Beyond amazing! I am not a person who ever writes a review but this place deserves one! I moved here from LA stressed like crazy where I can go and who I can trust. I will recommend this place to everyone I talk to and a huge shout out to Bethany! She did exactly what I asked for without pressuring me to do anything else. And she styled my hair wonderfully afterwards. I will be going to her everytime. If you are nervous about this salon don’t be!!! You will not regret it!!!

I’ve been coming to MT for over six years now, and I’m just as happy today as my first appointment. I have to continue to praise Caryn. I’ve been coming to her for years, and although I am always beyond pleased with the work she does, she always continues to confirm that I’m happy with my brow wax. It has always shown that she truly cares that I am happy with her work.
I recently decided to take some time for me and schedule my first facial with Caryn. As Caryn got me settled in the room, she told me all about the products that she had selected for my appointment. I truly felt as if she took the time to personalize the appointment and services to me. Although it was my first facial, Caryn explained everything that she was doing and why. I know that even if it wasn’t my first facial Caryn would have explained what she was doing. She’s a true professional who cares about her clients and wants them to feel comfortable with the treatment and services they receive. I’ve been incredibly happy with every appointment I’ve come to and will continue to praise and recommend Caryn.

New to Manchester and found myself at Michael Thomas on a whim. Keith is a wizard with the clippers and shears. One of the best haircuts I’ve ever had. I will definitely be back.

Bethany is amazing! Had an updo for a bridal party loved it! Staff was amazing and a lot of fun shout out to Keeeith, Jen and Ruth (bat man voice) all made our day special! Facility was beautiful! And picked up some new earrings! Would highly recommend this salon for any special occasion!

Spencer is a gift

I booked an appointment yesterday with Keith and was so happy that I did! Keith was super friendly and professional and gave a proper consultation before cutting my hair. He understood what my goals with my hair were, put me at ease, and executed perfectly. I will definitely be going to back and am so happy to say that I will book with Keith again!

I have been to Michael Thomas Salon twice now, and plan to make this my new salon for cut (Jeffrey) and color (Brittany). Jeffrey and Brittany were right on the money with the cut and color that fits my face shape and coloring. Everyone I have come into contact with at this salon is super professional and nice, it is a very relaxing atmosphere. The location is very easy to get to with plenty of parking.

Not only are the stylists highly trained, accommodating and great at helping you look your best, but every person I see from the moment I step into the salon is smiling and offers a hello. I feel immediately at ease, and can truly enjoy the experience Michael Thomas Salon offers. I live over an hour away, and I still drive there each and every time to have my visit with Ruthie. I will NEVER go anywhere else! Thank you for such an amazing salon and staff!

I just love this place so much! First of all the salon is beautiful. really beautiful. It has a warm and calming décor that invites you right in. The staff at the front desk are so sweet, helpful and kind. They immediately make sure you are taken care of.
Now my hair, which is long, coarse and thick has never looked and felt better as it does now. Keri takes time to really understand my needs and desires for my hair and delivers those expectations 100% of the time. I will never go anywhere else. I have been to many salons all over the country and have never had hair this fabulous!

After looking through many Unilocal reviews of local hair salons, I decided to go to Michael Thomas Salon. I booked online without even having any relationship previous which was very helpful to my very busy schedule. I love the salon, it has this trendy, yet calming and inviting feel to it and is VERY clean. Brittany was great and took my boring over grown out hair and turned it into a masterpiece. I came home after and my husband said the sweetest thing, he said «WOW! Look at at your hair, this is the best haircut I’ve ever seen on you.» I agreed and he was happy to hear I’ve found my new home for my hair! Thank you so much!

Wonderfully trained stylists and master colorists — board certified makes a huge difference. Beth was my colorist for a year before I sadly relocated to Dallas, and I haven’t found a good replacement yet!

I love this place! The location is absolutely wonderful. Ruthie is an absolute hair wizard. She has always worked with me when I have decided to do bad things to my hair on my own. She makes any hot mess with hair into something wonderful. She always listens and knows exactly what to do to make things right again. She has always been able to fix my mistakes even when I had budget restraints. She can also recommend some amazing aveda makeup! The atmosphere is warm and the employees are wonderful!

