I have never written a review on Unilocal before however I had such terrible customer service I felt compelled to. I came in here this past Sunday around 2pm to order wedding invitations. I had a lot of questions and when I asked the person working she said she was just told to google any customer questions. I only was going to order my invitations there because I was hoping someone could help. Obviously I can google my questions. She never came back to see if she could help in any way. I ended up leaving and the sales associate saw me walk out and didn’t say a word. If I was at the Papyrus corporate office I would be very concerned about the customer service at this location. I was prepared to spend a lot of $$ on my invitations and now I’m giving my business to someone who knows how to help their customers when they have questions.

I love Papyrus, and I’m so grateful to find a store near me. Welcoming and helpful staff. It may be small, but it’s well-​designed, so that you can find most anything you need easily (and then some). I always leave with more than I’d intended to buy.

Popped in here with a friend to get a birthday card for her sister. I have never been into a Papyrus before so I was pleasantly surprised to see that they have a wide variety of nice gift wrap to wrap gifts with. Didn’t get anything wrapped, so I can’t really say anything on quality.
When I’m buying a card for someone, I don’t like it when they say stuff in them. I like blank cards and there wasn’t really a «blank card» section in this location. I looked around but most cards were pretty specific. birthday, graduation, anniversary, condolences … I just wish they had some non descript cards that had cute /​cool designs on the front.
The two girls that were working there were chatty with each other but not with us and didn’t ask us if we needed help with anything (not that we did, really) or even say hello or goodbye to us when we came/​went.

Terrible customer service.
The first time I came in the lady that makes personalized cards couldn’t help me because she wasn’t clocked in yet. I told her I needed to pick up a child from school so I couldn’t wait around for her to clock in. She told me to come back the next day. This was very frustrating.
The next day I came in to order over $ 600 worth of cards. The order was very simple. The cards finally arrived four months later but they were not what I ordered. When I called papyrus to tell them there was a mistake the same lady told me to go to kinkos and get the cards cut. I went to kinkos because he refused to exchange them. Kinkos ended up cutting the cards crooked.
I went back to papyrus for a third time and talked to the same woman who claims at his point she is the manager. She tells me that I can not get them fixed, nor get a refund. My only option is to get a discounted price on a new order.
This is just rediculous considering I spent over $ 600 and this is now the fifth month I am trying to get these cards out of papyrus. Very disappointing. The manager will not let me speak to anyone above her.

Papyrus has so many beautiful cards, it is a shame that their staff isn’t as top notch. Every time I have entered the store, I have not been greeted or asked if I needed help. Usually, I am the only one in the store. I don’t want to be stalked, but a little greeting couldn’t hurt.
Cards are pricey, but wonderful quality. Just picked up an anniversary card for my parents.

This papyrus is a bit smaller than all of the others I have visited. However, they still have the essentials. Great service, and right next to a Lemonade (WHAT!).
Extra perk on the weekend as every lady in the area seems to be walking around in their tiny bikinis… you know if you’re into that type of thing.

The staff at this local store go out of their way to help.

Both Grace and Daniel were excellent! I ordered custom-​printed invitations through Grace. While Grace was out, Daniel kept everything going smoothly.

I love Papyrus products when I want something nicer than the regular «store» bought cards. I went here recently to buy graduation «Thank You» cards. They have TONS of Thank You cards to chose from.
Also, bought a very cute graduation card for a friend and a little coin purse. It is a good one-​stop shop for quick cards or little gifts. They have books, candles, picture frames and much more!
The cards are a little pricey but they aren’t your typical cards so it is worth it.
I have only been to this location (Manhattan Beach) and the Del Amo Mall (Torrance) and I must say that this location is much more unorganized but I think the worker might have gotten a shipment in that day.

I just went in and my favorite Papyrus employee, Judy, wasn’t there. They said that they don’t know when she’ll be back. I hate it when you have a relationship with your local store and they know what you like and then the person leaves. Papyrus management needs to maintain long term employees because the neighborhood gets attached. I can buy a card or gift anywhere, but I chose to go here because of the fine service I received from Judy and her staff. What is going on with Papyrus management? Do they have a clue?

Yay wedding invitations!!! The selection is endless and they have a desk for you to sit at too. Multiple 30lb binders filled with sample after sample. Vera Wang, Carlton, and other vendors have both modern and traditional styles. Even if you’re planning a destination wedding like us there is something for you. We’re actually getting ours printed with a custom logo. The ladies are very helpful and will even call the vendors for you if you’d like additional options that aren’t listed. They also have greeting cards that are super cute and gift cards on site if you’re in a bind.
Come here if you need a card, invites, or even save the dates! Don’t be afraid to tell the girls what you want too… not that I’m a bridezilla… I’m just type A! :)

I love this shop!
I ordered my wedding invitations here and they turned out perfectly. The service was great, not at all pushy, and they have a great selection.
Furthermore, the store smells lovely and well lit, which puts you in a great mood to select the first impression your wedding guests will get.
A bit pricey, but hey, I’ll get my other greeting cards from Target.

I spend a lot of money at the various Papyrus locations because I like quality greeting cards.
Today I stopped in the Manhattan Beach store to pick up a couple of birthday cards cough Maral cough Wes.
I’ve been carrying around a Papyrus frequent buyer card forever — I always forget to use it. I think it was «buy 10 cards get 1 free», dunno cause I threw it away today even though it was full. The reason: I got a bug up my ass when I tried to redeem the damn card.
Papyrus greeting cards run around 6 bucks, at least the cool ones do. The frequent buyer card is redeemable for a greeting card valued at no more than $ 3.50.
OK.
I got a handful of expensive cards in my basket at the register and expect that the $ 3.50 will simply be deducted from the price of one of them.
No. They tell me they can’t do that.
I go back to the shelves & look for a card costing no more than $ 3.50, can’t find one I like. Admittedly I am a card snob! But isn’t that the clientele Papyrus caters to?
I get the manager out of the back room.
She confirms that they can’t deduct the amount from a more expensive card.
I pay for my cards, then hand the manager my own card. It says You’ve Been Unilocaled.
I explain that I realize the employees don’t make the rules, but that I think the rule should be changed, and I plan to write about it in my review of their store.
She looks at me like I am daft! hahaha I probably am.
Dang it it’s these little annoyances in life that get me going. I don’t sweat the big stuff. I just hate indifference when it comes to customer service.
I still award 4 stars, only deducted one, will still buy Papyrus. But screw their frequent buyer card… grrrrrrrrr
