Freedman Dentistry

I have had the pleasure of being a patient of Dr. Freedman for a year now. The office staff and hygenists are wonderful, warm and welcoming. Dr. Freedman is an exceptional Dentist with a kind and caring manner. I never feel rushed, all questions are answered and I have received the best of care. I would highly recommend this office to anyone who is searching or has had a bad experience elsewhere! He truly is a dentist of excellence.

I went to this doctor last month for my regular cleaning. I used to go to another doctor at Storrs, CT and I never paid anything for the cleaning (except copay). I gave them all the Insurance information 1 week before my appointment. Two weeks later, I received a bill with due $ 112.00 (+88.00 paid by insurance) ! seriously? $ 200.00 just for cleaning? I called the Insurance to find out why. They are saying this doctor is not in the network (the listed doctors) so they will not cover the whole amount charged by the doctor (this location is really expensive as well) and they said, it seems like this doctor is charging way too much. otherwise, I would have received the bill with much less amount eventhough the coverage was limited from the insurance for the out of network doctor. Doctor’s office should have informed me about the coverage/​benefits/​expected charges before the treatment. Then, I called the doctors office. They said, they are not in any network. I asked them why didn’t you tell me if I am not fully covered. They are saying the nonsense that I am responsible for finding out all the benefits. Especially, the receptionist should take care of these things. Why are these guys are in the business lying/​hiding customer about the coverage even after having the customers insurance information weeks before the treatment? We have rights to know how much the treatment will cost? We don’t expect to have some random bill showing up even after having an insurance plan. Period ! I have filed the complaint with Insurance company for remaining portion of the payment to this doctor. I hope they will cover more. Finally, I strongly recommend checking the list of the dentists on your insurance policy network and avoid this location as are not in any network. Otherwise, you will be slammed by the huge bill from these money hungry people !!

I’m one of those rare, bizarre people that actually enjoys going to the dentist.
It helps when you have a great dentist.
Sure, I have 2 cavities to get filled in a few weeks (bleghhhh, wahhh) but I definitely appreciate Dr. Freedman’s expertise, personable nature, AND the fact that he’s a great painter (his artwork is on the office walls — pretty rad). I’ve had two different dental hygienists on my two visits and both Dawn and (i forget the other gal’s name) were SO kind. One even cared (or pretended to care, either is fine with me) about my new volunteer venture as a cat cuddler at the Humane Society.
I digress. All I really want to say is that this is a great dentistry, especially because thoughts of dental visits bring fear to the hearts of so many. You’ll feel taken care of here :)

Like most people, I’d had a pretty terrible time with Dentists growing up. Outdated X-​ray machines, heavy handed drilling and filling, and the bedside manner of a mortician was pretty much the norm. As a result of that and a lack of good dental insurance, I’d put off going to the dentist for about 4 years, maybe longer.
I finally got good dental insurance, and was searching for recommended dentists in the area. I’ve only gone in for X-​rays and an examination, but I already know Dr. Freedman’s going to be great. The assistants are kind, and want to make sure you’re not in any discomfort during the X-​ray process. Dr. Freedman himself is clearly passionate about his work as well. Not only does he seem to have state of the art equipment (digital X-​rays, ceramic fillings, etc.), but his knowledge of dentistry is amazing as well. He could tell from my x-​rays and examination what dental habits I had, how to cure canker sores, and even how I drank my soda. I’m lucky in that I only have one cavity in a tooth whose filling has broken. If I hadn’t come in when I did, it’s likely that this one tooth would have gotten worse over time.
I would absolutely recommend Dr. Freedman to anyone without a dentist, or who currently is unhappy with their dentist.
