Great authentic Spanish food. The desert was amazing! We ordered another portion of the three leches cake just to take home.

We ate dinner here the other night for my Mom’s birthday. There were 7 of us and we had great food and a great time at this BYOB Spanish cuisine hidden gem in Manchester. We do love the BYOB concept and the owner/chef was quick to welcome us and offer us glasses and open our wine for us. It’s a small 8 – 10 table place in a strip mall next door to a package store in case you need some beer or wine. We started off with an order of the fish ceviche and sautéed mushrooms for the table to share. The ceviche is a white fish in lime juice, served with onions, sweet potatoes and roasted corn. It’s the best ceviche I’ve ever had. Fresh tasting lime. Well done. We also always order the Setas al Ajo which are sautéed mushrooms in garlic butter served over a crostini. This is simple but awesome dish. I will prob try to recreate it and serve it over a rib eye at home. My wife order an app as her main meal and got the Pastel de Espinacas which is a spinach and cheese tart with puff pastry. She said it was light and very good flavor. I also ordered the an app as my meal. I got the Pollo al Ajillo which is garlic chicken with roasted onions, red peppers in a white wine sauce. Chicken was very tender and wine sauce would have been perfect to dip bread in. The owner/chef is efficient and does a great job with this small space. Great quality and good size portions. We will def be back soon.

We came with some friends who had eaten there a number of times before. What a treat. We got there kind of late but the chef was more than gracious. Excellent. Paeilla. Friends had pork and steak dishes. Perfectly prepared beautifully presented the LA leche cake dessert was so moist and delicious. Would definitely go again. Very reasonable prices.

First visit: Tried several dishes including Ceviche which was plentiful and tasty, but 100% Tilpia with no shrimp or other seafood. The Seafood soup was good, but not a personal favorite. Glad I tried it… it was tasty and definitely tasted fresh and«clean». The paella included clams, mussels, shrimp, and was okay, but I’ve had better. I was a bit disappointed in the flavor of the rice. Also tried a casserole with seafood and cilantro. That was my favorite in terms of flavor. All in all, certainly some unique dishes, not all of them were the best I’ve had, but nothing to complain about. The owner /chef is WONDERFUL. He’s caring, personable, and 5 Stars worthy. The ambiance is pleasant, the music is perfect for setting a nice atmosphere. The highlight is the uniqueness of the dishes and Suso himself… he is GREAT. Will return again to sample other dishes.,

Love the food here! The chef makes outstanding mafungo and we enjoy the BYOB aspect. A few suggestions… change up the menu a bit and redecorate. We’re regulars and we’ll keep going back to get DELICIOUS Spanish food.

We went there as a spur of the moment thing — I had a strong craving for rice and beans. We must have gone on an off night, because there were really only 2 people working there at the time(not including the kitchen). So let’s go over the Pros and Cons Pros: Service with a smile. The waiter and waitress were swamped, but remained polite, helpful, and actually really friendly the whole time. Made a huge difference. The Yellow Sauce. It’s so good with the meat — tastes a little sweet, a little mustardy, just eat a little at a time with meat. If your plate doesn’t come with it, request it and they’ll bring it over BYOB. We didn’t know this before going, but it is. The waitstaff will uncork and serve wine if you bring it. Cons: Long wait time for food. When you’re craving something and it takes half an hour for them to take your order, that can get frustrating. Beans and rice were… crusty. We think it must have been prepared in a huge batch, and then recooked when we ordered it. The plates were very hot — tells us that they were sitting under a warming lamp for a long time. Food was decent. Perhaps we aren’t refined enough for it, or we were used to a different type of cuisine. But, long story short: didn’t satisfy our craving. To be fair, we picked two of the least pricey items. Ceviche. Oh. My. God. So much lime, I couldn’t enjoy any other flavor of the ceviche dish. To sum it up, it was a very friendly restaurant, and if we had gone for lunch, it might have been a better experience. Probably won’t return.

