Sorry. I was a bit liberal with ~$ 1000 it is $ 677 + $ 200+ carpet cleaning that we personally paid (i doubt our carpets were cleaned before we moved in) so $ 877. And yes, I view the $ 200 carpet cleaning to be as taken out of our deposit because it is an out of pocket expense for me.
Yes I’m disgruntled. Yes I’ve tried to make it entirely public that this company is bad news. Other than the $ 877 rounded to ~$ 1000 because i didn’t have time to look at all the receipts, nothing is exaggerated. Yes, I was trying to convey my anger in my emails. I don’t think any of it was disrespectful.
My original email to IPM dated 10/​18/​2014:
«Dear Mike and Caitlin,
I am beyond upset on how much Inland Pacific Management have deducted from our deposit. A total of 450 + 120 + 107.
We were charged 107 $ for light bulbs and a door bell that DID NOT WORK IN THE FIRST PLACE. IT NEVER WORKED BUT WE DIDN’T KNOW BECAUSE WE HARDLY USED THE DOORBELL. And besides, I’m assuming it took the replacement of a battery which does not cost more than 10 $. I provided and left energy saving light bulbs in the unit!!! All lights worked when I left the unit! The electricity was turned off. How are we charged any amount of money for this?! WHAT DOESN’T WORK AND WHY DID YOU HAVE TO REPLACE THE BULBS?!
And what is the point of me working my ass off to clean the place. 120 $ to clean it again when it was already pristine. I assume this is after the painters entered as they dirtied the place up again. As Mike said, it looks cleaner than when we received it. I cleaned ALL appliances inside and out. That infuriates me beyond belief. Even Mike said that he thought we had a professional come in and clean the place based on his assessment. Give me photos because I have taken photos after I cleaned the place and it looks as good as it can get.
I am beside myself about painting all the cabinet doors. 450 $ to paint those things + touch up, whatever that means. YOU KNOW THAT IN ONE YEAR WE COULD NOT MAKE THAT WEAR AND TEAR. IT WAS PROVIDED TO US IN THAT CONDITION. The doors were already chipping paint when we arrived. Ask Mike and he knows that is the truth.
This is completely beyond belief. You have completely taken advantage of us and this is an outrage.»
To which I wrote a letter to the property owner as they suggested on 10/​27/​2014. IPM emailed me back on 12÷1÷2014 after i prodded them about it since i didn’t hear a response back for over a month. Thanks IPM for following up on that! You guys are great.

Frankly Speaking I wish this place would go OUT OF BUSINESS, for 3 logical reasons.
1– Un-​professional.
2– ATTITUDE — They simply don’t give a flying fig.
3– And even if you submitted all required documentation FIRST in line and your financials are OK, they will pick whom they find suitable, regardless of any financial problems
I frankly was looking for a comfortable location for the next year, and I found 2 locations that was ran by this management place on Artesia Blvd.
walked IN, and followed instructions all the way on the first Apt… called in in two days after submitting all paperwork to follow up… they said its rented.
I was like OK, Lets find something else. So I found another one and fate has taken me back to those guys (IPM) again.
I thought let me try a different approach as I really liked the property. So I offered more MONEY than what they were asking, and even advised to speak directly to the landlord, to seal the deal, rather than dealing with mediators. YET they refused to give out LAndlord’s email. So i had no choice but to trust them on relaying the msg to the landlord. I waited a whole 48 hours and gave them a call to follow up if the landlord would consider my unorthodox offer. or at least I would be able to negotiate.
An alfa male answered saying that the property is rented. I was like, How come the landlord didnt come back to me if you REALLY relayed the msg especially I offered more than what he was asking for???
the dude said, the property is rented and he only works there.
I was SURE.
After reading all the previous Unilocal msgs, they simply say that to get away from upset customers. And apparently they have a lot, for the way they are dealing with people. inappropriate.

I was like, «is ethnicity the PROBLEM»? he said no,
I was like SURE.
My 2 cents on the subject, NO fair opportunity at this location.
and I wish they would leak any of my private information, as i will pursue legal actions against them .
wish them all the best BUT I HIGHLY dont recommend this firm to anyone.

This is the first review I have written in over a year. My wife and I live in a duplex in Hermosa Beach that is managed by IPM. Due to our unit being on the older side (like many rentals in HB) we have had some issues with plumbing, heating, lighting, etc. IPM has been very responsive with our needs/​requests while maintaining a positive attitude. Caitlin and the staff all do a fantastic job!

