This was THEWEIRDEST restaurant experience we’ve had in ages. Here’s what other customers experienced, followed by what happened to us during our first visit one Sunday morning. In general, the place was busy but everyone was seated and served promptly by one of many servers. Atmosphere and clientele are casual at best. Drink orders taken and refilled constantly. Probably 6 – 8 waitresses each looking over 2 – 3 tables. People got food fairly quickly. Looked like average breakfast food: eggs, pancakes, etc. Nothing to write home over, but looked just fine.(Limited menu, but fine if you just want breakfast or a diner lunch.) We got drinks and placed our order. While EVERYONE around us got food, ate, and left, we waited patiently as we were told there was only one cook and he was VERY busy. Yet others came after us and were served before us. We attributed this to our orders of chicken fried steak, thinking maybe it took longer. Finally after about 20 minutes our waitress assured us the cook was working on OUR order. After another 15 – 20 minutes and no food, I went to the counter where there were multiple waitresses at the window to the kitchen and asked about our order(since our waitress had disappeared). They also made a big deal about the cook being the ONLY one in the kitchen,(though I wondered why seeing as the kitchen looked big enough for more and there was plenty of staff running around filling drinks almost more often than necessary). They said he gives them orders in the order he makes them. I explained how long we’ve waited, and that EVERYONE else had been served. The cook glared at me and rudely said«I HEARDYOU, I HEARDYOU». The waitresses found our ticket on the turnstyle and said he hadn’t even started on it! I don’t know if our waitress forgot to put it on there, or it got lost, or he ignored it and filled orders at random. Infuriating to say the least. Seemed like something weird going on between the kitchen operation and the waitresses, or at least ours. Long story short, everyone else seemed to have great service and decent food in a timely manner. But needless to say, we won’t be going back!

Oh no! 45 min later hubby started feeling sick… Off our list of places to eat. Atmosphere was nice, staff attentive. Hubby had chili cheese omelet, which he devoured … Then realized they forgot his hash browns. Sad day. My eggs were fried perfectly, bacon was perfect, pancakes could have been a bit more brown, but over all it was good and filling. Coffee was point! So happy to have a tasty cup of coffee. Not a higher rating because … It’s nothing special… But enough to come back and eat.

I heard about this place on the radio and thought I’d give it a try. The layout is not that of your typical diner; it’s very unique. As soon as we walked in we were pleasantly greeted and told to sit anywhere we’d like. Immediately our greeter/server came with two glasses of water and took our drink order. I asked for the drink options and she mentioned grapefruit and I for some reason thought it would be homemade. Instead we were given two bottles of OceanSpray juice and then asked if we wanted cups with ice for them(well not after you bought us the bottles already). The food was very mediocre. I ordered the French toast breakfast with scrambled eggs and bacon. The French toast consisted of slices of white bread pathetically battered in egg. The eggs didn’t come scrambled but more like flipped and overcooked. The bacon was also overcooked. I would’ve honestly given this place one star, but the service was good.

This place is completely over rated. When we sat down and asked for a high chair i was told that they only had two and that they were both being used. If you are a family oriented diner why do you have only two high chairs? When we ordered our drinks, and asked for apple juice the waitress told us that they didn’t serve apple juice though it was clearly on the menu. After coming back with our drinks, the kids drink were served in coffee cups with a coffee lid. When i looked around at the diner every other child had to go cups instead of coffee cups. Once again why call yourself a family diner if you are not family oriented? When we ordered our breakfast the i asked about a childrens menu and was told they only had«bear cakes» basically it was a bear shaped pancake, once again not a family oriented place at all. When i ordered my breakfast, the waitress came back 5 minutes later to tell me that didnt have what i wanted. When our food came the boys pancakes were lukewarm at best, and very tough to cut. I would assume they had purchased them from like walmart or some other place. My food was descent, while my girlfriends eggs were totally unacceptable. They were liquid eggs with not taste. Overall i would not recommend this diner for a family to come to. The wait staff seemed untrained and not really friendly. Also this is not a true diner at all.

