If you like soup this is the place for you! If you like sushi, Chinese food or food in general look elsewhere. Service was excellent, drinks are cheap but food was questionable. If your feeling lucky or craving soup give it a try, otherwise drive to the Grand Buffet in Nashua.

I love Chinese food and my boyfriend and I love Red Apple in Concord so we figured we’d give this a try. Despite the bad reviews, we thought ‘whatever’ but believe me… the reviews speak for themselves. The staff was nice, and attentive but the food was horrible. Everything I ate I hated except for the white thin noodles. My boyfriend had his favorite: the chicken and as he bit it, he noticed that it wasn’t even fully cooked inside! It was pink and all of the food was cold. The atmosphere was dark and gloomy. will not be going back

Went to this place on Christmas Eve on the advice of a friend. I went in expecting to be underwhelmed, other Chinese buffet places that I’ve tried in the area have been really gross and have made me sick. What a nice surprise! The food here was actually really good! Teriyaki chicken was very tasty and not dried out, and I ate octopus for the first time. It was good! Sushi was just ok, but what do you expect from all-you-can-eat? Best part of the meal was the check. We ate at lunch, and the bill for four of us was less than 40 bucks! Great deal! Service was attentive and friendly. I will definitely be going back to this place! One word of caution… the tile floor in the buffet area and at the entrance was VERY slippery. I’m surprised that it hasn’t been addressed. It is a lawsuit waiting to happen!

I hate these kind of places. My kids, however, love them. My normal reaction after eating at a buffet is to be ill. Here is not the case We were greeted by a very friendly gentleman. Shown to a clean quiet table and a lovely waitress came over for our drinks. The food was okay. It wasn’t great but it was good. It was fresh and I saw dish after dish being switched out with fresh foods. Even the desserts were fresh and not stale. I still don’t love a buffet but this was good. I was glad I went.

Food was ok, lots of options, but lacking on flavor/taste. Decently priced, but definitely over-priced when compared to quality of the food. Spend less and go somewhere else — you just have to pick 1 food type for the night and use the buffet $ on that.

Never coming back! I am big on service/manners/politeness and never again will I return. Not one smiling staff member, not one Thank You, not one shred of respect. Staff stood around staring at people which I have also read on other reviews of this hole. Food is what you expect from a Chinese buffet. Sushi was really good, actually. Never returning. Terrible.

Nothing great, nothing bad. Pretty much what you would expect from one of these places.

The Great Buffet I always go to is great. But I recently went to 2 other ones, in different states, on a road trip and they had poor service and food. I think they need to hire new workers because when they seat you, they stare at you and talk to the other workers in Chinese so you have no idea what they are saying! My buddy and I went there once and he spoke Chinese too, and they were talking about us. Poor poor poor restaurant.

My wife and I have been coming here your a couple years. The Chinese food was bad in the past but since they renovated the place and got new equipment things have really improved. Honestly it’s hit or miss on food temps. Not hot enough most visits for my taste. Best to eat around 530 when it’s busy and new food is constantly being brought out. Taste is spot on. My wife is in love with the sushi here. My favorite is crab ragoons.

NO. No no no no. What an awful experience. We were seated and I went to the ladies room first only to find some poor employee with tissues jammed in her nostrils while she scrubbed out the handicapped stall. OMG the smell… I should have left right there. The service was as attentive as you can expect for a buffet, although we were seated across from their station and we felt like they were staring at us. And the food. Downright horrid. The seafood was questionable and the various«chinese style» dishes were mostly unidentifiable. Most certainly will NOT be back.

Sushi was good, but the rest was… meh. Not bad, but nothing special. Price was $ 9 including tea at 3 in the afternoon — about average.

Great food for a buffet, lots of variety and always fresh. One of the best Chinese buffets in the area. Staff are always very friendly and attend to your needs.

The selection was great, service was efficient! Use caution when eating any of the seafood selections. I had attempted to try the crab and shrimp, both were incredibly slimy and«rank» smelling!!!

I used to love this place. But it seems that they have just stopped caring. The wait staff seems more interested in comparing tips(not a good idea for any wait staff at a buffet) than looking after the customers. The food hasn’t changed in well over a year. The same bland stuff(been sitting too long) every day. And what used to be a highlight, the sushi bar, has become a joke. Went on a Saturday night and there was, literally, 9 pieces out(and the sushi guy was right there behind the counter) and when I took 4(all plain salmon pieces) he NEVER put anything else out the rest of the time we were there. Ridiculous. Head up to Concord and hit the Red Apple instead. MUCH better. I hope the owners see this because improvement is required.

Quantity over quality. I came here tired and hungry after a day of hiking in the White Mountains. At first, the food seemed reasonably good(beef and broccoli stir-fry and cooked salmon, yes). When I come to a place like this, I don’t have high expectations, but when I tried the cooked clams, I was simply disgusted. It tasted like it was already starting to go bad… I then tried the wonton soup and found myself with a bowl of yellow oily fluid. It tasted strangely like oil that had been used in deep-frying things… No hint of broth at all! An $ 11.99 all-you-can-eat dinner is an enticing deal, but some of the food is simply gross. Please, Great Buffet, just stick with the food you can make well and get rid of the bad stuff. You’ve already got a lot of variety. No need to add more options that seem sickening! I left feeling disgusted. PS: When I looked around at the other diners, there were very few Asians… not a good sign… I will not be coming back, ever.

My friend and I had Thanksgiving Dinner at Great Buffet since we didn’t feel like cooking. The price per person was $ 13.99 plus tax, $ 2 higher than the weekend dinner price. We arrived here around 5PM and the place was not that busy. The buffet had the usual offerings, but much of the food on the buffet was not piping hot and only lukewarm. The carved roast turkey on the buffet was all gone, just the carcass leftover, so we had to settle for carved ham, steak, and salmon. The crab legs on the buffet were scarce and not replenished, but they had soft shell crab, steamed clams, shrimp, crawfish, and raw oysters. The sushi station was stocked pretty well and I also enjoyed some hibachi style noodles, which was cooked hot and fresh to order promptly by the chef. The steamed pork buns were pretty good, as was the baked apple streudel. Overall, we both had our fill on a quiet Thanksgiving as we watched the Cowboys-Dolphins game on the big flatscreen TV in the dining room. I’ve had better buffet experiences here in the past and I still prefer the food at the Newington location.

Definitely not as good as their sister restaurant in Newington. It probably wasn’t the best idea to visit at 2:30pm during the middle of the week, but it is a time to avoid. Certain selections were cold and the sushi was rather dry. While the lo mein was good, the fried rice I passed on judging by appearance. The meats, especially the various chicken selections, were good along with the cooked vegetables and spring rolls. I will agree with a previous Unilocaler and include more Chinese selections. Too many American-type snack foods. The server was quick to clear plates and refill drinks. There are coupons for discounts on their website. A decent buffet for the price… with the coupon for 2 and tip was a $ 20 spot.
