Absolute Body Pilates

I was introduced to Absolute Body Pilates through Gilt City. I bought a coupon of classes and was excited to start private Pilates sessions as it had been a while since my last Pilates class. I was introduced to Alexia (Simmons) back in September and have been hooked every since. I used to be a gymnast and it was the first form of exercise that reminded of my gymnastics days. Alexia is an amazing Pilates trainer. She is a true motivator and constantly challenging my form and skills to be the best they can be as well as making each session a ton of fun! I have seen such a difference in my level of inner core strength and can’t wait to continue learning and discovering new ways of pushing myself. I highly recommend AB Pilates and especially Alexia !!

I also discovered Absolute Body Pilates through Gilt a couple of months ago and have been amazed with the results. I feel great, my posture has improved a lot and so has my running (half-​marathon distance). I’m in significantly less back pain and I love the way my body is toning up.
My Pilates instructor, Alexia, is the best. She has been working with me since the beginning, building up my core using alternating exercises and pieces of equipment (chair, reformer, tower) so it never gets boring. The exercises are as intense as you want them to be because you are not working with heavy weights but mostly with you own body weight.
Alexia is very experienced teaching Pilates. She pays great attention to the right body alignment, explains exercises patiently and checks in continuously with you to make sure the exercises are efficient and not harming or hurting you.
I’m extremely happy with ABP and my instructor. I’d recommend it to anybody looking for a great Pilates experience.

I have been doing pilates for a while now both in classes and personal one-​on-​one training sessions. I can honestly say that Alexis is without a doubt the best instructor I have had by a longshot (we’ve been working together since Juneish). She is attentive, caring, and reassuring during our sessions. always giving me positive feedback and helping to push me through to the next level of fitness. Alexis focuses on my areas of interest, and is a great listener. I have seen such great results since working with her and have absolutely gained strength in areas I never knew I even had! She’s also always on time (early in fact), something that is important to me. I plan to continue working with Alexis for the long hall, and would highly recommend prospective clients to do the same.

As a relative newcomer to Pilates, I came to Absolute Body Pilates through a Gilt promotion about six months ago and am thrilled with the progress that I’ve already made thus far. Alexis is an incredible teacher – she is positive, motivating, understanding and always makes it fun… even when the exercises are challenging! She has an amazing ability to understand what’s happening with your body and carefully chooses and tailors the exercises to you and your body. My shoulders are less strained, my knees are less wonky, my posture improved significantly, and overall I feel much much stronger thanks to Alexis. The studio itself is immaculate – spotlessly clean and the equipment is in pristine condition. If anyone out there is toying with the idea of starting Pilates or switching to a new venue, I can’t recommend this studio highly enough!

Got a Gilt City package as a gift. I spent about 3 – 4 weeks trying to call and get an appointment as per the Gilt instructions. With no success of my own, my mother in law (who got me the gift) got a response that said she’s better via text or email. OK… So I emailed, finally making an appointment. 2 AM prior to the appointment, she texts me saying she had an emergency, which I completely understand, as LIFE HAPPENS.
However…made an appointment for the following week, which no one showed up to. As I was leaving, pretty angry, I got a call that she had overslept and Friday mornings were just not her thing… So why schedule for that time? Tell me you’re booked or something. No remediation for my time wasted was offered. Called Gilt that day to get a refund.

I have been seeing Alexis for several months after coming to her from a gilt package! After my package was done I purchased additional sessions because I’m so happy with my progress! Alexis (the owner) is a delight and has changed the way my body looks as well as how I feel!

I have worked with multiple Pilates instructors and studios in the NYC area. Alexis is amazing to say the least; from beginner to advanced her diverse exercise routine can change your feelings about exercise and Pilates. She helped rehab my arm after falling off a horse and being stepped on and currently today I am stronger than I was before the injury. I had one of the hardest work outs I have ever had this past weekend, she knows when to push you and when to give you a break. Her studio is clean, warm, inviting and relaxing. I give it 5 stars!