I rented from Inland Pacific Property Management and I could not have been happier. They were always very easy to get a hold of and deal with. Every time I had an issue or concern (which were very few), Caitlin jumped on top of it immediately. I think what I admired most was the fact that I knew her name and she knew mine. It really felt like i was dealing with a real person who understood my issues and addressed them like I was a person, and not some number. On top of that checking out of the apartment was as easy as checking in. Seamless. Coming from a Property Management background I know how important this is. 5 stars all the way

Customer service is not on their radar screens. They don’t return phone calls and when they do, it’s as if I’m bothering them. You place applications with them and they don’t call with status. it doesn’t take over a week to know if you’re qualified. We all know how things work. Apparently it isn’t the property management who makes any decisions whatsoever, the landlord pays this company to be a middleman and add layers of bureaucracy to what should be a simple process. If you are a landlord, save yourself the headache and money and list the property yourself, or find a different management company.

I’ve never had a better renting experience. Any time we have an issue with the house we’re renting, it is resolved quickly. Sometimes, it is resolved within a couple hours of reporting it.
We had one small error on their side with one of our rent checks, but it was resolved quickly. That is the only reason they didn’t get five stars from me. Other than that, they’ve been fantastic!

I’m guessing Inland Pacific has had an overhaul in staff since the first few reviews. I’ve been renting a house with them in Redondo Beach for over a year and a half. They always respond quickly and professionally when I have a concern. They are easy to work with and I strongly recommend them. I wouldn’t rent with anyone else.

When we decided to rent out our home instead of selling it when we moved out of the area, I had no idea where to even begin. Mike Miller and his team at IPM have made the process the easiest part of our move!
Mike is incredibly patient and professional. He’s guided me through every step of the process from explaining all the legal matters to advice on what repairs to make on the house to even advising on paint colors! I receive a response to my many (and I mean MANY) emails and phone calls almost immediately.
It’s so refreshing in this day and age to deal with someone who is so focused on friendly, reliable costumer service.

These people are first rate; I know because I have worked with a couple of other rental companies in the area. They are prompt and efficient. In fact they were recommended to me by a woman who used them to find a property to rent. They represent me as a landlord, rents received on time and mailed with a detail accounting. The tenants in my house are very happy with them.

I really have to say these guys were great to work with.
I lived in one of their buildings for a year and a half, I had a fantastic building manager, Bob, who was always available whenever I needed help. Any issues with the apartment were minimal and fixed right away while I was at work so I never really had to deal with anything. At one point the city was giving me a hard time about my parking pass, but I went to the Inland Pacific Management office and they helped me with the paperwork right away.
When I moved out, Kevin came to my apartment for a pre-​screen and handled everything very professionally. I received my deposit (minus cleaning costs, which had already been discussed) quickly.
I’m sorry that other people gave this company negative reviews, but I think it’s also the type of service that you wouldn’t really think to write about on Unilocal if they’re doing their job well. People very rarely call their building manager to say «Everything is great! Thanks for doing an awesome job!» But really, everything was fantastic from start to finish working with these guys.

«Seymour» and the gang over at Inland Pacific Management were not enjoyable to deal with. They wasted a lot of my time and energy, were incredibly slow to reply to my calls and emails during the application process and were not forthcoming with pertinent information. Very unprofessional and unimpressive to deal with from the office building tenant applicant side.

I have lived in a house managed by IPM for over a year. They came once for some sort of inspection, barely looked around, and left. They have been told by one of my roommates about a bathroom faucet that needed repair, but no response. Now it turns out that one of my rent checks didn’t make it to their office. I have had them sent electronically through my bank on the 28^th of each month ever since I moved in. First they called my roommate about it (although they should know which check didn’t come through). I called them back immediately, described the situation, left my phone number, and the guy who answered the phone said he would call me back if there were any issues. I never heard back from them. Then, two weeks later, they sent a letter threatening legal action if I didn’t pay my rent within 3 days. I called again and was transferred three times and spoke to both Mike and Kevin, who both appeared very annoyed with me. I left my number again, but wouldn’t be surprised if they called my roommate again. This wouldn’t have been a problem at all if they were a little bit better organized (which is, quite frankly, their job: to manage). I haven’t had much interaction with them, but based on the lack of response to the broken faucet, and their way of handling the missing check, I would recommend staying away from them.

I agree with the first reviewer… I will be happy to give my 30 day notice next week. I’m looking on Westside Rentals to find a new, bigger place but do not want to find another apartment managed by Inland Pacific. They are not aware in the office of what’s happening at their apartment sites and it takes many phone calls to get basic repairs done. They got a 2^nd star from me today because they finally fixed my broken handle on the kitchen window which I have asked about for about a month. Finally I can get some air flow through my apartment!

If you can find another management company to handle rental business with I STRONGLY suggest doing so. These guys are pain to deal with, incredibly unprofessional and rude and can’t seem to get their paperwork right!
This was not the rental management company that I initially rented my property from. Mid tenancy the owner changed to these clowns to manage the property and I regret not moving out sooner than I did.
I am not a disgruntled ex-​tenant. I believe in fair business and also being a fair customer. This is NOT a customer or tenant friendly company, and the co-​owner Mike Miller is a rude jerk who has no customer service skills whatsoever!
