Simply fantastic. When you walk in, you’re fully greeted by staff who take great pleasure in introducing you to van Otis. The chocolate is simply amazing, one bite makes you want to go back for more! I loved the chocolate covered champagne bottles, the truffles, and the wines. The wines were also suggesting which chocolate go best with their chocolates! I bought a sample valentines gift box and sea salted caramels… I was in heaven! What a great place!

The chocolate is amazing! We happened to come in during their summer luau and there were chocolate fountains to dip fruit and rice crispy treats in. It was so good! The milk chocolate was my favorite. In the kids part of the store there was a coloring contest with very nice people to help. The rest of my family loves the fudge but I didn’t have a chance to try it. I totally recommend it if you’re near-by!

After tasting Van Otis’ authentic Swiss chocolate, Hershey bars taste like cardboard. I’m not even kidding. This place is the best. I prefer Van Otis over Granite State down the road.

The Swiss fudge is no joke. After having hit Saugerties, NY to hit Krauses for some hand-made premium chocolate, decided to try the vaunted Swiss fudge of New Hampshire. Though pricey at $ 25/pound, the dark fudge is otherworldly. On first glance, the one-inch fudge cube appears light and airy, so much so that I’d expected a chalky texture. Definitely not, as the fluffy fudge melts with gentle tooth pressure and coats the mouth. In fact, the gift box indicates that two of these cubes can be dropped into a cup of hot milk for an expensive hot chocolate! Sleeper hits are the various chocolately varieties of saltwater taffy, which were discounted. Peanut brittle was just okay.

I had a chance to sample several Van Otis Chocolate products today and it was all wonderful. The Swiss fudge is like an inside out truffle! The store is very cool and the staff is AWESOME! I highly recommend if in the market for fine chocolates!

Van Otis is without a doubt the chocolate leader in New Hampshire. Definately on the pricey side but you are paying for superior quality. We always go to Van Otis around the holidays to get Swiss Fudge and chocolate tin men and bon bons. I am not a huge fan of there regular chocolate fudge but I am not really a fudge guy anyway. They used to have two locations in Manchester but now only one. They also have an online section you can order. I would not reccomend getting the plastic wrapped candy/fudge as this is usually old(er) great for gifts around the holidays.

This is my go to place for a chocolate fix since I was little. My mom always buys me chocolates from here every Valentines day too… more warm and thoughtful than getting from a large chain! However I miss their old location from yeara before the Verizon Wireless Arena was built. It was off of Elm St in a charming building.

I love stopping at Van Otis Chocolates to pick up chocolate gift boxes for friends and family. Van Otis makes all of their sweet confections on the premises at this Elm Street factory location and also stocks dessert wines and Stonewall Kitchen items. The Swiss fudge is very good!!! They even make Kanine Kookies for Fido! Van Otis Chocolates can also be purchased online at: Chocolate factory tours are given on Tuesdays(call for reservations). Attached to the store is the Café Van Otis, which is an «order at the counter» place, takeout or dine-in(small area with table seating). This cute café serves great grilled panini sandwiches, salads, baked goods, Starbucks Coffee drinks, tea, bottled drinks, and homemade gelato & gelato shakes. My favorite sandwich is the Smoked Turkey Panini($ 5.75-turkey, fresh mozzarella, pesto spread, sliced tomatoes & sundried tomatoes on ciabatta bread), which is full of flavors and served with Wise potato chips and watermelon slices. The homemade gelato comes in two sizes: Small($ 2.90-choice of 2 flavors) and Large($ 3.50-choice of 3 flavors). My favorite gelato flavors are the tiramisu, peanut butter, cappuccino, and chili chocolate, rich, creamy, and very refreshing on a hot day. The Starbucks Coffee brew here has a smooth taste and doesn’t have that burnt taste that you’d find at an official Starbucks company store.
