Tacos were Ok. Ribs and brisket did not taste good. I had two bites and threw rest out. I was with a party of 10 and everyone agreed with the taste and quality of food.

Went here today for the first time. I am pretty happy that there’s a BBQ place down 1626! The place is a little trailer with not much seating. It’s not ideal if you’re trying to bring more than four people to eat at once. They only have three picnic tables. Hoping this will change with more business. All seating is outside. You also order at a trailer window. It is CASHONLY! So be prepared because we were not! The food was good. Not exceptional when it’s pitted against the other amazing BBQ that we have in Austin but not bad. The menu is relatively small but it being a new business I wouldn’t see why they would need a large menu. The prices are also pretty standard. I got the brisket sandwich, which is just brisket on two pieces of Texas toast. I’m not going to complain because my brisket was pretty moist and fatty, which is how I like it. That was $ 6.50. The boy got a plate, which was double the price, but not really double the brisket. If you want more sides then go for that. But honestly the sandwich is where it’s at. I will for sure come here and continue to try it out as their technique, is hopefully, refined.

If I can give it 0 stars I would, because I got ripped off, stop by to get brisket. Ordered 3 pounds at 18.99 a pound, paid almost $ 60 for what was for sure only 1 pound. Didn’t say anything when he didn’t even weight it, didn’t even want to argue! Got home, taste it, was not even good, we threw it all away, not even my kids wanted the favor less meat!

My wishes have been granted! Driving down FM1626 and my daughter saw Slow Pokes Brisket Shack. We decided to turn around and go back and boy are we glad we did! There are just not any good bbq places in the south part of town — until now! We only tried the sliced brisket sandwich — $ 6.50. It was really good! Excellent smoked flavor, juicy and tender! The slightly sweet and tangy sauce was really good on the sandwich but you don’t even need it! Cant wait to try the sausage and tacos! The guy told us he had leased the spot for a year so we are happy campers!

Excellent brisket BBQ featuring brisket tacos for $ 5.95. I bought ½ lbs beef brisket for $ 10 and took it to go. Very moist and flavorful with great penitration of the rub into the beef. I loved the tangy but sweet BBQ sauce. This is an outdoor shack — like a food truck, but no wheels. Outdoor seating only.
