WOW! I was really surprised. This place is super good food and really reasonable. I wonder why it’s not more popular, but I’m happy now that I have discovered my new go to place! Yeah! To happy tummies.

I love this place. Friendly atmosphere, rich variety of Jamaican and Guinean cuisine. Very affordable. The homemade ginger beer is tops!

Amazingly delicious food. It’s easy to walk by Baraka but I was re-​exploring my old neighborhood in Harlem and discovered this hidden gem. I believe Baraka is a blend of African & African American food but just a guess.
A plate of great food goes for about $ 7 – 8 which is not bad at all. Staff will help you identify some of the food but just trust your instincts. I had the fish, chicken, rice and collard greens to go.
There is a couple of seating but nothing fancy. You’re here for the food so stop by for something new & enjoy! Def will be back!

Excellent place to eat the food you will not find anywhere else. Very helpful staff. I loved the atmosphere here it is refreshing.

This is the home of the happy belly.
Half the fun of this place is wondering what you’re eating. I would go out on a limb, and say that I had goat short ribs. And what I thought was corn, had the texture and taste of hominy with some stewed animal knuckle. I also had sweet potato greens, rice with green herbs, and gravy with more chunks of mystery meat. Nothing at this place is labeled, you just get to hope for the best.
After a few times here, I’m finally learning what goes with what. Like the koos koos station. I was wondering what all these colorful sauces were, soup? Gravy? But apparently, get a plate of koos koos, and flavor it about eight different ways. And I will try them all.
And still, like in my last review, my one and only complaint is that there is no crunch here. This place leaves me craving a nacho or potato chips, something…
All in all, a great place. I am sure to get the small container, because it is really heavy food. A little goes a long way.
