As a warning to parents who are seeking to help their high school student pick up classes over the summer, this school is a very poor option. The administration is highly disorganized, not responsive, and tends to switch teachers throughout the courses, constantly rescheduling class appointments. Halstrom pales in comparison to other private options in the South Bay. Do not waste your money here. The cost of classes at the school in no way matches the product offered.

My son took 4 courses over the summer for credit recovery. I must say, I was very, very impressed with Halstrom Academy. All classes were one-​on-​one, utilizing facetime, and they were very on-​task, but at the same time, very flexible with my son’s schedule since he is a student-​athlete with a very busy schedule. I would recommend this program to any student. The staff at the Academy is friendly, very knowledgeable and most of all, while they taught my son, they were also very encouraging and positive.
Although the tuition may be a little high, it is worth every single dollar — and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anybody.
