Cosmetic Dentistry of Manhattan

I was very impressed with the service that Dr. Hwang and his staff provided leading up to and during my appointment. I left the office feeling good about my teeth, and I can highlight a couple of points that stuck out at me.
— The office was able to send me paperwork beforehand. This was very helpful because it meant that when I arrived for my appointment, I was able to get started right away.
— I did not feel embarrassed discussing any of my dental history with Dr. Hwang. He was quite understanding of the special circumstances of my dental history, which I was appreciative of.
— Dr. Hwang took the time to actually take me through my x-​ray as well as the specific part of my teeth that was bothering me. I’ve been to other dentists where they just tell you what’s wrong, but Dr. Hwang was able to articulate what was wrong, what that meant in the bigger picture, and the best way to address it.
— Dr. Hwang’s office was clean and had a great view of the city. It was also quite convenient, located very close to major subway lines as well as the crosstown bus. I live and work on the west side and was initially apprehensive about going to the east side for my appointment, but this was a non-​issue.
— Finally, I feel confident that Dr. Hwang and/​or his office will follow up with me before my next appointment.
I booked my appointment with Dr. Hwang through ZocDoc, which was no problem.

I met Dr. Jesse Hwang at a prior practice that I had been going to for over 6 years. Dr. Hwang impressed me so much that I decided to look for him at his new practice here at Cosmetic Dentistry of Manhattan. I’m so happy I did. Dr. Hwang has terrific bedside manners and is a pleasure to work with. He and his able assistant gave me a new filling and replaced an old one in a very efficient and nearly painless manner. All the while Dr. Hwang patiently and thoroughly answered all my questions — and believe me I had quite a few. The colorful sunglasses to shade me from the bright lights and protect my eyes was a nice touch.
As the other reviewers mentioned — the office is meticulously clean and very modern — it does feel more like a spa than most dental offices I’ve visited. But to be honest, the décor doesn’t really matter so much to me — what’s important is the quality of care and the professionalism of the practice. In these regards I cannot recommend Dr. Hwang and his team more highly! He takes my insurance to boot, so I’ll be going to Dr. Hwang for as long as he does.

This is an amazing office. Typically you walk into a dentist office and there’s just that stale dentist office feel to it. But walking into Cosmetic Dentistry is like walking into a high end beauty salon. They have designer sunglasses for you to put on to block out the light, and sound canceling earphones that you can use to listen to music while they’re cleaning your teeth. Not to mention TV’s at every station incase the World Cup is on at 1pm.
So besides the the facility being top notch, Dr. Hwang is great. He has a very friendly demeanor and walks you through what’s going on. You know how sometimes you feel like dentists are out to get your money? Dr. Hwang isn’t like that — he keeps an eye on very minor developing cavities and will prescribe a fluoride toothpaste to try to keep it in check.
My cleanings always go smoothly and not painful because he takes particular care in the process.
Been going for a year now and gladly will be continuing!

Dr. Hwang is very friendly and professional. Office is clean and staff are well-​trained. Got an exam and cleaning completed in a timely manner. Nice view of the city is a plus!

I went to Dr. Hwang for a ZOOM teeth whitening. This was my first time getting my teeth whitened so I wasn’t sure what to expect. My friends told me it is a bit painful which it was but Dr. Hwang made the process smooth. He was very informative in explaining the procedure from start to finish. As my teeth became more sensitive with each treatment (there were three 10−15min sessions under the lamp), he adjusted the intensity of whitening lamp. After each session, he made sure I was okay to proceed. I did not feel pushed to continue and can tell he cared about my experience first and foremost.
It’s been a week since my ZOOM treatment and I am very happy with the results. Not only is my teeth whiter but it also looks natural.
Dr. Hwang is great, highly recommended!
