A small amount of space? Fine. No water? Not the end of the world. But an entrance-exit gate that does not close or latch? This is a dog run, people! City of NYC, please take note.

You can let your dogs play while looking over a cliff with awesome views of the Bronx. It seems to be a reasonably peaceful neighborhood.

This is an all-around great dog park. This run is larger than Jay Hood Wright and easier to get to than Sir William’s(in Fort Tryon). Like Jay Hood, it’s gravel which is a turn off to some but I find that gravel makes rainy days much more bearable than grass & dirt(plus, fewer mosquitos). It’s quite shady with plenty of benches and two separate areas so even if your pup isn’t very social, he/she can still enjoy being off-leash. This park’s «regulars» are also a lovely bunch and very warm to newcomers. It’s definitely my go-to dog park!

One of the better runs in Upper Manhattan since it had recent renovations. Things it has going for it: — Plenty of seating for humans — Good fencing — Separate large and small dog runs — Plenty fo shade — Parking very close if you can find a spot Things it has against it: — No bathrooms for humans nearby — No poop bags — Crushed granite litter material ground cover is better then dirt or wood chips, but if you have a wet long haired dog it is a pain to clean it out of their fur — Small entry areas, first gate in large dog run has a broken latch already — No water when I was there. Learned from a regular, there is a hook up for a hose in both runs, but you need a special key to turn water on. Two people have the key… so if they aren’t there, your pouch dehydrates unless you bring water… bring water. Stupid set up, but one that some other runs have this set up too. If it had pea gravel or synthetic turf as ground cover, poop bags, a consistent water supply when people are there, this would be one of the better runs in Upper Manhattan.
