Let me preface this review by letting you know that I’ve been living here for about a month now while I search for the perfect place in Los Angeles. If you’re looking for a no frills, quick place to stay the weekend for a reasonable price in Northern Manhattan Beach, you’ve found it. If you’re looking for luxury and 10,000 thread count sheets with a fire cyclone and marble. You better go somewhere else. David does a good job of turning a place around that has been run to the ground by prior management with shady practices. David has made it a safe, affordable, quiet place to stay/live. He has a knack for cutting out those with bad intentions, and it shows for those of us that have been living here temporarily. It’s not the nicest. It still holds the scars of managers and bad tenants past, but as the new season comes, so do the improvements. If you look past the things that need to be improved, you’ll be satisfied for a few days here. I mean, you’re vacationing in effing Manhattan Beach. Why would you stay in your room? The neighborhood is safe, and everyone knows everyone. If your intentions are bad, they will be discovered quickly. Just don’t try it. Infamous one sentence review of Manhattan Beach Motel… «Don’t bring your high horse because there is not enough room for it anyway. It’s an affordable, quiet room in a good part of town.» (that was two but for Christ’s sake… I live here)
