Manhattan Beach Police Department

It took one hour last night for a Policeman to respond to an assault on our vehicle while stopped at a light on Sepulveda Blvd. The same people had assaulted a car in Hermosa previously that night.

This review is specifically for the records department lady. She’s older and I don’t know her name but she also has short hair and the worst attitude Ever. Whatever I get your old but if you can’t handle work STAY THE F HOME LADY. lol my car was was parked and hit by a drunk driver before thanksgiving, police left a note on my car telling me to call for a report. I called requested one and they said it would be ready in 7 – 10 days. I come 7 days later they said it would only be 3 more days I say ok no problem. I wait another week go in on a Tuesday and request the report they said it’s not ready. So I request to speak to whoever is in charge of records to see if maybe I can just get the insurance of the guy because 2 weeks is a long time to not know if you will be covered by someone else’s insurance for their careless mistakes. This woman came out with fury just mad af. She was giving all sorts of attitude and screaming at me and my husband saying we come in 3 times a week asking for it. Uhhhh b this is our 2^nd time coming in. Get it right. So I start screaming at her back proving her wrong and what not calling her out on her disrespectful and wrong attitude and she shuts it off and cowers and starts crying saying everyone is bugging her about the report. Idc if ur crying now lady don’t come at me like if there wasn’t a glass you would
Do something to me. I honestly think since we are young, my husband is Hispanic and I’m of Filipino and Israeli descent we were judged and thought she could get away with her disgusting behavior. When your working a government job in such a beautiful city with their residents asking for help you should slap a smile on your face.

I’ve been driving for 40+ years and have received four tickets in that time. Three out of four times, the officers were courteous and professional. Not so in Manhattan Beach.
I was pulled over for crossing a double yellow line just one car length before I was legally entitled to do so. Officer Presgraves was confrontational right from the start. He seemed to calm down after I admitted my guilt, but then became rude and sarcastic. The whole encounter was upsetting, and not because I received a ticket.
As a middle-​aged white guy with money, I’m generally supportive of the police. But after witnessing this officer’s confrontational style, it’s clear that Manhattan Beach cops are not always fair and objective in their treatment of citizens.

LOVE THEM! The response time to a call is unbelievably fast. Given the recent burglaries and the attempted kidnapping I have been a little on edge. I arrived home late last night and when I let my dogs out in the front yard they went crazy. When I went to the fence to get them I saw a man that had just parked in front of my house. His car was facing the wrong way on the street. He tried talking to me and asking me for a light. Then he raised his car hood, before he could ask to use my phone I went inside and called the police, bc this seemed really weird since it was12:30 am. They were at my house almost instantly! It’s good to know if you need them they arrive fast!

Parked by the Pier to use the restroom just after 9 PM. Unknown to me the parking lot closed at 9 PM. I’m not from the area so I was unaware of the local parking regulations. Numerous other cars parked the parking lot.
Returned to my car a few minutes later as a parking control officer was walking up to my car. She told me I was parked in violation of the signs which I did not see due to the darkness. I said I would move immediately. She started writing me a ticket. I asked if she could just warn me. The parking officer stated, «Consider yourself warned for next time.» She handed me a citation. WOW! Seriously? I bet she wonders why there is such an anti-​police attitude these days. The parking officer was rude and insensitive turning her back on me and walking away while I was attempting to discuss the citation with her. There were about 30 other people cited in the lot at that time. It is dark and hard to see the signs.
Attempted to appeal through the normal process. Of course the feedback from the police department was typical «Nuremberg Defense» stuff. Just doing her job. You were parked in violation of the posted signs. Typical letter of the law garbage. What a pathetic and petty way to treat the public. Especially a person who is very pro police.
Rest assured, thanks to the Manhattan Beach PD it will be a long long time till I return and patronize any business in their town.

Spent the night at this hotel & let me tell you very uncomfortable beds and my room didn’t even have a light switch very bright I’m only giving 3 stars because of the two slices of bread that I used as a pillow