Gourmet cooking for very fair prices. I had the short ribs and my wife had the tilapia, witjh empanadas as an appetizer. We both enjoyed our meals and were impressed by the graciousness of the staff. If you really enjoy good food, this is a worthwhile destination.

Reviews weren’t kidding about the wait to get your food. Went there on a Friday night and the place was almost full. Not too crazy about the corn nuts they give you. Food came after 45 minutes. My tilapia asada was pretty good, however the shrimp tasted like it was the frozen kind, and the mashed potatoes weren’t totally mashed. Loved the sauce though. No free refills on drinks!

This place is amazing! The food is great Latin food, the service is quick. Some of the people rating this restaurant may not understand that there is normally one cook, he is the owner of the restaurant and used to have his own cooking show. If meals take 25 minutes to come out, it’s because you have an extraordinary chef making magic in the kitchen. Ask for your food a little spicier if you’re afraid it might be bland. It’s never happened to me but the chef is willing to alter and tweak to your taste. The place is BYOB right next to a package store.

Food was great! Pork empanadas yum! Tilapia with shrimp sauce with fresh mashed potatoes were great. Paella was excellent. They need to recover chairs and get air conditioning for a more enjoyable atmosphere. ByoB option is so nice without a cork fee! The chef is clearly an expert with friendly staff.

Always looking to support small business, we found this place on Unilocal and had dinner there. The location was easy to find, there was enough parking and it was spacious enough to come with friends or have a small family event. The menu looks great, but is a little more limited than I would have liked. However, typically I feel small menus mean they’re good at what they do. I ordered the Roast pork with rice and beans and my husband the Peruvian fried rice with Chicken. I felt he pork was a little dry or the dish should have had some sort of sauce to bring out more flavor. The plantains were good and the rice was good; all in all the meal wasn’t bad but didn’t knock my socks off. The service was great and we didn’t feel rushed even thought we showed up 30 minutes before closing. We may try it again or something different on the menu, but we won’t necessarily be rushing back there.

A nice place that suffers from an awkward location and thus less patron turnaround. Atmosphere is otherwise nice, cozy and clean. Lunch specials are a great deal. Paella a bit oily and soup not bad, but also not amazingly mind-blowing. Methinks we just need to do a better job ordering different items on the menu next time.

this place has amazingly good food. I think it is just not very well known, and this is why i felt compelled to review it. The yellow rice with shrimp is excellent. the short rib had incredible flavor, not to mention it could have fed a family of four. The tilapia, very tasty. All dinners had a genuine Spanish and/or Peruvian flavor, and I can’t wait to have their Cuban pannini. Go there.

Came here on Sunday night around 6 pm to give it a try given it was close to our home and it has 4⁄5 stars on Unilocal. Waiting time: got seated right away. After ordering, food took 25 min to arrive which was very long given that nobody was there. Environment: quiet, nobody was here except us. Disappointed that the smoke was everywhere when food was being cooked. Strong fumes. Since we waited so long, we observed around. The braided fork and spoon decoration had spider webs. There were two flies bothering us which we just kept shooing away. Food: free corn appetizer, ordered 3 main entrees, an appetizer, a panini and soup for the 5 of us. Some didn’t have much flavor like the paella and fiduela but others had too much flavor like the soup was too salty, and steak flank was all sourness from balsamic vinegrette. Food was hyped up from Unilocal I think so maybe that raise my expectations. Price: $$ is about right. Entrees are around $ 15 – 20, appetizers being $ 7 – 10. Panini are $ 8 ish. Soup was around $ 8. Service: waiter was very friendly, asked us for refilling water and making small conversations when paying bill. Overall 2/5, I think if the restaurant had more customers than just our table and the vibe in the restaurant was better than I think our whole experience would have been a lot different. Our family of 5 were slightly critical given that it was just us and we had the time to observe the place.

