I did not care for the food or service or atmosphere. I thought it was beyond boring and very bland. The service was rude, I came in 40 mins before closing and I thought I was going to be shot. I clearly was not welcome. They didnt bother to even make sure my eggs were at least room temp… This place is just gross. No thanks

My friends and I were in town for the weekend and we were looking for a tasty, local breakfast place on Saturday morning. Boy, were we lucky to find this place! Large portions, good prices, and very, very(very!) tasty fare. Their namesake is well-deserved as their biscuits and fluffy and fantastic. We collectively tried their biscuits and gravy, maple-cream French toast, omelette, pork pie, and eggs benedict. All were scrumptious. We may have to come back tomorrow!

Butter My Biscuit has become my regular breakfast spot. They feature a special pancake that changes weekly. I have not been disappointed with a flavor yet. The plain Buttermilk pancakes are great too. My husband likes his eggs over easy and his home fries extra done; not a problem here. He appreciates that they listen to your requests and cook your food the way you order it(he has gotten eggs over hard and barely cooked home fries at too many places to count). At Butter My biscuit they always get it right. The service is as good as the food. The staff are friendly and attentive. The staff check on your coffee regularly and anything else you might need. Your can’t miss the purple building where it’s located. You wouldn’t guess from the outside, but it’s very roomy on the inside. It’s a cute little breakfast spot. PS– They also make muffins and desserts like cookies and brownies. They change the flavors on these weekly and their are only one or two available at a time,.

I’ve been to Butter My Biscuit a few times for breakfast, and it’s been a good experience each time. I have a friend in the neighborhood who swears that Butter My Biscuit has better French-Canadian cuisine than the better-known Chez Vachon, and on our last visit we walked well past Chez Vachon in the cold to get breakfast, pork pie and all, at Butter My Biscuit. The space is nothing special – an odd building whose only windows are glass block, with copious amounts of hallway space inside. But that keeps the dining area a bit more intimate, and with a long bar along the far wall when you walk in, it offers counter and table seating. I wonder if they could ever run a small, neighborhood bar in the same space after hours? After all, pork pie and a porter would go together quite nicely after a day of work. The service has always been friendly, attentive and with a bit of the acerbic New Hampshire wit that I miss from home. The food is the real draw though. I don’t recall seeing any poutine on the menu, but they nail the traditional French-Canadian dishes like pork pie and gorton. The one weak spot on the menu that I’ve noticed are the home fries, which would really benefit from the addition of onions and peppers. Overall, though, the food is very good and priced extremely fairly. I haven’t been to Chez Vachon in years, so I can’t speak to their comparative quality, but I love the idea of a friendly dispute among lovers of French-Canadian comfort food about which is the best bet on the West Side, sort of like a mini version of the disputes over cheesteaks in Philadelphia or pizza in New Haven. If that’s ever going to happen, though, then Butter My Biscuit needs a name that rolls off the tongue a little better – like Saindone’s, the name of the old market whose pork pie and gorton recipes they use. I think the name is here to stay, but as long as the pork pie is too, then I really can’t complain.

The food here is very creative and very good. Service is also very good. I gave this place a 3 star rating because the outside of the building is awful. I would never eat here based on the outside. We only went in because we live in the town and we were curious. However, i’m glad we did because the food is good.

