additional training and gear that fit my needs. Service has been outstanding the entire time and I’ve just completed my Advance Open Water training this past week in the Bahamas aboard a live aboard boat with a few staff from the dive shop. Overall the experience to learn to dive and be part of a dive shop that loves to dive and will steer me in the right direction is priceless. I highly recommend for those looking to get into scuba diving to give this shop a try you won’t be disappointed. Let’s face it there are only a few locations in our immediate Northern Virginia area to dive, but there are always several dive trips in warmer climates that are planned throughout the year through Virginia Scuba.

This place is the epitome of what a dive shop should be. Their staff is friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. On our visit we were approached as soon as we enter by one of the owners who proceeded to talk to us like we were old friends about the dives we’d done, where we still wanted to go, and about any training we wanted to accomplish. Their friendliness was infectious. While sitting and chatting with them we were introduced to several instructors, staff members, and everyone was kind and generous about sharing their dive stories, local dive knowledge, and offering to provide quality service, instruction, and sales. My wife and I were blown away by this shop and encourage anyone looking to do some diving in their area to check them out. You will not be disappointed!

I’ve had three very positive encounters with Virginia Scuba. The first encounter my wife and I came into the shop to kick the tires. We had learned how to dive in Australia and were scouting out shops to do business with here in Virginia. We met a man named Tige, with a lot of candor, information, and spirit. His tips about the local area were spot on.(Trust but verify, right) Our second encounter was a service drop off. I had purchased a trunk load of gear from a man on craigslist. PSA: Learn from my mistakes, don’t buy anything but weight and fins on craigslist when it comes to scuba gear. Anyway, the guys at the shop were kind by not calling me a moron straight away. They identified some gear that might be salvageable and I left it for service. While my gear was in the shop I received a couple of phone calls. After the tech had done some digging he was able to provide me with what could be repaired with confidence. Upon pickup of my gear several of the guys and gals came over to talk not only about the serviced items, but also to inquire about what sort of dives we would like to do. Where we would like to go next, etc. The experience overall was extremely positive, and I will return to for some of my future scuba needs.

Great Shop. I do most of my training there. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. They also have any gear you could ever want from entry level recreational diving gear to the most complex technical rebreather support. along with training for any type of diving you are interested in. This is definitely a hang out and relax type of dive shop. They are friends first!
