Worst Flying J I’ve been to in a while! It looks plain Jane on the outside, but has nice and shiny new diesel pumps. You walk inside and it looks fairly barren besides basic truck necessities, snacks, and a few souvenirs. There’s a Subway, but I’m assuming it closes at 10 because we got here at 10:30 and it was closed. They also make Hot Stuff pizzas here, but the ones that were in the case were all dried out and looked like they’d been sitting for a couple hours. I can tell the place is still under construction because there is exposed drywall and caulking in the bathrooms and driver’s lounge. Now, onto the real reason for the one star. My husband and I wanted to get a shower, and we were the only ones getting one at the time, so we figured we’d have plenty of hot water. Boy, were we wrong! We stood in there for 10 minutes letting the water run on full hot and it barely got lukewarm. Not something we wanted to deal with in 4 degree weather. We told the guys working and they said it’s because of the placement of the water heater. Poor planning by Flying J if you ask me. So yeah, don’t stop here if you want a hot shower.

Doesn’t look like much from the outside, but it’s actually very nice inside. Pretty typical truck stop/gas station, and is attached to the Rolling Hills restaurant AND has a Subway inside as well. Bathrooms were clean, although sort of oddly laid out. Prices weren’t any worse than you get anywhere else in this state.