Note: I plan to go to Butter My Biscuit again and try some more items to give a more comprehensive review, especially since I only had the chance to try one menu item. I stopped by Butter My Biscuit, which is Manchester’s latest«this came from that» stories. BMB used to be Sub Contractors, a dive bar on the west side, and it’s been converted into a very cute breakfast joint. The outside looks a little like a small warehouse, but when you go in you see a well-detailed and very spacious dining area. I went in on Sunday morning and grabbed a table for one. Their menu is pretty standard issue, and other people do a better job describing this than I can. I passed on the coffee and ordered a four-egg vegetarian omelet with swiss cheese. I also got a side of wheat toast. I was rather impressed by the amount of good I got. The four egg omelet was clearly four eggs and took up a lot of the plate. Compared to other breakfast places in the city, it was extremely hearty and filling. The two slices of wheat toast were nice, although I didn’t quite get the point of the orange slice on the plate. It wasn’t big enough to be of any substance and added an odd citrus flavor to the eggs. The omelet was well cooked: it was fluffy but not browned, and had a pleasing texture. However, there were some flaws. First, it was pretty much devoid of flavor. I know giving eggs flavor can be tough, but the vegetables tasted like they were formerly frozen(I don’t think they were, but they had no taste) and the eggs were just filler. Even the copious amount of salt and pepper I used couldn’t fix that up. Additionally, there were just pockets of vegetables. I could eat a large piece of the omelet without finding a stray pepper, and then come across a cache where peppers, onions, and mushrooms spilled out. Also, if there was swiss cheese in there, I couldn’t taste it. I think that part of my order was just missed to be honest. The service was fine. They were prompt and moved at a fair pace. I don’t want to blame the server for the swiss cheese miss, it’s quite possible I said it too low to hear. I was a bit annoyed that I was brought the bill right after I finished instead of being asked if I wanted anything else(coffee, tea, or more food). I was actually planning on ordering some home fries or even some pancakes but that was skunked. But that will have to wait for another time. I’m not a big breakfast fan, so I don’t know how often I’ll go to BMB, but between the volume of food and the relative speed of service, I know I can go there for some quick, filling eats, and there are definitely places that can’t do that. Edit: I have been back once since. We had a large group that they accommodated with a reservation and their service was excellent considering group size and needs. I still think it’s *** on the food, but I HIGHLY recommend the muffins, they are great.

Nice little breakfast place. No lunch on the menu. Had the Wakenbake. Quite tasty. Prices are fair. Service was good. The waitress(Stella) was very helpful. Will go back.

Butter My Biscuit opened very recently(April 20) in the former Sub Contractors building at the corner of Dubuque St and Putnam St in West Manchester. The name of the place sounds clever: «Just butter my biscuit please!» but it could mean other things too,(chuckle!). I won’t go there. The exterior of the ordinary looking building was repainted and the place inside was renovated from a typical neighborhood bar into a nice casual and homey restaurant/café. The full service dining room is fully carpeted with several tables and the former bar counter was transformed into a breakfast bar counter with metal stool seating. The freshly painted walls are decorated too. As for the menu offerings, it’s currently breakfast only which offers egg dishes, 4 egg omelets, Texas French toast, pancakes, breakfast sandwiches, sausage gravy & biscuits, breakfast sides plus French Canadian staples such as pork pie and Gorton(pork spread). Some special items on the menu include Ty’s Delite(grilled PB&J sandwich with 1 egg, bacon, & sausage), BMB(eggs & cheese baked into a biscuit & smothered with homemade sausage gravy, served with homefries or beans), and the Wakenbake(baked crème brûlée French toast drizzled with maple butter cream). The prices here seem reasonable, most dishes priced $ 2.99(one pancake) to $ 8.69(meaty omelet). I stopped in here for breakfast over the weekend. The place was steady busy with almost all tables occupied as I arrived here around 11AM and luckily a table was just being cleaned off. I was offered coffee as I was seated. The fresh brewed mug of NH Coffee($ 1.89) was really good, which was robust and slightly strong. For breakfast, I decided on the Saindon’s Pork Pie($ 7.89) — the original Saindon’s Market recipe, served with 2 eggs(I chose scrambled), homefries or beans and toast(I chose a biscuit). The waitress suggest I could have halfsies of the homefries and beans. The food was served to my table in about 10 minutes after I ordered. The overall portion of food was just right though as expected, the homefries and beans were a few bites as halfsies. The pork pie had a flaky crust filled with seasoned ground pork, not salty either. The homefries were fresh cut potatoes, lightly grilled and seasoned. The baked beans were firm and had sweet taste. The toasted biscuit was more like a shortcake biscuit which was slightly crumbly and semi sweet(I did not butter the biscuit). The food overall was solid good tasting! The service was good and attentive as I was offered top offs on the coffee and checked on a few times. The check was dropped off as I was finishing up my food, a good thing in this case since I needed to get back on the road. The check came out to just under $ 11 with tax and before tip.
