It’s a good place in the summer. You can sit right along the river eat and drink. Boat drive up access… a little rough around the edges, but always improving. Cannot wait for our first boat trip to this place for the year.

The restaurant has a great location and is nice on the inside. Problem is if you are taking your family you escort them through the bar which makes everyone a little uncomfortable. Food is very inconsistent. The chef is very good but he is not there all the time and you can tell when he is not. It would be nice if the restaurant had a separate entrance from the bar. The deck is a great place to spend time on a nice day.

Owners/Management are terrible. Grego Didonna is a wonderful chef but the establishment just doesn’t cut it for me, with the cheap dollar store quality creaky lawn chairs and tables… The restrooms both with wide open specific gendered restrooms yet both restrooms have no ‘Men’ or ‘Women’ gendered sign? Seemed like a great restaurant but was so disappointed.

Waitress was slow and forgetful… ate my salad without dressing after asking twice. Food was okay, very disappointing. They are in a great spot though, right on the river.

I thought I would give this place a second try because today was a perfect day to sit outside. My previous review still stands. Great patio but very lousy food and service.

Food was horrible. The pizza had canned mushrooms on it. Service was even worse. They had a about 10 tv’s and not one was on. We asked our server why they weren’t on, her response«because they haven’t turned them on». Really?

Captain Freddy’s(CF) is a largish bar and restaurant on the Mandan side of the Missouri River. You can drive or boat to it and it looks like it could have a lively bar. I went for dinner(upstairs) on a Thursday evening. I had one of their specials — Italian sausage penne with onions, green peppers, and mushrooms with spicy marinara sauce. The pasta was nicely cooked — al dente. In fairness, I like my pasta«VERY al dente», but I recognize that most probably don’t like it that way. The vegetables were also nicely cooked, but still had some texture. The sausage was good, but I would have been better had they grilled it a little to give it some browning. I like really spicy food, and often when something is labeled«spicy» I find it to have no kick. I was happy to ser that CF’s «spicy» sauce did indeed have some kick. Our server was nice did a good job(I was with a party of five, but it wasn’t busy).
