Don’t let the exterior fool you. Top quality pizza and sandwiches. I am addicted to the pulled pork. The choice of bread is almost as good as the pork. Generous helping. Get the slaw and pickles on the side. My only complaint is that they are not charging enough. Seriously.

Fantastic BBQ! Great pizza and sandwiches as well. It’s a small place but well worth the stop. Inexpensive and some great food. Friendly staff with quick service. Family owned and operated. I am in love with their beef brisket and pulled pork sandwiches.

Having just moved from New York, pizza is the go-to food. The Pizza Stone was not a disappointment. The woman on the phone was amazingly sweet and helpful despite the fact that you could tell she was busy. She suggested the Italian Meat Pizza and Herb Cheese Stuffed Breadsticks… phenomenal. The meat was fantastic, it did not taste like the bulk bought crap you normally find. The sauce was fresh and sweet. The crust was properly crunchy and delicious. Honestly, I think we found our pizza place for the area.

Brooklynite here. The Pizza Stone is an oasis of great pizza in Maine. My first clue was the sauce that came with the cheesy bread. After a lifetime of oral assault by tangy tomato-colored«marinana sauce», I was shocked by the delicious garden-fresh tomatoey goodness I dipped my cheesy breadstick into. The pizza itself was similarly surprisingly well crafted. When my wife and I order pizza, we have to get half the pie with no cheese — she’s lactose intolerant. What that means in practice is that half the pie has cheese and the other half has light cheese near the dividing line and no cheese elsewhere. This pie was well cheesed on half and absolutely cheese-free on the other half, as though they had shielded the area past the dividing line with painters tape. Great attention to detail. Some pizza places smother the pie in so much cheese that all the other flavors die, smothered by tangy milky goodness. This pie was excellently portioned with cheese, allowing the cheese flavor a prominent place on the palate but without overwhelming everything else on the pie. Which is a lucky thing, because the sauce on the pie may be the same sauce they serve with the breadsticks — a fantastic burst of ripe garden tomato flavor with just the right amount of seasoning. This isn’t store-bought marinara, but more like a top shelf restaurant bruschetta that has been pureed. Also on the menu are items we didn’t get a chance to sample but were happy to see, including local ingredients like Ballard’s smoked cheddar. We’ll definitely be making a return trip to the Pizza Stone. Well worth the visit. If they served pizza out in NYC, I would buy it there. It’s good enough to compete.