I made an appointment with Jeffrey from a recommendation I received at work. I have to say it was the first time that I have EVER felt comfortable at a salon. Jeffrey is so great with people and truly makes you feel welcome and cared for. In addition to making it so easy for me to relax, he also gave me a hairstyle that I truly love and don’t curse in the morning. Every other haircut I have had, whether it be from SuperCuts or a high quality salon like Michael Thomas, I have never been able to get it to look good the next day. Jeffrey gave me a cut that is care free. I wash it and go, no styling and fighting with it to do what I want. He is a true hair genius! I have been talking him up at the office to all the co-​workers that don’t go to Michael Thomas (there are already three of us that do) and convincing them to go to the salon too. The reaction I received when I got back to the office from the appointment and even the next day made me feel so much better about myself. Everyone loves the new haircut! All I can say is ‘thank you’ even though I wish I could express it more.

I recently moved to the Manchester area and was in desperate need of a trim. I looked this salon up on
and found good reviews– and a coupon along with it– so I went ahead and booked an appointment. The salon space is in an old mill building with tall, lofty ceilings. I loved the open space and atmosphere. My stylist Bethany did an excellent job at fixing my long, disjointed layers and split ends. The result was a head of hair that framed my face beautifully with nice long layers. I also got a deep conditioning treatment to help neutralize chlorine from swimming several days a week. So far I am very happy with the cut, and I would say this place is well worth it despite the prices. I’ll be heading back a week or so from now to get my old highlights taken out, so I’ll update you on the color then. My coloring is scheduled with Chelsea.

My first experience at this salon was actually not mine, it was my 12 year old son’s. He’s had a couple of haircut nightmares… one in particular on Newbury St. that left him looking like Herman Munster. Suffice it to say he suffers from salon-​stylist phobia. We took a chance on Michael Thomas Salon at a friend’s suggestion, and we are so happy we did! The staff was welcoming and attentive, the décor is modern, open, bright and comfy… leather chairs, coffee, tea, snacks and great magazines to browse while you wait. More important, of course, was the cut: perfect… exactly what the little man wanted. The stylist was Ruthie, and she was fantastic! She was sweet, she listened to him, and she delivered! I should also add that I watched her previous customer leave and was mesmerized by the shiny, precision cut. The little man is hooked, and I fear that I may need to ‘cheat’ on the Newbury St. stylist I’ve been seeing for the past 10 years…

Beautiful building – getting a haircut here would feel like a walk on the riverfront with the sunlight coming in the warehouse loft windows. I went in for a wax which was very efficiently and expertly administered.

First Impressions: Good service but overpriced
First of all, this is a nice salon. It’s in a lovely old building with very high ceilings, wide-​planked hardwood floors… tons of character. The salon itself is clean, stylish and very open and inviting. You know that the owner and stylists take pride in working here.
I called to make an appointment and spoke to someone about the different stylists and the different costs. The owner and master stylist, Keri, was ridiculously expensive. I discussed the different costs and merits of the different stylists and settled on Stephanie.
I went in for a semi-​permanent color and cut. Stephanie greeted me on time and brought me back to her station. We discussed what I wanted – I asked for something «different» but told her I really didn’t know what that really meant. She suggested an all-​over layering of my hair to give it a different shape and more movement and also suggested some changes in my color. I agreed.
She did the color, and then spent a great deal of time on the cut. She was meticulous. She then blew the hair dry and styled it. It was a nice cut, but I really didn’t see much different in the shape and cut of my hair. But it was still an excellent cut.
What I didn’t like was that she left a great deal of color in my hair. It took a week to wash out the excess color even though Stephanie took great pains to shampoo my hair thoroughly. The color treatment itself left my hair very coarse – very different from the products that my other stylist had used (PM Shines – great color, and leaves your hair shiny and silky smooth).
All in all, I got a good cut and okay color. But the cost at Michael Thomas was almost DOUBLE that of the other stylist I recently tried with very little discernible difference. So, I’m going back to the first person I tried in the area (I just moved here recently); not the best stylist (I’m not into big hair), but decent cut and color.

I went here for the first time… just yesterday. I moved to Manchester a couple months ago and have been shopping around for the right place for me.
Karen was super welcoming and the business is small and locally owned. You can feel good about going there and feel good while you’re there.
I’ll definitely go back and I’ll also tell my colleagues and friends about it. No one enjoys getting waxed, so you might as well enjoy where you get waxed. Check Michael Tomas out, you won’t be sorry!
A tad pricey… I just don’t like to skimp on this!

Privately owned and operated, this salon offers all the personalized service a patron could ask for. The staff are courteous, professional and upbeat — you feel like one of the family when you’re there. They use exceptional products and their cut and color techniques are cutting edge. The atmosphere is comfortable and relaxed, and I recommend allowing ample time to just BE there. You won’t regret it! You may even be inspired to redecorate a room of your house to reflect the tranquility of this space.
