And, it became clear — John was comfortable sharing information which may not lead to immediate business/​transaction, whereas others are transaction focused

For anyone that is skeptical about how a company can have nothing but (5) star reviews, I promise you that if you are in the market for a mortgage, calling Block Financial will be the best decision you have ever made. At the suggestion of friends, my husband and I reached out to Jeff Nunez. Communication began and continued from the looking process, being out bid on two homes, and then finally obtaining an accepted offer. He and Ava held our hand throughout the entire process: from Pre approval to Close on our first home. My husband is a veteran so we decided to go the VA route (which has the reputation of being long and complicated) everyone, including our agent and Real Estate attorney could not believe how quickly we were able to close. There are not enough good things to say about the level of customer service, the open and honest communication, answering all of our questions in a timely manner, locking us in at an incredible rate, and looking out for us by finding ways to save us money where they could. They absolutely made what is already a stressful process, so much more bearable and easy to manage. I highly recommend this firm, Jeffrey Nunez, and Ava for all of your mortgage needs! I recently closed on a mortgage and used Block Financial Resources. This is the third time I’ve used them and had a very positive experience. I’ve personally been through nearly a dozen mortgages and refinances plus I’ve been close to a dozen more of friends and family. I’ve worked with a handful of brokers and before I met Sean, I am fortunate that I’ve never been screwed but none of the other brokers were that great either. Since I started working with Sean, he has helped me on one primary mortgage, 2 refinances, and I’ve given him 4 referrals to family members. He is, beyond question, one of my trusted vendors in life and also a friend.
After all these transactions, I’ve learned that when working with mortgage brokers, there are 3 things to consider. First, pricing. Second, the intrinsics such as honesty/​integrity/​knowledge. Third, ease of interactions. I’m going to review Sean on these three dimensions.
1. Price: quite frankly, I believe any decent mortgage broker has access to the same lending opportunities so I don’t think this is differentiating for anyone. Having said that, I always compared Sean’s quotes to national averages and they were always inline.
2. Honesty/​Integrity/​knowledge: although IMO all brokers have access to similar lending opportunities, they can choose how they present it/​package it for you. With Sean, there is NEVER a doubt that you are getting the best deal. He is smart and experienced which enables him to source and identify the best deals and he always keeps the customer’s needs above his own — that’s honesty & integrity.
3. Ease of Interaction: Financing is not an easy process. It takes a while and markets can shift, your situation can change… needless to say, it can be rough. When you are dealing with that, what you really need is a broker who is in it with you and Sean is that guy. He is persistent without being pushy, kind without being a pushover, and he never gives up. Okay, Sean is great — I’ve established that. Beyond Sean, however, he has an experience support team that also helps him execute. He also has deep relationships in the industry which allows him to pull off a miracle from time to time — I’ve been on the receiving end and I’m still grateful.
Bottom line, I met the last broker I’ll ever need.

We decided to refinance our Manhattan co-​op so I called some banks and we got the names of some brokers from people we know in the real estate business. Finding a decent mortgage broker in NYC is like trying to find a seat on a Manhattan bound L train at 8.45 in the morning. Utterly impossible. The problem of course: no one has bothered to compile a reliable go to source of inspiration. Its sporadic at best. A little information here, a horrible corporate looking website there. When relentless hour upon hour became day after day, then rolled in weeks of searching for a trustworthy individual who didn’t resemble a slimy car salesman, I gave Unilocal an opportunity to be my mortgage savior. It was there I discovered Bloch Financial Resources. I picked up the phone and dialed Sean. Instant calm.
Sean proved himself reliable, diligent and exceptionally patient. The paperwork for my mortgage transaction stood close to 3 inches tall. A bewildering stack of incomprehensible jargon that could only be deciphered by a professional. Sean broke down the complex mystery of the mortgage process into simple and easily understood terms. My financial circumstances were complicated, which added additional layers of fun. Despite the added complexity Sean remain focused, at no point did he seemed fazed or perplexed.
