There’s a TACO TRUCK parked right in the middle of Manchvega$! Taco trucks and food trucks are a common sight in the larger cities, but it’s very exciting to see a taco truck parked next to the Hans Market at the corner of Lake Avenue and Maple Street. There was another taco truck business (Tacos Nayarit) parked a block away several years ago. The food served at Sabroso is authentic Mexican and everything is made to order. They serve up delicious street Tacos ($ 2.25), Buritos ($ 3.99-$ 5.99), Tortas ($ 5.99), Chimis ($ 5.99) filled with your choice of fillings and the following meats:
Azada (thinly sliced beef)
Adobada (pork in red chile sauce),
Carnitas (braised pork)
Chicharon (cracklings-​pork)
Lengua (tongue-​beef)
Pollo (chicken)
Other items offered here include empanadas, chicharon, carne frita, tostones, pollo frito, longanisa, rice & beans, and salads, plus cold bottled drinks.
I stopped by recently for food takeout. I ordered 5 Carnitas Tacos ($ 10-​special price/​5 tacos of the same) and 1 Chicken Empanada ($ 1.50). I enjoyed the empanada while the tacos were being made to order. The empanada was a deep fried pastry shell filled with juicy shredded chicken and cheese, very good! The tacos were ready to go in about 7 minutes after ordering. The carnitas tacos (larger street tacos) were filled with juicy chopped pork with shredded cabbage, pico de gallo, peppers, salsa in a soft tortillas and limes on the side. Two thumbs up!
There is a picnic table in front of the truck to eat your food.
Once again having a taco truck serving great fast food back in Manchvega$ is the closest thing to being at a taco truck in LA! 5 STARS for the taco truck!
