I read all the reviews and felt pretty good about reserving a room here, but boy was that a bad decision. It’s a little ways off the highway and the area around the Inn wasn’t very nice. When we pulled into the parking lot the grounds seemed nice enough. The room we were given was right next door to someone that lives there full time as well as the next room down. These two people were in front of their rooms smoking which meant we had to walk through the smoke to get into our room. The room was clean but very dated and not comfortable. The bathroom was very tiny and dated as well. The bed was horrible, squeaky springs, one side pushed up against the wall, so hard for 2 people to use. Then one of the full time residence stood in front of our door to smoke, I asked him to smoke elsewhere and he got confrontational with me. This is not a mom and pop feeling place, more like a flea bag motel.

My husband and I stayed in this lovely motel for one night. The grounds are meticulous and were very welcoming when we drove up. There was no «Bates Motel» feel, in fact, as we drove up it felt like going to an inn. Flowers were in all of the windowboxes and the few pops of color were bright and welcoming, nowhere near tacky. The manager in the office was extremely friendly and helpful, and the office itself was newly redone and very welcoming. The bed in our room was one of the most comfortable beds I’ve slept in in years! I believe they furnished the whole place from IKEA which means it is simple stylish and clean looking. As for cleanliness you could’ve eaten off of any surface in the room. Ample space to put our luggage, a table and chairs, a refrigerator etc. all made it a very enjoyable evening. To finish it off, we had our 50 lb. dog with us. He was welcome and there was plenty of space in the room as well as outside to walk him. I would recommend to anyone! Thank you for the lovely stay!

We stayed two nights, and would definitely recommend the Fairway Overnight & Extended Stay as a comfortable, very clean, and welcoming place to stay. It feels very much like staying with friends, rather than staying in a motel. The room is spacious, the beds are very comfortable, the appliances are modern and clean, and there is a pool and free wifi. It’s clear that the owner-operators take great pride in providing a wonderful experience for guests. We would definitely choose to stay here again!

Driving up or down the 95 in Maine, there are lots of places to stay. We chose Axell’s Scandinavian Inn after looking it up on Unilocal and finding a discount offer. On the phone, we had been quoted a rate of $ 99, but when we got there I mentioned the Unilocal offer. Although the clerk seemed a little surprised, she agreed to honor the discount. Aside from her frown of discontent over that, the clerk was friendly and helpful. The room was perfect: homey but not run-down, clean and fresh-smelling. The bed was comfy and the wifi worked. As motels go, this was just the way I like it. We’ll stop by again the next time we’re passing through. It’s just a few minutes off the highway. There’s a great bagel place down the road, Bagelmainea.

Extremely affordable, clean, comfortable, and homey roadside inn. Much much nicer than your typical chain roadside inn. Room had a lot of nice touches that made it feel like home. Also free wifi. Woman behind the checkin desk was very friendly.

This place was great. I stayed here one night. The room was quiet, was clean, and private. The owners are very nice and care about their business. The other tenants are pretty nice too.

First off, this place isn’t fancy. It’s a well-priced roadside motel. The rooms are very clean(YAY!), there’s an on-site laundry facility and the proprietors are clearly people who are in the hospitality industry, because this place is truly hospitible. My room came with a kitchenette. All of the rooms come with a little sitting area out front — which I imagine would be nice to use in the morning to drink your coffee and read the paper or to meet other travelers. It’s very quiet here and they have BBQ facilities and some outdoor socialization areas. What a great find! Should I ever find myself in the Augusta, ME area again, I’d definitely stay here. It’s a shame I can’t do a second day.
