Really not good. I was disappointed to hear that Panda Garden had closed, but this is far worse. I had the crab rangoon, fried dumplings, and chicken lo mein. The chicken was mushy and the lo mein tasted oily, the crab rangoon was filled with only cream cheese, and the dumplings were burned. Don’t waste your money here, I should have gone to Thai Basil.

There are two options for Chinese food in Manchester, China City and Panda Garden. A lot of locals have defected to the Panda since it opened and I honestly do not see why at all. Panda is way more expensive for food that isn’t even as good. The China City folks have been in town for way longer, so they are definitely closer to being a local business. It’s extremely family run. Husband/wife, kids, grandparents, etc. The husband is kind of a taciturn odd-fellow, but the wife is an extremely sweet and warm woman. I’m a huge fan of the combination plates… awesome value. The schezuan steamed dumplings are really good too, and you can get them veggie-style if you want. After a few profoundly underwhelming visits to Panda Garden this summer, I will definitely be keeping my business with China City when I need a fix.
