McClain’s Pizzeria

We love this pizzeria. My wife and I come here twice a month to get our pizza groove on.
Bob was running the joint today and Deanna was our most courteous server.
I decided to do something different tonight instead of our usual affair of building our own pizza.
My wife and tried McClain’s calzones… Same awesome dough but entirely different ingredients.. The wife had kalamata, spinach, artichoke, and mushrooms. Awesome!!!
I on the other hand had taken the chicken wing sauce pizza with Bleu cheese and stuffed it into a calzone. Badass!!!
Bob said he can make any pizza into a calzone… First hot wings chicken calzone in McClain’s history… I loved it and you will too…

Went to McClains, last night … very busy night… but the best part is that because of obvious short staffing the owner came to be our waitor… He was kind and courteous a TRUE servent leader!!! I watched as he digilently went back into the kitchen to cook but then return to the table with a smile and not a yell or cross word was coming from him … The food is wonderful but my family will return because of how amazing the owner was under pressure! !!!

I have enjoyed McClain’s Pizza, however, I will not be back. My daughter went twice and was treated terribly by the waitstaff. The first time my daughter went with friends and sat downstairs. The waiter would not even walk all the way down to deliver their pizza. They had to meet him halfway to pick it up. He made them pay in advance and never checked on them or offered drink refills. When my daughter said she was going again with friends recently I said «good luck!» It did not go well. They were not allowed to sit downstairs for starters. They were then treated like 5 year olds and then lectured on tipping. I know teens can be difficult customers, but it’s a shame the waitstaff is potentially ruining a great restaurant business.

Best pizza we’ve found on the Northshore! Really great flavor combinations, fun location (love the games downstairs), and best of all, it’s family owned. Love supporting local businesses, especially when they come with delicious pizza!

This is some of the best pizza I’ve ever had, my daughter got the buffalo chicken pizza. I had the Rosalyn and added spinach. The crust is so light and crispy, the sauce has just a hint of sweetness.
I love the atmosphere very laid-​back there is a huge deck to eat outside and enjoy the breeze and view of the lake. Super friendly waitstaff

Food was really good! Greek salad was delicious and created own pizza. The service was a bit slow only 2 waiters for 19 tables but food was great

This place gets 5 stars for hitting every aspect of what we were looking for. It’s family owned, so that’s a plus! They home make all their sauces in house, plus plus! And they are right on the lake front!
Beautiful location. Great pizzas. Downstairs they have a ton of games, it’s more of a hangout spot, air hockey, foosball tables, picnic benches etc. Upstairs is where the restaurant actually is, with a pretty decent size balcony and a pristine view of lake Ponchartrain.
Their cheese sticks appetizer is a full size pizza cut Into cheese sticks. It’s delicious. It’s super cheesy, and def. big enough to share with a group of 5−7people. Pizzas are a great size. The buffalo chicken pizza is my favorite.
They have a small bar, with a select number of beers. During an event or busy time they sell pizza by the slice downstairs. It’s family owned and they make you feel like you’re eating at their own actual home. Very friendly staff very inviting. Will def. make this one of our regular pizza stops!

We decided to try a new pizza place and sadly were disappointed. First off our bill was over 50.00 for one large pepperoni pizza, 1 medium Greek pizza, and wings. What the heck? It’s pizza and wings. This place is way over priced.
The pizza was good. Not great just good.
The wings were slimy. I like my wings actually cooked. They needed more baking/​fry time.
Also btw the ranch is nasty! Don’t waste your time on it!
They messed our order up too. I feel like I’m being generous by giving this place 3 stars…
Best pizza we have found so far: Neely’s. It’s a little bit of a drive for us but now we know it’s worth it.

