This chain has really gone down. They used to have a nice little area that provided free gift wrapping for purchased products. They got rid of that. The 20% coupons have turned into 15% off coupons. They no longer take expired coupons. In addition they have all these stipulations when using their coupons, reward bucks or even when making a return. Basically you never get the full benefit of the savings. I cannot understand why this corporation has gotten so frugal with it’s customers. This is the only major baby retailer, therefore it isn’t like they have lost a significant amount of business to competition. Unfortunately I still have to shop here, because stores like Target and Sears do not have the large variety of items that Babies R Us carries. Whenever I can, I try to shop at these alternative stores just to avoid the hassle and hidden rules that comes with shopping at Babies R Us. Finally, the customer service is horrendous! Everyone is extremely rude(from management to customer service to cashier).

Very helpful Staff. I came to this location to do my Registry since they have a better selection than the one in West Hartford. They were happy to pull up the registry I had started online and give me a Scanner so I could start Zapping away. Was here for 3 hours!!! Ugh, they were nice to give me a bottle if water so would stay hydrated. The store is pretty organized which makes it easy to find what your looking for. I will agree it is hard to find certain sizes when looking at the clothing, but I handled it well. The hard to find items were located by asking the registry desk helpers. They were very nice and patience with me… I will be back…

One of the store manager’s is one of the rudest people I have ever encountered in the customer service industry. Sheila. I had a problem w her in March of 2013 and again this past week. She is inconsiderate, her words and actions prove that she thinks she is always right(instead of the customer). Besides that, the rest of the staff is pleasant, the store is clean and some of the deals are good.

This is the nearest baby r us to me it’s also the one with a wider selection of baby gear surprisingly. Now that doesn’t mean you will always find what you need but the basic mid level goods are all here. The store is mainly clean and organized minus the 2+ girl selection, which you will have to dig through more and sizes seem to be limited. Located close to the highway it’s a good location, ample parking, there is even a special close parking spot for expecting mommies.. Although rude locals tend to ignore this sign and will park here when it doesn’t apply to them as they do at BJ’s Wholesale. The reason why I can only give it 3 stars is because of the horrid costumer service I’ve witnessed the past 4 years. If you don’t usually need help finding anything or have to move a heavy item off the shelves, place orders to be picked up in store etc so otherwise deal with staff this won’t be an issue to you. The attitude is generally a sigh and rolling of the eyes. The lines will move fast at the register most of the time and things seem pretty good until questions of the useless coupons rise, as you know they are useless and if you read the fine print you will see it excludes 99% of what’s in store.

I don’t have kids, so I seldom shop in baby stores, but I have a nephew on the way, so I stopped in to buy some things off my sister’s registry. Pros: The registry counter was easy to find. The woman who printed the list helped me sort of figure out where the sections were. I encountered a few employees while I was walking around who helped me find what I needed. Checkout was easy, they gave me coupons on the way out for my next visit, and a gift receipt without asking. Cons: Wow, it’s overwhelming. This store is HUGE. And for someone like me who isn’t up on all the baby products, it’s confusing to walk in with a list and try to make a good decision.(What’s the difference between regular and all-natural butt paste? What’s a nursery wipe, and is it the same as a baby wipe?) It would have been helpful if there was a directory somewhere, because the registry lists which aisles the products are in, but it’s hard to figure out which section is A, B, C, etc. The woman at the registry counter, did a quick, «Bedding is there, clothing is there, blankets are there» kind of thing, but I was really new to this store, so I didn’t retain most of that. Luckily, like I said, I encountered a few employees to help me out. I’m sure I will shop here again. Maybe after a repeat visit it will be easier to navigate.

This is the only BRU in the area! Prices are pretty high, which is very much in line with this chain. That being said, they carry baby gear that you just cannot find anywhere else. You can get Medela pump parts here that otherwise would have to be ordered online. They have a HUGE selection of clothing, feeding supplies, furniture, layette and car seats/strollers. The safety gear section is on the smaller side, which is surprising. Using the registry is relatively seamless, which is very nice for a first timer. The clearance section is in the rear, left corner of the store, behind the mattresses. Random items can be found here at pretty good prices. In general, this is a full retail store. Do not expect to find bargains on anything. BUT, do expect to be able to find very specialized or unusual baby care items within these walls.
