I had always wanted to try this place. I love Cajun/Creole food, and have a serious love for jazz. We went at 6pm on a Friday. The first thing I noticed was the décor. Each section of the restaurant is decorated in a different aspect of New Orleans style — different murals, paintings, and draperies. We were seated on what looked like the back deck of a cute shack, draped in Spanish moss, twinkle lights, and a black bra tangled with Mardi Gras beads. The drinks were excellent. One got the house Bloody Mary — spicy and heavy on the horseradish. Yum. My drink was a Sazerac — a whiskey drink that was delicious. I loved reading about the history of each drink on the bar menu. The food, overall, was quite good. The calamari appetizer was delicious! I had the mussels appetizer as my meal. They were just fine, but not exceptional. I also had the hush puppies as a side. You get an order of six — be ready to share! My table mates had the jambalaya(yum) and the steak special(which came with okra, squash, and potatoes). The steak was amaaaaazing. For dessert, we tried the bread pudding, red velvet cake, and beignets. They were all perfect. The pastry chef there REALLY knows what they are doing.

Absolutely the worst experience in any restaurant ever. And that’s with 25 years of restaurant experience.

Jambalaya is awesome. We like the calamari too. Ambiance is good, and live music is great. Service can slow and the servers are not very attentive from the times we have visited. Took nearly an hour on a Friday night to receive our meals. Food was worth the wait, but if on a tight schedule, this place may not be the best for you.

Loved coming here and hearing some live jazz, highlight of this place. Food is Ok. Nothing to necessarily die over and say gee I got to have that again… …but overall experience was pleasant. Just couldnt figure out why they would sit us in the smallest table possible in a seemingly wide open restaurant with several other spacious tables open. Devil is in the details, but this place has the potential to be that much better. I would try it again sometime, maybe asked to be seated else where next time.

Really yummy food. The restaurant is very cool and love the jazz music. Shrimp and grits was awesome. And so was the trio. One of our favorite places to eat!

Went with a large group on a business trip. Between us we had a good portion of the things on the menu, including the gumbo, the jambalaya, and the Taste of New Orleans. The food was excellent across the board. We all agreed it was possibly the best creole food we’d had outside of New Orleans. We’re planning to go back next time we’re in town. And it turned out they were having BOGO entrées that night, so we paid almost nothing! The one downside was the cocktail menu, which needs a serious revamp. The drinks claim to be New Orleans classics, like the Sazerac and the Hurricane, but instead of using the classic recipes, they’re making them with extra ingredients and overly sweet liqueurs. My Sazerac was just plain awful. Luckily the food made up for it!

We went for a Friday date night. We were there for 6PM and were seated immediately, by 6:45 the place was full. Good tap beer selection and the wife liked her hurricane. We started with the mussels which were very good. I had the crawfish ettoufee and a crawfish po boy(when in Rome). They were bith delicious. Wife had the Jambalaya and rice balls. She felt they were good but that the Jambalaya lacked flavor. Service was competent and attentive but not overbearing. Will likely go back.

Plenty of tables available and my husband and I still had to wait for 30 minutes for reasons unknown.

I was in town and wanted to try something local. I didn’t order anything particularly Cajun but the food was still super yummy! I had the Yankee doodle burger and it was cooked perfectly. Could have used some mayo or bbq sauce on it but it was still a great burger. Fries were amazing! I also sampled the hush puppies, corn bread muffins, and beignets! The hush puppies(with syrup!) we’re my fave. The atmosphere was nice and the server was great. I would definitely come again the next time I’m in town.

I’m rating this est. 4 stars for those individuals that have not experience New Orleans food in New Orleans. If you have I would rate a stars for you. My reason is the lack of true New Orleans seasonings. The food and taste is good over all. I would come back and eat here. The lunch menu ends at 5& the have items for $ 5. I had the cajun mussels which was good but could have had more spice. I also had the $ 5 red beans and rice that came with 2 pieces of chicken. A very nice size portion for $ 5.

During the summer I came a couple times for lunch and thought the food was good, came in today and ordered the same lunch i had before; red beans and rice. It was so bland and the chicken was overly fried to the point you couldn’t pick it apart no matter what. I asked for a pepsi and halfway through my drink i realized there were pieces of mint in my glass which appear to be from the drink last served on this glass. I was so grossed out! Will not be returning.

We tried the alligator bites, the New Orleans sampler and the back yard BBQ sampler. Both were really really good.

Every time I’m in town I hear the jazz from the sidewalk and want to stop in. Finally had a chance this week and ordered the crawfish etoufee and alligator bites. The service was excellent — extremely prompt, polite, professional and attentive. I wish I could give credit where it is due, but I didn’t quite catch the fellow’s name over the music and the receipt just has the server listed as «bar.» Oh well. The food was great. I’ve had alligator a few places before and it really runs the gamut. Loved it here — it paired really well with the sauce. The crawfish etoufee was excellent. Spicy enough for my preferences(I am ususally disappointed in New England’s complete distaste for anything other than bland sugar-and-milk flavor profiles, so this was a pleasant surprise). This spot also has a really fun ambiance and internal décor — it hits the New Orleans jazz theme righ on, without being overly kitschy. Well done. I work for a consulting firm and this is a place I would definitely bring clients for dinner if they want to do something outside of the standared«sushi or steak» fare. And it was quite affordable to boot.

Great atmosphere, the perfect live music and really great drinks! Had the trio — I am not a Jambalaya fan but theirs was fantastic.

So… I went back to N’awlins hoping that maybe they stepped up their game but really because I was craving a Muffuletta. I know. It’s an odd thing to crave. I might be pregnant. Anyways, back to the muff. I stated this in my last review, but once again, N’awlins needs to get their breads right. This muffuletta was served on a bulkie roll. I mean, seriously? Because of the relatively lightness of the bulkie roll compared to the traditional bread which is more akin to a focaccia, it threw off the balance of the sandwich. The sandwich became overpowered by the olive tapenade and was too salty. However, I do have to say that the hush puppies served with the sandwich were stellar. They were perfectly fried. Crisp on the outside, soft and moist on the inside, and impeccably seasoned with a hint of bell pepper. Unfortunately, I was craving a muffuletta, not hush puppies tonight.
