Ik Express Laundromat

It’s a laundromat. If you want an inexpensive place to wash clothes yourself this place is fine. Sunday at 8:30 like a ghost town. Supplies and change available. No plastic accepted. Really, quit complaining.

Best laundromat ever!
My sister and I frequented this particular laundromat because it was right around the corner from our place.
The employees are always very sweet to us, not only because they probably recognize us, but I genuinely think they like working there. How rare is that for a laundromat?! The owner is very nice, and always offers to have someone pick up and drop off our loads, if he does not do it personally.
We have since moved away from this corner, but would definitely recommend them to anyone near by. (They’ve even offered to pick up and drop off our loads from our new place, but I wouldn’t want them to have to do that just for us, since I am sure they are busy. Gonna miss them!)

I have used IK for over a year now. Mostly because, it’s the closest laundromat to my apartment. If there was another option that was better, I would go there.
The machines are a little expensive — $ 2.25 for the smallest washers, $ 4.25 for the next size up, and drying is $ 0.25 for every five minutes.
The people who work here aren’t the friendliest, but they normally don’t say anything to you. If you come in the mornings it’s the best, because the place can be pretty unpleasant when crowded.
The machines are functional and do the job, but if you’re drying things on «low» beware, sometimes someone changes it to «high» which results in shrunken clothing. This happened to me once when they were approaching closing, which leads me to believe one of them did it in hopes of getting me out of there sooner, which is really not cool.
They also have dry cleaning and will do your laundry for you, but I’m not in the income bracket to take advantage of those sorts of things.
Their hours are not posted and change depending on the day of the week and whoever’s working’s mood. We have been told 9am-​9pm, 9am-​11pm, and 10am-​8pm. I have no idea.
I am giving it three stars because although it’s not the nicest place, it gets the job done.