Our evening started with a warm greeting and continued with friendly and helpful service. Dinner started with a really tasty snack of corn kernels — lightly salty and crunchy! This was a great change from the usual basket of bread at other restaurants. The waiter was very helpful, confirming that the tilapia dish that appealed to me was in fact gluten free. The dish was excellent with a moist tilapia filet, tender shrimp and broccoli served over mashed potatoes. It was all topped with a delicate Parmesan sauce. My friends were equally delighted with their dinners — one chicken and one steak dish. We were too full for dessert and I had quite a bit of my dinner left to take home. I look forward to returning to try more meals here.

Absolutely delicious– fresh and everything tastes homemade. The highlight was the mofungo with shrimp. Wow! The price is right for what you get, too!

Went here a few months ago per my dad’s request. First off the patatas braves are really excellent, crispy potatoes and a delicious sauce. However this was the only thing we enjoyed. The paella was too wet and oily and the seafood wasn’t the freshest. My mom had one of the chicken dishes and it was pretty tasteless. Did not love the décor. It seemed a little thrown together. Liked the little fried corn they gave you while waiting. Service is pleasant so that boosted them to a 3.

I’ve been ordering pizza a lot lately so I thought I’d try something different and get some take-out somewhere else. I checked Unilocal and found Suso was nearby and had very solid reviews. I went to their website to pick out what I wanted and called them only to find out the menu on their website was completely out of date. One of the three meals we wanted didn’t exist anymore and all of the prices were wrong. We decided to regroup and call back. So we went back to the Unilocal website and found they also had a menu for Suso. This one appeared to be up-to-date, which was a relief but surprising. It was big sign of disorganization when the menu on their own website was out of date but their menu on the Unilocal website was current. So we called back and placed our orders with no issues. We arrived ~20 minutes later to find out they had completely missed one of our orders, so we were going to have to wait another 15 for them to make that one while the ones they had already made got cold. During the process of figuring out that they missed one of our orders, the person we talked to the first time we called overheard us and literally stopped what she was doing and walked over to accuse us of not calling back. It didn’t occur to her that we were standing there picking up an order, so we obviously had called back and placed the order with the other person who answers the phone. We then tried to pay for our meals and it honestly seemed like this was the first time they had ever collected money from anybody; they could not understand what we were trying to do. I had 1 meal, my friend had 1 meal, and my other friend had 2 appetizers, and we all wanted to pay separately. It took at least 5 minutes of explaining to get it all divided up properly. I then proceeded to watch one friend try to pay with cash. At one point she gave him a $ 5 and she was owed $ 3 back. I then watched him hand her $ 2 and when she asked why she didn’t get $ 3 back he insisted he had given it to her. She was literally standing there with the $ 2 he just gave her and he told her she must have put it away. We eventually got our food and left and unfortunately my meal was a disappointment. If you read any of my other reviews you’ll see that I’m really not a picky eater. I like most things I eat and it has to be really bad to get a poor review on food. This meal was simply bad. It was very dry, the Spanish rice had no flavor, and the chunks of pork had almost no meat on them. I was essentially just eating chunks of pork fat. After 40+ reviews this is the first time I’ve ever given out 1 star. I’m usually a very easy rater but Suso failed literally every phase of the process. I would like to hope this was just an off night, since they do have good Unilocal reviews on average, and Unilocal is rarely wrong about restaurants, but it’s going to be a while before I give them a second chance.

I wanted to update to tack on another star. This place is really delightful. We’ve been back multiple times and have tried several dishes. Well, *I* have tried several dishes anyways. The bf ALWAYS gets the short ribs now as they are his favorite dish. I have to agree with him — they are pretty amazing, Fall off the bone juicy goodness… mmmmm. But, almost everything that I have tried has been home cooked deliciousness at a reasonable price. I feel bad sometimes when we go in and the heat isn’t on or they have the lights off so they can save a couple bucks(they will turn the heat up if you ask and they, of course, turn the lights on when you are seated). Makes me afraid that this place won’t last. I wish them the best and hope more people visit so they stick around for a long time!
