Nope, never. Walked in, didn’t even get through the door, and the vestibule smelled. Then the restaurant smelled and looked unclean. Then a greasy guy walked up to my table and handed me a menu. Then I left. ;)

Nowhere to go on a Saturday night? Forgot to make a reservation? Then go to Misaki haha. All jokes aside, it is a nice cozy place that not too many people frequent I think due to the wide number of sushi restaurants in the Great Neck area. Pros: food is decent, it is never crowded, seems very cozy, friendly servers Cons: doesn’t seem too clean and a bit pricey for just decent quality If I don’t wanna go to far, I don’t mind going to Misaki but it is far from the best sushi you can find.

I’ve eaten here a few times because my friends chose it for the location. I would never choose to eat here. Food is not very good, & sushi is not very fresh. This place is owned and run by non Japanese. That explains everything.

Just about everything in Manhasset is overpriced, sometimes even more so than Manhattan. For Misaki’s lunch special, they try to offer lots of small items or sides like California roll, tempura, miso soup, salad and fruit. The lunch box combo came with decent presentation as well as adequate portion, but the flavors and use of ingredients were no where close to par. I got the chicken teriyaki combo and it was genuinely awful. The salad dressing tasted like soy sauce with added sesame oil, and teriyaki sauce for the chicken tasted, again, like soy sauce. I’ve accustomed to bad imitations over the years, but the fact that my chicken wasn’t fresh, that made it inedible. They did, however, get one thing right — the crispy tempura. So if you’re looking for authentic or quality imitation, the options are very limited around here.

Decent sushi with good fish. The décor is a bit old and faded. Nice staff but watch out for them pushing more on your order than you actually want.

The service is very good, and so is the food. This is the only sushi place in town so I really want to like it more. Areas for improvement would be cleanliness. The dining area has a strong mildew odor which really gross’s me out. And the glassware and plates don’t seem to clean either. I always test out sushi places for lunch bc the lunch specials are usually much less expensive. So perhaps they clean up later in the day.

Food and staff were excellent. No frills Quality Japanese food. Fresh fish of quality. Here is where I would recommend improvement. The seating. The chair I pulled out for myself had a huge black stain running down the center as if someone had immediately pooped out the food right on the chair. The lady directed me to the seat, I pulled out the chair, saw the chair and decided to sit on the other side. Other thing I would change is the glasses. I ordered a sprite. I heard them pop the can in the back. They poured it into a tiny glass filled to the brim with ice. I bet less than half of the sprite can fit into each glass It required two glasses to get through the meal, or one serving of coke. The bill came and they charged me $ 5.90. I paid $ 5.90 for a can of coke that probably cost them less than .40. The food was good service was excellent but not the best bang for my buck. Probably wouldn’t return.

Went here before movie. I walked in and it smelled do chemically that I wanted to leave, but unfortunately did not. My friend and I ordered a spicy salmon, a shrimp tempura and some house special roll. The special roll tasted super un fresh and so we didn’t eat it. the other two were also kind of old tasting. I’ve never not eaten sushi, even those 2 dollar rolls where you know you are risking food poisoning but we left most of it on the plate.

This place is near and dear to my heart. A year ago, my fiancé set up the perfect proposal at this restaurant. But, I couldn’t properly review it because I was so overwhelmed I couldn’t eat the food! Finally, yesterday for our proposiversary, we had dinner here and I was really pleased. We arrived a little after 8 on Saturday night and only 2 other tables were occupied. We looked over the menu promptly and the waitress brought over hot green tea and water. We ordered 2 starters first and then continued to peruse the menu. We ordered the stack of avocado, chopped tuna, and lobster salad that was absolutely delicious. It could have used a bit more of a kick for my palate but it was good. The crispy rice was amazing. Flattened brown rice crisped to perfection with sliced avocado, spicy tuna, eel sauce, and a sliver of fresh jalapeño. It was delicious. For our entrée we decided to split the Misaki sushi special, which was 2 pieces of tuna, 2 of salmon, and 2 of yellowtail, a yellowtail scallion roll, and a tuna roll. We opted for a salmon roll rather than a tuna roll and they had no issue with that. Everything was fresh. The pieces were HUGE. They were practically double pieces. My fiancé has monk fish liver that was a very hefty portion as well. Their shrimp tempura appetizer was plentiful and fried perfectly. The batter was light and tasty. I couldn’t be happier that the place that is so special to me is also incredibly delicious. If you like traditional Japanese spots, this is for you!

