Really great experience with Dr. Karp. Excellent hours and busy yet took the time to really review my history, answer my questions and thoroughly explain follow up. This alone was great but also actually returns phone calls(himself) in a timely manner. Staff is also great in terms of responsiveness!

Dr. Karp is an excellent doctor. He moved his office from the nasty place on 6 ohio drive. he is now in Northshore Medical. His old office staff was as nasty as can be. This staff is nice but time will tell. The one thing about dr. Karp is that he overprescribes medications. he tends to prescribe tons of medicine for the simplest asthma attack. But, I really do like him and he is very knowledgeable.

My mother has been a patient of Dr. Karp’s for several years. Now that she has safely relocated to a nursing home far away from Dr. Karp, I can tell the truth about the treatment she’s received. First of all, Dr. Karp’s staff is rude and unhelpful to a degree I’ve never encountered before. A visit to the DMV would be restorative once you’ve been to Dr. Karp’s office. Dr. Karp himself, while he seems knowledgeable, appears much more interested in maximizing his income rather than the health of his patients. That might explain why he needs two(equally rude) assistants to keep track of his schedule. Also, the only way to reach him is by fax. Does anyone have a fax these days? I certainly don’t. One more thing: I believe Dr. Karp is rated one of the«Best Doctors» by Castle Connolly or some such rating service. Please don’t believe those — they’re all bought and paid for by the doctors themselves. Instead, get a recommendation from another physician. Good luck!

LOVE this pulmonary doctor !!! He’s been my mothers and my doctor for years and we both really respect him and trust him. He is very approachable and honest and he has helped us both a lot over the years. My mother always wants to see him just before going away on any trips just to be reassured. He is very non-alarming and laid back, and thus approachable. I would recommend him to others without hesitation. I kind if hate being in the waiting room around all these sneezing wheezing people but thats what a pulmonary doctors office is like. I will continue to be his patient as long as needed and that’s for sure…
