There wasn’t much excitement when I saw the menu. My friend and I had saw this place on Unilocal and thought we’d try it out. He tried the pickled mushroom and thought it was strange. We did like the broccoli and the lamb skewers, but nothing that would bring me back here, unfortunately. I would prefer to make food at home instead.

I came to Doma Kitchen with a group of 9 to celebrate my cousins 8th grade promotion. We started with two watermelon salads, vareniki potato dumplings, and the basket of breads which were all a bit hit! Collectively we ordered French fries, several orders of the chicken Kiev, shashlik chicken skewers, and the veggie ragu. We loved everything! Our server was so attentive and friendly! We will definitely be back!

Truly amazing food and service. You haven’t visited this crossroads of culture. National geographic has yet to describe this experience. Grandma makes the potato dumplings with onion and mushroom. Grandma! Unheard of. Speaking of unheard of, ever tried Hungarian wine? Buy it here and die happy. Can’t praise them enough here. A rare find anywhere in America and a must do for Californians. Rarely does a restaurant grace our shores that simply can’t exist anywhere else. This is it. Chicken & waffles or Chicken Pelmeni? Lamb shashlik or Lamb Plov? Dingac or Coronitsa? If you don’t understand the question you’re still stuck in Asian fusion. Go here and taste freedom.

Fantastic plov and potato dumplings. Really flavorful and tasty. Also loved the Russian honey cake and the French press coffee was an excellent pairing. More than anything else, really enjoyed that the restaurant had excellent music and really prompted a good relaxed conversation versus blaring tv’s. Thanks Brittany for some Great suggestions! We will be back for sure!

It’s so refreshing to get excellent Eastern European dishes that are flavorful and modern! I love the menu here. Bavarian bread, Borsh and Brighton Beach eggs Benedict are some of my favorites! Highly recommend this place for their delicious food and super friendly service

Dear DOMA Kitchen, I heard about the construction that is happening to the Manhattan Village Mall. They are going to be tearing down your building, which was anchored by Pacific Theaters years ago. DOMA, don’t ever close your doors(eternally to say the least), I want you to stay in Manhattan Beach, albeit in a newer space. I like having you here. You almost hired me in November, shortly after I got discharged from my job at ArcLight. Almost-employee, Alex Martinez P. S. I am currently employed with P.F. Chang’s since December 2015.

Great spot. Unique menu for the area. The pelmeni was excellent, tons of flavor. Took my wife their for an early Friday dinner, the happy hour menu was a little small but it made up for it in quality.

Fantastic restaurant, food and service. A simple trip to Fry’s turns into a visualized trip to Slovenia and other Slavik countries. From the hibiscus iced tea, pickled cucumbers, watermelon salad, lamb salad, dumplings and pierogis. First class all the way. Our waiter Michael was a great guide through the menu and explained everything perfectly. We ended with the carrot cake and each had a glass of milk. Enjoy!

I am really in love with this restaurant! I had an amazing mussel/clam/noodle(Boardwalk Shellfish Kettle) tomato dish. It was totally amazing! In the pic you’ll see the delicious 8 Layer Russian Honey Cake we had for dessert. I’ll be back often. Be sure to try it out. Reservations are strongly suggested.

So I first had DOMA when I attended a ladies event they catered at Bay Club South Bay and I knew that I had to dine here again. The Bavarian garlic bread is ridiculous. It’s toasted yet soft in the middle, and the dipping sauce has a little kick but not overpowering. The kale salad is light and refreshing and I like the sweetness from the grapes in every bite too. The bread and salad go very well together. As for parm fries… well fries are great with everything. Their ketchup is homemade so it was a little chunkier tan normal but I liked it as well. Cute little joint tucked away just north of the Manhattan Village Mall within the same parking lot. Friendly staff and if you check in on Unilocal, you can get a free iced tea! Yeay… So happy Doma kitchen is back :-) For those who don’t know, this restaurant’s former location was mainly patio dining in Redondo Beach which now located to Manhattan Beach, right behind Fry’s Electronics near the Manhattan Beach Village shopping center. Much better location as far as parking goes although I really liked the Open patio seating before as well. Doma Kitchen serves mostly Eastern European food such as lamb shashlik, chicken shashlik, lamb stroganoff. But there’s also lots of California on the menu. Here are some of my favorites yummy dishes from the menu Yes please give me some Plov and lagman. Both are Uzbek in origin. Plov consists of simmered rice, spices and vegetables which you can also add lamb or chicken or salmon. Turmeric is the predominant spice that gives the rice a distinct taste. This dish has become quite popular at Doma Kitchen because it is gluten free. Lagman is a lamb and noodle soup. The dish consists of lamb, onions, carrots, tomatoes, celery and noodles. Doma Kitchen gave it an Asian twist by including Chinese egg noodles. Last but not least would be Pelmini the Russian/Siberian style stuffed dumplings, with ground chicken, served in vegetable soup with Dill and sour cream. Doma Kitchen servers Wine and Beer ONLY. Staff is extremly friendly and I recommend making reservation speically for weekends.