One if the local gems in the town of manhasset, from what the town has the offer, this seafood place is one of the best quality. The staff is real nice and they’ll provide anything by on whim. Trust me this place is the spot, in town.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from this place. Thought it might be Chinese run, but given the good reviews, we thought we’d give it a try. It was outstanding. Kuni the owner and head sushi chef is from Hokkaido and Amen was a great host. There isn’t much of an ambiance, but the food was fresh and expertly prepared. They had some traditional dishes that you can’t find at some sushi joints, like ankimo, my favorite. Until Yamaguchi ever reopens, this is our new low key great food spot. I’m glad we tried it and we made some new friends at the same time! We’ll be back!

Average menu, higher-than-average quality Walked in around noon and was surprised to find this small, quaint place pretty empty. I agree with other reviewers, the menu was standard, couldn’t find a unique-type roll in the sparse menu. Ordered a sushi and sashimi lunch special which came with both the house salad, miso soup as well as a side of gyoza. Gyoza was yummy, the sushi and sashimi were fresh, flavorful and in generous portions, great quality. Bottom line: in the world of trendy sushi restaurants sprouting up everywhere, with their overdone, panko and/or sauce-laden rolls, this place may be plain, but it’s quality stands out. If you’re a sushi lover like me, bring a sushi beginner and you can rediscover why you fell in love with sushi all over again.

I LOVE sushi. I could easily eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and still beg for more. Well, I like good sushi and unfortunately Misaki does not fall in that category. A friend of mine really wanted to try this place, I checked Unilocal and saw mostly positive reviews, we decided to try it. Someone was looking out for me, they did not want to see me waste my hard earned money on shitty sushi, so somebody out there decided to throw some major hints in my direction to turn back around and head over to sushi yasu. I’m slow, I missed all of the obvious signs. 1st sign: We walk in and the restaurant was completely empty. 2nd sign: THEHIGHPRICES. No you dont understand. When it comes to sushi I am totally ready to make it rain on some fish, but Misaki’s prices were crazyyyy high, Manhattan prices. Spicy tuna roll was 6.25, Seaweed salad was $ 9.00, the«special» rolls were $ 16 and up. With these prices I was expecting to be BLOWNAWAY! like orgasm at the table. Misaki fell short of its goal to impress… wayyy short… epic fail. The spicy tuna roll was very dry and they forgot to add the spice. The overpriced spider roll was soggy. I assumed with these expensive prices the rolls would be huge, but no every piece was tiny. 3rd sign: The frozen house salad. Yes I said frozen. The lettuce had ice on it. 4th sign: Like other Unilocalers mentioned, the menu is b-o-r-i-n-g. I will state that our waitress was very nice! So the two stars are for her.

Standard, but fresh! Came here with my girlfriend to grab a bite to eat before a movie across the street. I got the Nasushigi appetizer which is broiled eggplant with a miso sauce and a Vegetable Roll. The Nasushigi had good flavor, it was soft and a little sweet. I liked the sauce(vegan warning: don’t have the coleslaw that comes with the eggplant dish as it is made with mayo). The Vegetable Roll was really fresh and tasty, so much so that I got another one. I did both of them with brown rice which is $ 1 extra per roll. Pleasant service and good food. I don’t think I’d go out of my way to come here again, but if I was in the area and craving sushi or wanting a bite before a movie, I’d probably stop in.

It’s a consistent neighborhood restaurant where we always get the best service and cravings satisfied! The restaurant offers fresh fish and a solid traditional Japanese menu with inspiring specials like tuna tataki and lobster salad rolls. Crispy brown rice special can be topped with spicy tuna or other fish of your choice. Fried ice-cream can come in any or combo flavors.

So maybe the menu is a little… unimaginative, but I come for the quality of the food. Order sashimi(fatty salmon, recommended) and they’re roles. One of favorites: the yellow tail collar bone. They’re ginger salad dressing is also a favorite of mine. I disagree to the claim that the quality is better in port washington’s japanese restaurants, but maybe thats just personal preference.

Misaki is a quiet and small neighborhood restaurant. Upon walking in it was pretty empty but then again it was a week night. Most restaurants in Long Island aren’t so busy on a Wednesday night. I was there with two girlfriends and as it turns out my friend coincidentally knew the waitress. I guess it is a small world after all! Both the waitress and possible owner? were very attentive and provided great service. For dinner I chose the Dynamite roll & Spicy Salmon roll which was very filling. The fish was delightfully fresh and tasty. I didn’t get a chance to have a bite of my friends Beef Negimaki but I’ll take her word for it, when she said it was delish. I do love sushi and I will say that this restaurant was a wonderful choice.