Probably the best pizza anywhere in the area.
Staff is always very friendly and offers a nice view of the lake from the patio. Everything that I’ve had has been delicious and highly recommend you try their house made meatballs

WE were in town for the weekend and found this place around the corner from our guest house. The food is off the hook! Not all pizza is created equal and McClain’s is the kind of place that’s sets them all apart. Fresh ingredients, cold beers, great view of the lake!!!
The only down fall was the lack of wait staff. Everyone there was working hard but we had to wait for drink refills and a time or two. Could have been an off night??? It will not stop me from going back to order anther cheese burger pizza with fresh pickles and tomatoes on top or the buffalo chicken pizza with blue cheese dressing or the BLT with fresh lettuce. All great pizzas and the crust is like no other!
PS. Make sure to ask what the HONEY is on the table for!!!

The location is worth 34 stars. As a west coastie living in Slidell I am always CRAVING some beachside eats… Lake Ponchatrain fits the bill for me. The pizza was amazing! The artichoke dip was a huge let down. and had an insane amount of oil resting on the top (because it took so long to get to us). When we asked for a different dip they just scooped more dip on top. Now the service was wretched!!! There was approximately 2 servers for every table. and yet it took 20 minutes to get acknowledged. Go figure. Get the pizza to go and have a picnic. WIN WIN!

Seriously worst service — not once, but multiple times! Food is OK, view is nice… but get ready for the staff to loose your order, then delivery it wrong, then not wait on you for water/​drinks! Used to love the place… but will NEVER go back!

Delicious pizza! I got the buffalo chicken pizza and my gf got sausage and pepperoni. The dough is amazing and my pizza was heavenly. They offer appetizers, specialty, and made to order pizzas. Also offered calzones and gluten free crust. Staff was very friendly. We will definitely be going back.

I never give 5 stars but couldn’t think of one thing that was wrong. I sat on the deck at a couch using the wifi while sipping Abita Amber. My BBQ pizza was quick and delicious. If I lived near here I would be a regular

My experience here was really positive. The atmosphere was loud, but that is to be expected at dinner on Saturday night.
My mother has gluten allergies as well as an allergen to dairy. So finding someplace for the whole family to eat is difficult. We found that place here. The waiter, Trevor was awesome and the food was fabulous.
My only complaint was the hostesses were disorganized, so when we first walked in we stood there for a minute without being acknowledged.
I also wish they were open for lunch. We finally found someplace we can all agree on! I’d highly recommend it.

We usually try and stay away from chains but this pizza was great! We ordered two 10″ pizzas to go: the Greek pizza and the McClains special.
Both were rich in flavor and the crust was perfect! Not too thick, just the right amount of chewiness.
Can’t really speak on the wait-​staff because we did a to-​go order, but the hostess who brought us our order was just… meh.
Overall great pizza!

I don’t eat pizza very often but because the Super Bowl was on we decided to try McClains out. The place was almost empty when we arrived. There was a good bit of takeout while we were there and it became a bit busier later on.
We were told to sit wherever we wanted so we picked a seat where everyone had a good view of a TV.
There is a game room down stairs with some classic arcade games and a ping pong table.
We ordered the McClains Special, the Cheeseburger pizza, and a custom pizza for the kids. The Pizza was pretty good and there was more than what we were capable of eating. Needless to say we took a box of pizza home with us.
There is a handful of local draft beers ($ 4) and a number of the «mass produced» bottled beer.
Service was good. We were checked on a lot and although it seems that this has been a big complaint with other Unilocal customers, it was not something we experienced.

I’ve eaten twice here in the last couple of weeks. Food is ok, service not so ok. My first trip, it was around 50 degrees outside and they had all the doors open. It was so chili inside that I could not enjoy my lunch. Besides that, the waitress walked by my table 8 – 10 times while I was dying of thirst with an empty glass sitting there. The owner was pacing back and forth through the dining room talking on the phone the entire time which was rather annoying. The calzone I had was ok.
On my second trip I got the pizza which was pretty good. It was a sunny afternoon so I sat outside. While I was eating, the waitress came by and I asked if I needed anything. I ordered another beer as the beer I was drinking was so green that I couldn’t drink it. I waited and waited for my beer. Suddenly the waitress appears again and asks if she can get me another beer. I said yeah I’ll take a bud light. She said oh yeah, you already said that. lol So about the time I get done with my pizza here comes my beer.