This place is the place to be if you’re hungover and looking for a place that isn’t IHOP(open 24 hours a day). However, the Chef and Early Edition are much much better options for breakfast in Manhattan during«normal» business hours. The food is pretty tasteless and greasy. I would not recommend this restaurant in its current state.

This place is a total dive, but there’s something charming about it. For the longest time, it was the only 24-hour restaurant in Manhattan, but now they have other options. The food is… edible. It’s really not that good, but if you’re hungover and craving a «greasy spoon» kind of joint, this is the place to go.

Good diner food at a good value. I would give it 4 stars but my waitress had the personality of drywall. I saw how others were waiting on tables and it was obvious she could have cared lees about being there. Next time I go I will just avoid her.

I liked Bob’s the minute I walked through the door. It reminds me if the simple places I would eat in back east after deer hunting. I normally go to the Chef in Saturdays but this place is far easier to get into — no 40 minute wait for bacon and eggs. As for the food, you get good dinner food and not expensive. Bob’s is a good place overall.

I like a dive as much as the next guy. Really, I do. And I used to drunkenly schlep my way to Bob’s all the time when I was in college. But when I started eating there in the sober light of day, I realized something: Bob’s is gross. It’s dirty, the food is meh, and it’s dirty(yeah, I know I said it twice…). Still, it’s a 24-hour spot which there aren’t many of in Manhattan and the food is crazy cheap.

Open late, which gets it 3 stars right there. Good food, nothing fancy, it is a diner and it serves diner food.

Yes, this is a small-town diner with greasy food — It does not boast itself as a 5-star restaurant. When you go, expect hearty, midwest«meat and potatoes» kind of cookin’! On this particular Sunday morning, the servers were friendly and efficient and the food came out quickly. I recommend trying the corned beef hash skillet. It has gravy, mmmm…

Bob’s Diner is well known among the KSU students. Open 24hrs/day everyday, this place sells the standard diner stuff. One of the places worth going to if you’re in town. Ordered the French Toast here and it was good.

This place is mediocre at best when it comes to diner food. The three times I came to eat had terrible service. it’s bad when a group of people arrive 10 minutes later and get served before you get your meal. The last time our waitress ignored us and forgot our pancakes. Had to get a different waitress to put in our orders. Until they improve service and quality of food, I will not be eating there anymore.

I prefer Bob’s over Village Inn. I’ve eaten here several times after the bars when I was in college here. We recently visited and had a late breakfast. I had an omelet and hashbrowns. The omelet wasn’t very warm and the shredded cheese wasn’t melted in the middle. My husband had the big breakfast with eggs, ham, bacon, sausage, and pancakes. The pancakes are good. The ham was really good. The service was very friendly. Our original server got busy trying to get a shift covered, but the other servers stepped in to make sure we had our coffee and whatever we needed. It seems as though the servers cover each other when necessary, which is better than being ignored. The food is a little on the greasy side, but I think it’s a great atmosphere and love going back every once in a while when I visit.

So I have been to Bob’s twice now. The first time I went was a year or two ago and it was decent enough. It was nothing more than your very typical local diner. However, I just recently went and I don’t know what happened, but it sucked. The scrambled eggs are egg-beaters and completely tasteless. The wait staff was unorganized and confused. It took 10 minutes for the waitress to acknowledge us, and then five minutes after taking our order she came back and asked us if she had taken our order yet… wtf? When the food came it was OK except for the nasty egg beater eggs and the fact that they had forgotten the side order of hash browns I ordered. The pancakes that my friend got were not very good; they were tough and undercooked. The only thing good I have to say is that the prices are reasonable.

Pancake sandwich was good. Real buttermilk pancakes… mmmm. Not cardboard-y at all. Good bacon too. They didn’t get one of our orders right, so only 4 stars. Othewise excellent, and open 24 hours.

Your local greasy spoon. Open 24 hrs which is great after the bars are closed. Friendly staff, cheap prices and ample parking.