Wow, I do not agree with Unilocalers here. I used to loooooove this place when it was down in Redondo but they moved(I hear due to kitchen size.) and I no longer dig it. While service is friendly and attentive, the food and $$ was definitely not worth it!(prices soared since moving!!!) My hubby and I came here a couple weeks ago. We brought our dog so we had to sit outside on their patio… not much to look at, just a parking lot outside of Macy’s. We both ordered a glass of wine. My husband red, me white. My white was room temp. BOO! On top of that, they don’t have wine glasses… they served us in juice glasses which do the wine no favors.(Cheap wine also… tasted so sugary, but they were like $ 12 and $ 14 a glass… I expect something a little better than what tastes like Sutter Homes.) My husband ordered the Brighton Beach Benedict and I had the special benedict of the day I guess. Small portions(Again for $ 14.) that lack flavor. They also come with no sides… no potatoes, salad, bread? The bread that my benedict came on was too dry as well. I cannot find what it was online so I’m not sure what to tell you not to order. :(Sorry. All in all, we spent over $ 65 bucks here and left hungry. I’d like to say we will give it another shot, but the prices are not worth trying again. Do yourself a favor and pass on this place. Got to MB post, Crème de la crêpe, Martha’s or Yellow vase. We will definitely not be returning.

One of the best places in LA for borsch! It was amazing. Packed with meat and potatoes with a side of sour cream and warm toasted multi grain bread. Perfection! I ordered plov with side of lamb. This was not my favorite. The traditional plov is made differently than this one. It had cumin and curry, more Indian type vs Eastern European. The curry was so overpowering that I opted out of rice and left it. The meat was very tender and juicy. Service was slacking a bit too, maybe they were busy, but they do have a Lithuanian chef who was the highlight of our trip there. She makes the borsch from scratch! Also, on down side is that the do not serve beef stroganoff and shish kebabs during lunch and they should, that’s the reason why we came here. The lunch menu is very Americanized. Overall, I would skip plov. For $ 18 I will not have it again. The prices here are steep and the food is hit or miss.

If you’re in the mood to try something different, this is the place. Doma Kitchen features dishes from Eastern Europe. DUMPLINGS: Their most popular dish are the dumplings. If I heard right, the chef’s grandmother is from Lithuanian and passed down this recipe to her. I had the potato dumplings which were amazing because they’re topped with shiitake mushroom which I love. Next on my list to try are the chicken dumplings. SEAFOODPOT: it was a special and boy was it good! If you love mussels and clams(cooked in tomato stock) this is the dish for you. There were so many mussels and clams that our plates were overflowing with shells. It was so good my husband embarrassed me by drinking the tomato stock directly from the pot. The dish comes with some pasta as well. This dish is great to share. BEEFLIVERANDONIONS: it was good, but the beef liver was a bit strong for me. If this is your thing you’ll love it. Everything else on the plate(potatoes, broccolini) was cooked perfectly. 8LAYERRUSSIAN«HONEYCAKE»: with sour cream whipped cream and the biscuits were soaked in honey overnight. The nicest thing I can say about this cake is that it’s different. This is not your typical dessert. It’s not sweet and because the layers are made with biscuits rather than actual cake, it’s kind of dry. Don’t expect any fluffy cake. It would have tasted better with some ice cream, but that would make it less authentic. I’m glad I tried it though.

Doma Kitchen is in probably one of the busiest intersections in El Segundo. Private parking lot is large and free and though it is busy, it will not be difficult to find a spot. This restaurant is very cute, very hipster and serves organic foods. I ordered the vegetarian sandwich and I remember that it was tasty and filling. It wasn’t bad at all. I just for the life of me have the hardest time remembering where this place was until I saw the receipt again.

Doma means«home» in the Slavic language. Pretty good way to start off my morning. Very nice décor, I would say rustic modern. Interesting artwork is displayed on the walls and is for sale. Michelle, my waitress, was very helpful with my menu questions and by bringing me refills. Started off with the strawberry lemonade with cranberries, tart but enough sweetness to taste great. Didn’t see that they had mimosas and sangria but maybe I’ll try next time. Still early after my morning run. So I had to choose from the breakfast menu. I went with the Chicken and Waffles with eggs on the side. Normally it comes with fried eggs but I asked for the eggs to be scrambled. The eggs were terrific, they added a little green onion. Surprisingly the eggs were the best part of my meal, maybe because I do not eat eggs too often. The chicken is breaded panko chicken that was served hot on top of the waffles. A very enjoyable breakfast, I can’t wait to come back and try their lunch menu items.

