We hired Margery Gussak’s catering for our wedding and we were very happy with them. We did a lot of looking around for kosher caterers around Boston and they can be really hard to find and outrageously expensive. We ended up going with Margery Gussak’s because they were about 30% cheaper than any of the other quotes we got and we decided to go ahead and hope they would be fine. We ended up being very happy with them. The food turned out to be absolutely delicious. Our guests all said that they loved the food, especially the desert. I would recommend going out there to do the tasting because there were definitely some dishes that we tried that we didn’t like as much. My five star review is definitely conditional on needing a kosher caterer, if this is not a requirement, you can find better bang for you buck. The staff is also a little less responsive or flexible than some high end caterers. But, if you are looking for a professional caterer who will serve good food at a more affordable price, I highly recommend checking out Margery Gussak’s.

Have attended several events that used this caterer. Some of the food is ok, most is mediocre and the rest is just plain bad — at a lunch the other day with the world’s worst orzo salad — gloppy and found some rotten fruit in it. At several congregational lunches recently — never enough food. Many staff members just plain nasty — asked for the waiter to bring water to our table(for the first time, not refills) 45 minutes into dinner and was told to «get it yourself — there is a bar outside». At a fancy function recently — rather than plate food in the large kitchen and bring out beautiful trays to put on the buffet tables, they brought out the hideous orange catering tubs and transferred the food in front of all the guests. While setting up the dessert buffet, some of the pastries fell onto the floor and we all watched as they put them on the plates! When I mentioned that maybe they should have plated the food in the kitchen, the response was«the photographer held us up earlier in the evening, so our timing was off.» Nice passing the buck! Because the 30 seconds it would have taken to carry the food from the kitchen to the tables would have made a big difference. There are other kosher caterers around — if you need one, pay to have someone come uo from NY or down from Boston, but I would stay away from this one!
