This is a junk store, disorganized and overpriced. Seemed everything I touched had some obscene price tag on it. It’s not very welcoming. Junk cars in the parking lot and dingy inside the store. This place is a complete waste of time. I’ve gone in twice and it has yet to improve.

Thrifty’s is so awesome, I cried tears of joy within 4 minutes of walking in. Not even joking. This store is huge and has it all! Vinyls, CDs, DVDs, Collectibles, Books, Vintage Magazines, Vintage Furniture, Vintage Clothes– the list goes on and on! In addition to being an awesome thrift/vintage store, there’s also a stage where it looks like there are some live music performances. Every time I’ve visited, I easily find at least 50 things I must have. Prices are reasonable, and the layout of the store is easy to understand. Also– there’s 2 classic cars smack dab in the middle of the store, along with records and signed guitars hung up on the walls! Thrifty’s is so much more than a thrift store. It’s part shopping, part museum, part performance space. I absolutely adore it and it’s a must visit any time I’m in Manchester! (Cried tears of joy story: they had an item from my childhood — a Disney Hercules Sneak Peek ticket like one that my Dad once had. You never know what you might find there!)

Clerks determine prices by searching for records on eBay and Discogs then quoting outrageous figures based on their«research». Horrible business practice which yields bloated and unrealistic prices by employees who know nothing about vinyl. What a waste of a trip.

I’ve been back twice in as many week’s to feed my vinyl fix. There vinyl section has grown quite a lot since first finding this store with more being added regularly & I’ve never left without a stack. I have to advise checking the record’s for wear/damage before purchasing though. I have at times asked myself if whoever prices the records actually check them before putting them out for purchase do the questionable condition(although I may be a bit to… anal about what I’ll allow on my turntable).

Why buy a brand new sweater at the mall for $ 20 when you can go to Thrifty’s and buy a ratty, used version of the same sweater for only $ 15!!! Went here last weekend with a buddy to check it out cuz the website makes it looks awesome, but its not awesome. Most of the stuff is crap the Good Will would reject, and the prices are not cheap at all. Keep in mind, this place is called THRIFTY’S. Maybe«Thrifty» just randomly happens to be the owner’s actual last name but I doubt it. On the day my friend and I went, they had a huge shipment of newly arrived, used, and unpriced, records out for display. I grabbed about 20 and brought them up to get them priced, and the owner started pricing them… by looking each of them up, one at a time, on a variety of websites. Idiotic. Know your product! Not to mention, he wasn’t checking the records even to see if they were scratched or dirty or anything. Drrrr. Then, I heard him complain that in the past, buyers had left because they weren’t getting good deals. I pointed out to him… «Well, the name of your place is THRIFTY’s». He didn’t understand my point. Anyway, after waiting for about 30 minutes for the dude to price about 10 records, my friend and I bailed. I didn’t buy anything. Luckily there WAS a Good Will nearby, where I got 5 records for 5 bucks in about 5 minutes. On the upside, Thrifty’s isn’t all that far from the New Hampshire State Liquor store. This place does have some fun potential, but only if they get their heads out of their asses, price-wise.

Its way way out back. Lots of cd and older recording media, furniture, electronics, decorations, hardware. Prices better than average for similar type business. Love the Elvis El Dorado and the REO speedwagon. Worth a scoot around for your bargain hunting days.

Man, was I disappointed. First of all, eBay prices does not a Thrift Store make. Second, HOARDERS! Third, extremely bad half-lit flickering fluorescent lighting, of which makes the most horrendous buzzing noise. Fourth, it is full of junk, not like good junk either, most of the stuff should be in the trash . Do not see me or my wife returning.