If you like greasy salty and sweet food this place is not for you. However if you like the smoothest black coffee that needs zero cream and sugar, the most crisp fries, and the most flavorful chicken burger eat here. This place is amazing fresh with out over powering spices and sauces. Everything taste very natural and earthy. Check it out if you try to keep it healthy and try the pour over drip coffee. Thanks DOMA

We loved our meal. I came here with a friend who just arrived from Peru. I ordered«Vareniki»: potato dumplings, caramelized onions, shiitake mushrooms, it’s a must try. My friend ate the chicken tacos and we shared the sweet potatoes fries with cinnamon and brown sugar. The ambience is very casual and modern. The staff very friendly and smile all the time. I highly recommend this place

While shopping at Manhattan Beach’s Manhattan Village, I spotted a sign saysing«Doma Kitchen now opened across Macys.» This sign had me intrigued and I soon found out that Doma Kitchen, the cute little eatery specializing in European and Central Asian had made it’s way to a new home in Manhattan Beach! Previously located in Redondo Beach, they are now located right by Manhattan Village. I had always driven past the Redondo Beach location but never had a chance to check out. I once in awhile find myself shopping at Manhattan Village and thus I was thrilled to see the new location of Doma Kitchen right next to the mall! I finally had the chance to try it out! I came during brunch with a friend. I liked that I got to see both the brunch menu and the regular menu and we decided to get one item for each. Our choices were the Eggs and Mushrooms Tartine($ 12) and the Chicken Dumplings in Broth, «Pelmeni»($ 14). The food is very flavorful and different. It was my first time to have Eastern European cusine and I liked it. I enjoyed the«Pelmeni» a lot. The Siberian chicken dumplings in this soup were delcious and the whole soup was very fulfilling. As for the tartine, this is one great vegetarian dish. I’ve always been a mushroom fan and loved how they had plenty of shiitake mushrooms in this. Being also an egg fan, I liked the egg and mushroom combo for this open faced sandwich. I’m happy to see Doma Kitchen in Manhattan Beach. They bring even more good cusine to the melting pot of various delicious eateries in the beach cities.

My husband and I have been here for brunch once and dinner about 3 times in the past month when we first discovered it. Staff is consistently friendly. This past Monday the Mr and I came in and stayed for a long time because our house was without power and the waitress and the owner were so gracious! It’s got a bit of hipster kind of vibe but without the hipster type service(a la «you-wait-forever»). Usually my husband and I don’t like hipster type places because service is usually a bust but everyone here is so on point and prompt(it could be that they are getting situated in their new location). The cuisine is very eclectic, it’s Russian, Jewish, Asian and others. So far this is what we have had and really enjoyed thus far : Boardwalk Shellfish Kettle — this one is HUGE order only if you are hungry or will be sharing. Very flavorful. Chicken Kiev — the Mr has gotten this a couple times and it’s very good — very juicy on the inside. It doesn’t look like chicken the outside because its rolled up into a football shaped ball and fried. But the minute you cut towards the center the juice from the chicken comes out, so it’s definitely not dry at all. It stuffed chicken by the way with spinach I believe. They out udon noodles on the bottom. There’s not enough broth in it for it to be considered a soup in my opinion. Grilled salmon — the salmon was nice and crispy served over a bed of «kasha» which the Mr taught me was buckwheat! It was very filling. Lamb and Chicken skewers– a very good starter! You do just get one small skewer of each just FYI. The beet and pesto spread on toast — OMG! Pure genius! If you like both then this will be a treat! I think I may have found my favorite starter here! Cheese plate — very good and interesting variety of cheeses. It’s good to share if you have 2 – 3 people. Cucumber Salad — amazing! If you like crunchy cucumber salads that they serve at Asian restaurants then you will like this! And they give you quite a bit! Kale salad — if you like kale or just feel like eating grass for the day this dish is good with their house dressing which is amazing! What I did not like there were the mushrooms. Which my husband said in the beginning I may not like and he was right! They were cold and soaked in vinegar. So much for trying something new lol. Desserts: for Autumn they have a pumpkin cake in a jar that is amazing, especially if you enjoy cinnamon this is such a treat! I also have tried the crepes — I like all crepes! Cheers!

My boyfriend is Ukrainian so I am always treated to delightful dishes from Eastern Europe. I want to say… as a Ukrasian, I’ve tried enough traditional Ukrainian dishes to know what’s legit and what’s not. First of all, the borscht from Doma tasted just like the one my boyfriend makes. Even the dollop of sour cream on the side is exactly how my Ukrainian family makes it! I was equally impressed by the Plov– which my boyfriend later explained to me is Pilaf. And the kasha & bratwurst introduced some unique flavored from Germany. All of the above were good. What really topped it off was the lamb stroganoff. Mm-mm-MMM! So delicious. And the crispy yet thick chips sprinkled on top made the texture even better. I’m not much of a drinker. Although I’ll enjoy a pretty glass of red wine from time to time, I prefer water any day. Every bottle Doma’s sommelier recommended were fabulous, but I only remember the eiswein :) because it was the sweetest! That’s how you know I’m not a drinker… I only go for the wines that taste like candy!
