Blackbird Organizing and Decor

I’m a self-​professed «organizer» junkie and have been through about 4 different organizing professionals here in NYC since having moved 3 years ago. This was by far the most intense, gratifying, and productive experience I’ve ever had. My typical experience was having an organizer take 2 hours for a «consult» (that’s walking around my 2 room apartment and talking) and then 3 hours to do one closet. At 95 $ per hour, it gets ridiculously expensive.
Then came Cheryl. She walked in, asked me some questions about what I wanted (which was a flea-​market chic feel) & needed (more storage); then proceeded to map out the plan. I had been waiting 2 years to completely re-​design my apartment and gave her the challenge of doing everything with 1500 $ or less (basically using flea market finds and Craigslist). By the next day, within 2 hours, she helped me purchase 3 amazing vintage pieces, and by the end of the week, she pretty much had the job done. Turns out she’s a Craigslist wiz and was able to move fast on amazing deals, emailing me with options for my approval, setting up time to go and look at the furniture, provide me with feedback, making payments, and handling the movers as well. The fact that she did this while I was at work was a huge time-​saver for me.
To boot, she came up with creative, good looking solutions (like putting up a high shelf in my bedroom for shoe storage) that made me literally jump for joy when they were implemented. Seriously, the girl is talented.
For someone like me, where I really don’t have hundreds of dollars to spend on someone re-​designing my spice rack for 3 hours, Cheryl was absolutely right on the money (pun intended). So if you find yourself gazing at the pretty pictures on the Apartment Therapy website, and feel envious of your naturally gifted neighbor who’s apartment looks «just so»; get up off your butt and give her call.
